4/27/2005 10:42:27 PM

4/27/2005 10:43:06 PM

4/27/2005 11:46:38 PM

4/28/2005 7:38:34 AM
Raleigh Saw 832-2248
4/28/2005 7:55:04 AM
i wonder if they sharpen saw blades?
4/28/2005 7:41:47 PM
I believe they sharpen any kind of cutting tool. The company I work for uses them alot, the quality of work is great the service seems so so. What kind of saw blade are you looking to sharpen?
4/28/2005 8:33:43 PM
a see saw [Edited on April 28, 2005 at 9:04 PM. Reason : dave whats the name of your company? ]
4/28/2005 9:02:25 PM
yeah, i've been there before. they do any and everything when it comes to any type of saws. they are kinda hard to find. their shop is off of departure dr. right across from the bowling alley on oak forest rd. behind honda on capital.if that makes any sense.
4/28/2005 9:33:03 PM
yeah I know where it is, i work there now. decided to get out of the dead end automotive thing for a while, maybe forever. hell, ivan is working in real estate now, dan is in soil something or other... none of tww's top mechanics even work on cars for a living anymore lol
4/28/2005 9:39:40 PM
ahhh, ya finally learned. thats why i quit 2 years ago. come where the moneys at, fool. you can be a firefighter with me. bank roll, nigga.i was just up at raleigh saw a week ago. rfd has an acct. there. ill see if i can't find an excuse to come back by and harrass the shit outta you.[Edited on April 28, 2005 at 9:43 PM. 4/28/2005 9:42:51 PM
You do have the right idea. It starts to become no fun dealing with other folks' shitty cars (especially ones that others don't take time/money to fix RIGHT)...and in turn it takes all the fun out of one of my favorite hobbies. So now I just do the odd side job here and there, and nearly always for a good friend or a friend of theirs.Joel, if I'm that way, I'll stop in and talk to your face fer a change.
4/28/2005 9:52:58 PM
zx did you finally graduate? Im working for hazen and sawyer, and goin back to school in the fall.
4/29/2005 7:25:56 AM
4/29/2005 12:48:30 PM
yeah, it can get old... when i started losing the desire to work on my own stuff, i knew it was time to take a break. not to mention this is much better financially. i got to the point where i was working full days at the dealer, then going to do sidework at my own shop for another 3-4 hours almost every night and on the weekends. that combined with a part time pizza delivery job and finishing my last semester of school was a little much. i've cut back to only a few side jobs a month, and i'm starting to get some motivation back for finishing my own projects. it's a damn catch 22 though, now that i've got money to spend and the motivation, i lack the physical time to do it.
4/29/2005 7:14:10 PM
gotta hate that catch 22... ever read the book?
4/30/2005 11:37:58 AM
Houston...yeah I graduated, but alas, none of my interviews produced any offers. Granted, I've not had very many interviews, but damn...I got a friend of mine that works for Hazen and Sawyer...name's Bryan Lisk. You don't know him by any chance do ye?Ivan...ain't it though? Same story...I lack time and motivation. [Edited on April 30, 2005 at 10:49 PM. Reason : more stuff...]
4/30/2005 10:47:50 PM
Ha, lisk and i were duking it out on the basket ball court friday. Hes a good guy.
5/1/2005 9:14:17 AM
Damn. Small world. I haven't run into him in a while. Tell him Dan Bliley's got a transmission for him.
5/1/2005 12:08:49 PM
well, instead of me slowly learning the part of the business that accounts for about 40% of the total revenue and taking over for the old guy who has been doing it for 37 years when he retires in 2-3 years, he has decuded to retire at the end of the year. that bumps my schedule up a little bit, but also means ill be making more money sooner. but it also means I have 7-8 months to pick up a new skill and get the operation of 3 huge machines down pat. this has the potential to be a really really good thing or a disaster. the stuff I am talking about is sharpening blades/knives, and actually has nothing to do with saws or saw blades at all. the knives im talking about are used for everything from 3in blades for small wood planers to huge sheetmetal breaks that take 10 foot shear blades. only things we dont do that are similar are shit like lawnmower blades and hunting knives and that stuff.i have a couple of days to think about it and decide what i want to do
5/2/2005 8:15:26 PM
Gotta love thoes big ole surface grinders
5/2/2005 11:11:14 PM
if I dont go nuts from listening to the fuckin BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR noise all day I can afford to do some of the things I really want to do, like pay off some debts and buy a ring for someone, and maybe pick up a new truck
5/2/2005 11:30:22 PM
Ear plugs. And put the truck on the back burner for now. You got transportation, don't ye? Of course, it would prolly be nice to get better mileage.
5/2/2005 11:36:50 PM
5/2/2005 11:41:05 PM
5/3/2005 12:01:11 AM
Stay at the job and learn a new trade, buy the ring and skip on the new ride.
5/3/2005 12:29:18 PM
^ is what i did, no regrets.
5/3/2005 12:31:20 PM

5/3/2005 1:12:26 PM

5/5/2005 9:48:55 PM
dude if you come up to my work tomorrow i have a job for you- we need a fixture built so we can sharpen some small HSS blades and I think the project is right up your alleyyou should come out before my boss gets hamilton machine to do it.
5/5/2005 9:55:11 PM
btt
5/6/2005 6:38:27 PM
Not really any time right now for any side projects right now Joel but I appraciate it.
5/8/2005 12:11:41 AM
well does your work build custom fixtures/jigs then? my boss is about to pay hamilton machine to make one but its difficult to communicate to them exactly what we want
5/8/2005 12:15:44 AM
We dont do any outside work. If I were to do it it would be @ Boyettes after hours. If its not too elaborate I might be able to find the time but have no fear with Hamiltons. Lynnwood Is a pretty bright fella all he needs is a sketch on the back of a napkin most of the time.
5/8/2005 12:21:56 AM
^exactly... you'll think the crowd at hamilton's is the biggest group of idiots if you're trying to verbally explain something to them that they've never done. take a simple sketch in, and they'll get it no problem.
5/8/2005 1:02:58 AM
i figured out a way to do it today for less than $10and I have advanced to running the MVM KX250 solo now, I was knocking out some zamboni blades this afternoon haha
