It seems like to me that the marketing and "hyping" of movies has become outrageous...
Everytime a movie like this is getting ready to come out, you can't turn ANYWHERE without seeing an ad for it, or some reference to it. fast-food restaurants, TV commercials, sporting events, everywhere..
then you see the movie and go "blah.."
I've also stopped watching every trailer and "movie clip" that comes on the internet b/c if you watch all those you feel like you have seen the whole movie.
It makes movies a lot better if you avoid all the previews and all the constant advertising and "hype".

EXACTLY what I did. The only thing i didnt really like about the movie was the could have found a better daisy. Not saying jessica simpson is ugly, but she looked terrible in this movie.

I saw the previews and Knoxville and Scott were both talking in these annoyingly horrible Southern accents. Also, Jessica is hot and all...but Daisy Duke was a brunette. Bad casting in my opinion.

I enjoyed it. I plan on getting the DVD. Not saying it is award winning movie making, but it is an excellent saturday night popcorn movie.

Knoxville was a decent Luke but Scott wasn't a good Bo (and he was too scruffy)
Simpson was hot but Daisy had more brains and did more than do strip teases in the series to get what she needed.
and Daisy didnt really have too many lines or do shit other than look hot. in the series she's alongside the boys alot more.

and Boggs is short and stumpy and dumb. Billy Bob is a great actor but he didnt come off dumb enough. (nor short)
and whoever was cast as Rosco was horrible
Willie Nelson was a GREAT uncle Jesse though
as well as whoever was cast as Cooter was pretty good


but i did enjoy the movie. it wasnt exactly like the series but it was close enough and a whole new generation today will like it. hot girl. fast car. blowing shit up. sex.
if you've never seen the series then you'll probably love it. if you loved the series then you might have mixed feelings. everyone who's watched the old shows will be a critic. but like i said i really liked it for what it was.

i enjoyed the movie, BUT i don't think it was like the original series. there were several times that it seemed like they were actually doing a spoof of the original series. all in all it was entertaining though.
