Competition Yellow Micah 1993 Mazda Rx-7 R1 with around 19k on the odometer. Only 250 of these were imported into the U.S.Some guy off the Rx-7 forums recently bought this thing, bone stock, from its original owner who had kept it in a climate controlled garage. Cost him 25k, which is pricey for a good condition FD, but damn this thing is clean.

^ It's bone stock with 20k miles. Most people don't start having problems until 60k+ miles. That thing would be great to have for an occasional weekend romp, but FD's are not cars you want as a daily driver obviously. The cooling system and the stock sequential system just don't hold up well over time as I'm sure you know. There's a reason why they only sold like 12,000 in the US.I've seen both sides of the coin with these cars. I know a guy who has a stock one that really only started having problems around 100k miles. I know another guy who blew his up at 110k, rebuilt it , and is always trying to troubleshoot the sequential twins. I know another guy who runs a big single now after blowing his motor at 90k, and he doesn't wrench on it any more than other people I know with heavily modded cars. I'm not familiar with your car but I understand your sentiment. All engine issues aside, you really can't touch an FD for balance and handling though... I've driven an FD a couple times and it definately feels better than my nonturbo FC and the Turbo II's I've driven.[Edited on August 14, 2005 at 9:32 PM. Reason : .]

gorgeous car, but damn if that isn't the most reliable engine ever. you can rely on it blowing up before 70k! go check out ebay. Every single car near or over 60k miles is like, "2000 miles on engine, 65k miles on chassis."
