isnt this the damndest thing

the batteries will be in there for about 2 weeks, then i'll here a slight sizzle, and when that happens, i flip the mouse over, battery case facing up, wait about 10 seconds, and then POP, the batteries fling themselves outta there, leaking battery fluid everywhere. I usually just wipe it off the plastic to make sure it doesnt do any permanent damage. Hasnt so far. Tonight was the second time it's happened (happened about 2 weeks ago as well)

do you think i bought a bad bunch of batteries, or is it the mouse? (the batteries are just regular duracells)

your mouse has an Al-Kalinea sleeper cell...time to send in the troops.

hard problem to diagnose...might try borrowing the TV remote's batteries and using them for a test. if they pop you'd know you have a bad mouse. though I'm inclined to believe that any mouse that would blow up batteries wouldn't work very well...if you've not seen problems with the mouse I'd guess it's the batteries. but there's really only one way to test it...another set of batteries from a different package.

you need a mighty mouse http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/

not cordless, but I doubt it will sizzle at you. it might whistle so you'll question it's sexuality, but not sizzle.

I'd be getting a new mouse if I were you. Let this serve as another example as to why cordless mice aren't the best ideas. Replacing batteries is annoying enough, but exploding batteries!?! I'll gladly put up with a cord to avoid a potential exploding acid bomb.
