its only TEXT so it takes up virtually no space

enough text can take up significant space, on a board i posted on like 2 years ago, me and 5 other guys did one of those things where you continue a story on and on and on, and then the admin deleted it becuase that 'little' bit of text was taking up 330 some Mbs of space. although it was a damned good story

no it wasn't

server space isn't an issue. the entire mail database only takes up 3 MB.also, it wouldn't help to delete mail. I cannot delete the mail message itself out of the database. this is because the mail message only exists ONCE in the database no matter how many recipients. so if you deleted a message from your inbox and it had multiple recipients, the only thing i would be deleting is the database link that links your user account to the message. it is also the same message that exists in someone's sent box. so basically i couldn't actually delete the message unless you deleted it, all other recipients deleted it, and the sender deleted it out of their sent box. this would rarely happen.
