TWC offered me a dvr for 10 bucks a month. Can you buy these things on the market? Or do you have to go with what the company has?

You can buy these things at most electronics places (e.g. best buy). Buy a cheap one and hack it.

Replace the little hard drives with massive ones so that you can record for centuries at a time.

The site has been blocked by the corporate network. The topic "hacking" has been deemed inappropriate for the workplace.Gotta wait till I get home now.

the twc HD dvr is better than ANY tivo unit, hacked or not. It's WELL worth the 7 bucks a month, it comes with 160gb hard drive and is badass.
