Any clue how to do so? I know the port number for smtp or whatever its called is 25 but I dont know what type webmail is and I also do not remember the program that will allow me to connect to ncsu.edu on a comp not connect to the network....help please. thanks

Webmail is on an IMAP server. I believe you can telnet to access a POP server. However I doubt it will work with webmail.I've been able to access webmail from Mulberry, Outlook and Thunderbird. If you need help, just PM me.[Edited on August 9, 2005 at 2:15 PM. Reason : .]

telnet is insecure and has long been disabled. you want putty. the app you want (took me a year to discover) is pine.http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/remoteaccess/putty.html
