there is this black plastic vacuum pot that has one vac line going to iti desperately need to know what this is calledand no, its not a NGR valve. it appears to possibly control a flap in the inlet to the SC downstream of the MAF

OK! its the "boost bypass valve"now if i plug the vac line to eliminate any leak will my car be driveable? this would only be temporary untill monday when i can hopefully get a new one.i broke off the connection for the vac line [Edited on August 13, 2005 at 3:25 PM. should be ok to drive easily. it's just a valve to bleed off excessive boost when you're on it and to relieve pressure when you lift the throttle quickly. very similar to a bov/bpv on a turbo car.
