This is a little later than normal, but definitely within the norm.Maybe a better question is, how many hours is a normal work week? Do most people stick with the standard 40 hours? Do most of you with salary work more or fewer hours than 40?
7/26/2005 8:24:15 PM
salary and usually 45. Not too bad.
7/26/2005 8:32:49 PM
salary...between 45 and 60hrs...I get home anywhere between 5:00 and when the rooster crows...unless I'm still up...then there's no telling[Edited on July 26, 2005 at 8:48 PM. Reason : ]

usually?night shift- between 1:30 and 4am. sometimes later.day shift only - 5pmsummer & breaks - average work week about 60-70 hrs.. sometimes up to 80+ during school - 40-50 hrs
7/26/2005 8:48:36 PM
I'm salary, and I stay close to 40. If I have a story or something that makes me work after 5, I get comp time.
7/26/2005 8:54:33 PM
I'm salary and I work a little over 40 every week. But if something needs to get done I have to do whatever it takes.
7/26/2005 8:59:09 PM
7 pm usually
7/26/2005 9:10:25 PM
oh yeah and i'm home by 5:03 because i live less than 2 blocks from my office
7/26/2005 9:14:16 PM
50-60 hours per weekI get home between 6pm-9pm depending on the surgery schedule for the day
7/26/2005 9:21:41 PM
4-430pm. but then I get in to work around 730 and usually work a couple hours on the weekends...narf.
7/26/2005 10:32:56 PM
50-60 hours per week, i get home around 6:30pm every night. But my bonus is directly calculated from how many hours i bill to clients, so working more hours = a bigger quarterly bonus, even though i still have a base salary.
7/26/2005 10:52:29 PM
55-65 hours a week butween my full time job and my little side business. Factor travel in 1-15 more hours a week.
7/26/2005 11:31:17 PM
depends on time of yearusually out the door of the office at 530, but during markup of our bill, i work about a month of 12 hour days with a week within that month of 16 hour daysbut i hit the gym right after work so im never home before 730-800
7/26/2005 11:55:25 PM
I can work a max of 12 hours a day with at least 12 hours off before I can be scheduled again. Sometimes I have to stay on for 24 hours, but I get the day off the next day.
7/27/2005 2:04:39 AM
Can they sometimes extend that if need be?12 hours off before a flight? I need to transfer.[Edited on July 27, 2005 at 5:39 AM. Reason : .]

bout 5:20pm
7/27/2005 8:46:35 AM
Usually go in @ 8:00 AM, get off at 4:30 PM (37.5 hour work week), go straight to the gym, get home just after 6:00. However, I'll probably work a good bit more hours (evenings and weekends) during the legislative session, but earn exchange time and/or overtime.
7/27/2005 8:50:44 AM
730 until 5-5:30...no OT for me
7/27/2005 8:56:08 AM
9-6, home around 6:30 usually. I'm never more than 10 minutes early and never leave more than 10 minutes late.
7/27/2005 9:08:48 AM
I'm on hourly, and I love it. I work for a small engineering company that insisted on hourly because we work so much overtime. I'm not traveling now so I'm only working 40 hours a week. When/if I go back to traveling I'll be putting in 60-70 a week. I usually get home between 4:30 and 6 PM depending on when I get in.
7/27/2005 9:14:49 AM
i am salaried, and i typically work 9-5 with a 1 hour lunch break + 20 min ping pong break. 33.5 hour weeks, mawfawkas to answer the question:if i go directly home, i get home around 5:20.-ZiP!-[Edited on July 27, 2005 at 11:15 AM. Reason : ]

Might as well retitle the thread "How much free time do you really have during the week?"
7/27/2005 11:21:56 AM
Leave home at 7:30-40, get home 5:20-5:40. We FREQUENTLY take 1:30 minute lunches (as in 2-3 days a week) and nobody says anything.
7/27/2005 11:45:06 AM
usually about 6. sometimes 6:30.
7/27/2005 12:44:06 PM
In time to shit, shower, and turn on the PS2... mmm... 'bout 5:30
7/27/2005 1:09:54 PM
i leave the house before 7am, and get back home around 6pm.but I have a 45 minute commute. I don't work much more than 40hrs a week - it doesn't take me 12 hours to do 8 hours worth of work . . . .
7/27/2005 1:56:49 PM
35 hoursbut thems some pretty stressful hours most of the time.
7/27/2005 2:09:59 PM
i work a 9/80 schedule where i work 80 hours in two weeks but with every other friday off. usually i get to work around 7 and leave at 5:30. supposed to leave at 4:30 by that schedule. so i work on average 45 hours per week and then i also usually work through lunch. but every so often i end up working a hell of a lot more. in the past 3 weeks, i worked around 180 hours (60 per week).

if you count driving then 7 until 545 or 6
7/27/2005 4:54:54 PM
^^Same here. Sometimes I'll pick up an extra project on the weekends if one of the part-timers asks off. Most of the time I get off at 5PM and home around 5:45PM. Except for days like today when I got off at 3PM because the a/c broke and it was 80 degrees in the lab.
7/27/2005 8:20:24 PM
2 block drive each way, 45 hrs per week, salary, and home by 4 each day. but i should add that i am out of the office all day going to see my builders. so i never sit at a desk. ps- i love my job. [Edited on July 27, 2005 at 10:16 PM. Reason : tur]

I get home around 4:30, depending on traffic. I'm salaried, and I work 9/80s to have every other Friday off.I work 6:30-3:30 just to avoid rush hour traffic.
7/28/2005 12:42:27 AM
variestonight, i'm here for another 2 hours...
8/1/2005 7:25:39 PM
the drive from Ga to Fl sucked today...especially with the pouring rain on I 10. I worked with the Fed gov, work with them when disasters happen, was in Ga for flooding due to Dennis, now back to Florida(where i started, but i was got flown into Tallahasse originally). Nice 4hr drive. Today was my travel day, so i got paid for 8hrs.At the place i will be working at it is in the middle of nowhere, nice 45 minute drive, so i will not be getting "home" until 7ish at night. Plus, I am the OIC(Officer in Charge) here, so that means i am for sure the last to leave. Oh well, at least i get some OT....now we just need another hurricane to hit! oh, i am hourly, and love it, when a big disaster hits, major OT the first month, hated moving to GA cause there went the OT. varies depending on the disasterGA=44hrs a weekFL=54hrs a week, Mon through Sat, they just stopped working Sunday[Edited on August 1, 2005 at 7:47 PM.
