Decided to put together my own computer rather than buy a prebuilt. Just wondering if anyone here could give me some input on better parts or better deals.

Going to reuse a few parts from my older computer. IDE hard drive, sound card, cd drive, etc.

Any one got ideas for this build? Thanks for the help.

thats a solid build

youve spent lots of money elsewhere, you should think about perhaps a nicer proc -- though you do haev upgrade potential

your board is nice, dont ever use SLI, its bullshit.

people will tell you to get better ram, but benchmarks show that cas 2 vs cas 2.5 is about 1 percent boot in perfermance. not really worth the money.

1) That case is so butt ugly, useless, and rediculous looking it's, well, rediculous.

Please lord, you are willing to spend 100+ bucks on a case, get a nice, well equipped Lian-Li aluminum case or something else that isn't Ricer plastic heaven.

2) STAY AWAY FROM OCZ POWER SUPPLIES.

Again, spending that much, you can afford a good Enermax psu. Or bump up a little more for a PC Power & Cooling unit. Antec Truepower is an okay series, and the E-power units have done pretty well. For cheaper units, Fortron is the way to go.

3) Look at OCZ memory, it's going to have better timings than the Corsair for about the same price.

4) Make sure your existing hard drive is a 7200rpm drive. If not, you will definitely want to upgrade to a 7200rpm SATA drive.

im kinda skeptical about that things cooling ability

120 is just too much to spend on a case w/o a psu you are gonna use

u can get a riced case for 30

Shit, I just got Enlight plain-ass beight cases for my last two builds. Relatively cheap and well set up. Easy as hell to pop drives in and out, and pop the mobo when I need to.

Fan is noisy as shit, though...I got temp-sensor variable speed fans instead.

If you're dead set on getting that DFI board, take the time and do a little reading at http://www.dfi-street.com. Good board with a ton of info about all of DFI's boards. The admins (Angry_Games and RGone) are actual DFI employee's and very frequent posters. Really helped me out getting my NF4 SLI-DR up and running without a hitch.
