Question: Why are inane threads more popular than the semiserious / serious threads? I don't really want to see crap like "What music are you listening to now?" or "How tall are you?"; Yet those threads are the ones that regularly get reponses and float around on the first page. Does anybody EVEN derive any real value from threads like those?

If you want some threads with meaningful content, go to the soap box, if not SHUT THE HELL UP

because this is THE LOUNGE!"proceed at your own risk. consider yourself warned."meaning is in the soapbox.

Yea, come on, remove the stick from your ass and calm down. A lot of us are under extreme stress and pressure from classes, work, family, etc. and come here as a way to relax. Not to debate serious topics and issues of the day, necessarily. Some of us just want somewhere to shoot the shit and blow a little steam off. So if you don't like the threads, please feel free to ignore the urge to click on them.

think about it, we all have a height, and most of us listen to music... it's a common denominator, many of the "semiserious/serious" threads only fit a certain group of people

man, you're all about challenging the established things here lately...i personally derive pleasure from the what are you listening to thread, because it gives me some ideas for new music to listen to.mind the soap box, will you? you almost tripped over it.

i will tell you this, i really LIKE the "what music are you listening to" page. i think it's very interesting to scroll down and see who's listening to what. so.....you don't like it, bite me. anyway, i would rather read about how tall we all are than look at gay midget porn. choose your battles.

Well, some of these have been better than ones in the past couple of weeks.
