You couldn't afford a cell.

Yeah, getting your own cell would be kind of expensive.

^^^^^both of those phones are huge.what's the smallest phone available from cingular? i want good reception, and i don't want a bar-phone. i need vibrate, and i prefer multiple #s per person. other than that, i'm not picky.

i have a sony ericsson z500a.. i get just about 5 bars anywhere in raleigh.. doesn't have bluetooth... otherwise I love the phone.. the one problem I have found with it is that the software limits the speaker volume during normal use.. and isn't as loud as most phones.. even though it can get louder.. I sometimes turn the speaker-phone on to get the extra volume boost while in places with a lot of ambient noises.they are releasing the z520a within the next couple of months.. which is an upgrade to the z500a, with bluetooth and such integrated..[Edited on August 2, 2005 at 12:51 AM. ^ I have the Z500 and I absolutely hate it. It drops calls left and right. Randomly gives me a BSOD, making pull the battery out to hard reboot it. The structure of the menu sucks, plus the keys take too long to press when you're on a call. Example: When I dial voicemail, I have to dial one number then wait, then dial the next, then wait etc. to enter in my password. Overall a crappy phone.

You can fix your BSOD problems with the Z500a by pasting a spacer between the sim holder and the battery cover. The BSOD is caused when you slam the phone shut and the sim microprocessor shifts within the holder, losing contact with the leads of the phone. Newer releases of the phone have this spacer.
