It's great that he lets us know about concerts, but this can easily go into calendars or ads. I'm not saying suspend him, but at least let him know of alternative methods instead of making threads (more than one of the same show too).

OR the brewery could find a REAL way of advertising...

the shitty website that i couldn't find on google just isn't working...

and the lack of an ad in any well-read magazine doesn't help either

I think you should let him post, i mean i think the local music scene around here sucks, and TWW is a great way to reach out to NC state students.

I agree, not 2 threads on the same topic. But when you look at chit chat and see endless threads on the stupidest randomest dumb-ass shit I think a little promoting should be allowed.

No one is making you click on the link.

anyways, im talking about the people's lack of interest in the local music scene, not bands sucking...

and maybe one has led to the other...

but i'm in a band and i know how hard it is to try and promote shows. And I think there are some people who read or lurk on TWW that would care, although most people who respond just flame away at anyone that doesn't like the same music they do. I would promote on TWW but i can't take the abuse.

anyways back to the point: TWW has lots of worthless shit on it, at least TheBrewery has a purpose.

once again, i'm talking about people's lack of interest in LOCAL bands.

i'm not talking about mainstream stuff that everyone already knows about. i love a lot of mainstream bands, there is nothing wrong with that. And yes, tons of people, including me, go out to shows there on a regular basis.

i'm talking about local bands that may not be able to play at lincoln theatre, or cats cradle yet. And that doesn't mean they aren't good enough, it's because they don't have the fanbase yet. I've played with so many great upstart touring bands at the brewery, berkeley, lincoln, and other places, but there was still a low turnout. Those bands are relying on a local scene of people that come out to shows to support them. That is what we are missing. That is what TheBrewery is trying to fix.

I think the brewery is a good place, its in walking distance of campus, and i think there are lots of kids on campus that would appreciate some of the music. they just don't know about it or don't want to give it a chance.

i agree with bond, james bond. the brewery is a good place for local bands that dont tour or anything to play. hopefully the brewery will grow into something like cats cradle or aces basement

^ Never going to happen.

It would have been smarter if this dude just named himself Bob Smith, that way, we'd all just think Bob really likes the shows that happen to be appearing at The Brewery.

I mean, remember when jameswalt posted links for his subprofile moneymaking site all over the place? I remember that really pissing people off. Self promotion is a bitch.
