I would like a clock for my desktop that shows the seconds since Jan 1, 1970... even better if it could go in the tray where my normal windows clock currently is. anyone know of an app like this?

Find and app called Konfabulator. About 1/3 of the widgets are timers, and if there isn't a Unix one already, one of them is probably customizable to that date at least.
