^^^ Yeah, the state is kind of retarded about what they're not exempting. What makes it worse is that the damn news makes it sound like almost everything is exempt. That means that in about 1.5 hours I'll be dealing with dumbasses who are going to try to argue with me about why their printer, 110 dollar calculator, and safety goggles should be exempted when they're not. Fun times brought to me by WRAL and the state assembly.

No, only things you can get at the kiosk is home & home office.(which I might add, if you have coupons, you can bring and use them there, not to mention we might have coupons we can use on top of that. *MIGHT*)

Do IPods count as tax-free? I didn't think so, but someone told me they got their's tax-free last year.
8/5/2005 10:00:11 AM
I got mine tax free last year, but I think the rules have changed this year.
8/5/2005 10:03:13 AM
i read somewhere that this year the Ipods will be tax free because they are considering them a pda.
8/5/2005 10:14:54 AM
So an Ipod is exempt because it has a calendar (but isn't the device's primary function) How the hell do they expect someone to use a computer with no monitor (extremely essential) I want to pick up a Dell 17 or 19 inch lcd tv, but if you buy it stand alone, it isn't tax exempt!!!

^it's just a ploy to get you to spend more., thats why

From the list of exempt items....I liked this:
8/5/2005 5:18:18 PM
bookstore is exempting ipods. apple rep says the apple stores aren't. guess that's a difference in interpretation. apple rep also said the apple store wasn't exempting the warranty since apple care is sold as a seperate item with it's own retail packaging. most other places are exempting warranty upgrades for apples and other computers since they have no value without the computer they're attatched too (arguable with apple care.)
