the MS Office EULA specifically permits you to install it on 2 machines.

Microsoft sucks
8/9/2005 2:43:28 PM
I don't like MS because they get their hands on everything. They make everything proprietary. Browsing standards, office formats, etc. Open em up so I can choose the best program to run things rather than my only choice.
8/9/2005 3:00:15 PM

DudeStop being a total retard...You can install OpenOffice.org on multiple machines, cuz, due to the stupid nature of the GPL and the LGPL, you are effectively getting a new license for all the machines.I don't think you use the same downloaded binary/source for all your machines. That's right...you download them separately...and when you do so, you accept to abide by the PoS GPL.
8/9/2005 4:19:54 PM
I SAY YOU, HE DEAD!
8/9/2005 4:20:01 PM
8/9/2005 4:21:27 PM
If you copy just the binaries...without the source codeYou're violating the GPL
8/9/2005 4:25:24 PM
DONT FORGET LIMEWIRETHEY LET YOU DOWNLOAD STUFF FOR FREE
8/9/2005 4:28:14 PM
^ can't get the colonel's recipe on limewire. i'll check bt in a min.
8/9/2005 4:32:18 PM
Not true.
8/9/2005 4:32:29 PM
Pardon me if I am wrong...but isn't every machine a new user?
8/9/2005 4:33:34 PM
Which means that you have to make the source available when you give them a copy of the program. After that...it is their prerogative to use it or not.
