Model?I would use ebay for an approx worth. Look for a replacement screen and subtract that from the value of the laptop if it were working. Adjust for repair cost.[Edited on August 16, 2005 at 4:31 PM. Reason : kkthx]

that screen sounds ridiculously expensive.

My father-in-law cracked his 17" HP screen and brand new from HP was $900+ dollars. He found one off of e-bay, brand new sealed in HP box for ~$400 or so. Easy to replace though...not a hard replacement at all.

a 19" laptop? never heard of it, think you meant 15" UXGA, that's a $400 replacementest. roughly 25% of it's original cost - $400 = worth of laptop[Edited on August 16, 2005 at 10:38 PM. Reason : .]

17" like you said prospero.. sorry.. don't know why I said 19

the laptop is probably worth alot more than 25% of original costthat means if he paid $1000, then its worth 250 - $400 = -$150if thats so i'll take it.

but is it worth it to get a new screen?

i paid 2,300$ for it in the year 2003. it was brand new then also

good news (maybe)I found a screen that fits my SIZE specs and the pictures match where you plug it in at perfectly but its a ZE5500 instead of a ZE5600 screen.Would they still be compatible even if I had the system utilities disk?
