20 feet from the router, case closed, gets a VERY low signal, crazy packet loss.open the case 1 inch or more, perfect signal, no packet loss.haven't tried a different pci wireless card.is it the card? the case itself? or the interference from the MB/cards?

confusion... isn't the antennae "outside" the case b/c i have 2 of those same cards and my antennaes are outside the case, so i don't really understand why the case being open or closed would have anything to do with it

yea i'm pretty sure this guy is a n00b

Thius would be a case of antena not working/shorted to the shield on the card.

yeah, my wife's computer has that card and it sucks ass w/ my wrt54g. It's like 5 feet from the router and always has issues. It's wired now and, of course, hasn't had any issues.

^Agreed, we have a microsoft router and its signal strength is so god aweful from anything >10 feet.
