I normally agree but i thought the actress nailed her speeches SundayAlso she was right about Ramsay, he got Jon to do exactly what he wanted. She was right about Rickon too. [Edited on June 23, 2016 at 9:32 PM. Reason : Bb]

What are the odds we are getting a reverse starwars here? Jon and Sansa are going to find out they aren't brother and sister, then fall in love.

^hahaI think Sophie Turner has improved a lot this season as far as acting goes. Sansa was definitely my least favorite POV character but she's gone from being raised as a proper princess to being used and abused by 2-3 awful people. She's also like 15-16. Her development has come a long way and I like how she's a cold calculated face of the Starks when before she pretty much wanted nothing to do with the Starks.
6/24/2016 9:18:47 AM
In Sansa's defense though, did she really know that LF's forces were coming? If she had mentioned it, Jon's men might not have tried so hard, waiting on the cavalry to arrive.
6/24/2016 9:19:24 AM
Jon went HAM, gonna count the kills tonight. Sansa doesn't really care about Jon or his army, she wants Ramsey dead. So she knew there is no reason to tell Jon, LF and the Vale attacking the way they did all but assured victory (someone brought this up earlier). If The Vale would have showed up early Ramsay could have pulled most of his forces back to the castle, and it would have become a siege. Or would have never lined up for battle. He only met Jon on the battle field cause he had overwhelming forces and way more cavalry.
6/24/2016 9:34:15 AM
The same director did Hardhome. That guy is going places, you heard it here first. Wish he could do every episode.
6/24/2016 9:56:12 AM
Have we discussed how bad a battlefield commander John is?He did everything possible to die and fail.
6/24/2016 10:28:32 AM
^he did pretty good at the wall. but the battle of the bastards he didn't really command. he was trying to save his brother and everything went to shit. If Rickon wouldn't have been there they would have waited them out like Davos said.
6/24/2016 10:49:01 AM
Bc Ramsay tricked him, just like Sansa said
6/24/2016 10:56:06 AM
the writing this season has been less than spectacular. still an amazing show but going off-book has definitely had an effect
6/24/2016 11:50:02 AM
^ absolutely. It's gone from character driven/focused writing to TV style push the plot along writing. It's still a lot better than almost anything else on TV, but it's clearly suffered from not having source material to draw from. It was already simplified and compressed, now it's really starting to take huge leaps ahead. Martin clearly gave them an outline and instead of filling it in they're just jumping hitting each plot point and then moving to the next. No, BEU, I was not dumped by a ginger. I just don't like Sansa as a character and Sophie Turner is wooden and awkward. She was one of the worst parts of the shitshow that was x-men apocalypse.[Edited on June 24, 2016 at 1:13 PM. Let's compile a list of plot points this season that have made no sense.I'll start.- The entire Arya arc after she saved Lady Crane (could make like 10 individual points here)- Sansa not telling Jon about Vale troops- The Hound not hearing an entire village getting slaughtered- Rickon running in a straight line / Jon riding out into obvious archer range- Building up the Blackfish only for him to say a cheesy line and die off screen when he could have helped his niece
6/24/2016 1:44:12 PM
^Blackfish might be alive. The guard hesitated. Might have been wounded and jumped into river.I thought the hound did hear the fight which led to him going to the scene. The entire Rickon running with inaccurate bows with not enough range to him him is all crap
6/24/2016 2:14:40 PM
I don't think the Hound had an axe in hand when he came back did he? Wasn't the last scene him pulling the axe out of the log?I hope the Blackfish isn't dead. Based on stuff Martin and others have said he may very well be.
6/24/2016 2:21:34 PM
I just don't think he had anything with him to bring to the source of the noise.
6/24/2016 2:48:57 PM
So uh, wtf has been going on in Dorne this whole time? They haven't even mentioned it for like half the season.
6/24/2016 7:28:30 PM
^ and you are complaining?
6/24/2016 8:21:17 PM
Not complaining. Just wondering what the hell happened.
6/24/2016 11:46:14 PM
They probably thought "this storyline sucks, let's drop it, then kill off the rest of these guys over three episodes"

6/25/2016 9:24:29 PM
I know this isn't the book thread, but there's a tone of superfluous stuff in the books. Obviously it's not yet clear how everything comes together, but it seems like there are things that could and should be cut from the book. The whole Dorne plot seems like it was only necessary to kill of Myrcella. The writing has clearly been weaker this season than in others, but they've advanced the plot pretty rapidly. Some of that is good, some of it not so much.
6/25/2016 11:26:56 PM
The book is supporting the possibility of all power bases seeking control of the throne. In the show it makes sense that Danny might align with dorne. You can argue that every bit of chaos westeros has seen been to weaken westeros for targaryen restoration.

Great episode. Prophecy has come to pass. Wondering if Varys is a wizard, based on how quickly he moves about the map. Also, really glad jbrick decided to tell us about a major scene. Let's start looking at imdb ffor next season asap so we can know what happens in all the eps.

One of the best for sure! Arya coming out of nowhere! I really want to know for the non book reader ignorant of R+L=J theory how that reveal went.
6/26/2016 10:49:15 PM
oh i did wonder where Arya got the face...and boobs. i guess she killed someone in westeros?
6/26/2016 11:13:29 PM
So do y'all think that Cercei will at least send Ser Pounce to a no kill shelter?
6/26/2016 11:15:53 PM
So many WTF moments this episode. I can't believe they killed nearly all the Tyrells, I hope Olenna lays the smackdown on Cersei who's gone full Disney-villain evil. Great fucking episode. The wait for next season is going to be so long.
6/26/2016 11:33:58 PM

Fuck Cersei. I can't wait to see her ass fry.
6/27/2016 12:23:48 AM
Varys getting to westeros is not some crazy thing. The show doesn't progress in real time, so its not like Varys was chatting with the dwarf last Sunday in Dragons Bay, and then 7 days later tonight is in westeros. It's likely a couple weeks at least, maybe a month have elapsed between episodes 9-10, and perhaps a week in the middle of the episode, (for Jaimie to tell Frey's to fuck off and head back to Kings landing to see his bottom bitch get crowned).. More than enough time for Varys and arya to make their way to westeros.
6/27/2016 12:24:09 AM
I could see this being an end to Jaime and Cersei. I think there will be too much doubt in Jaime's mind as to what really happened to his son.And so what if Jon Snow is Targaryen? It has been kept a secret from the entire world, and only Bran knows it. Nobody is going to listen to him or believe him if he comes public with it. The only redemption there would be if Catelyn Stark somehow found out so she would feel like a straight up dirtbag, but that ain't happening because dead. And I don't think Varys' movements were all that unreal. I mean the trip from Mereen to Dorne was kinda quick, but for all we know that last scene is after Dany had already visited Dorne and picked up their forces.
6/27/2016 12:27:28 AM
I like how Arya went full Eric Cartman on Walder Frey. Also, who even made that pie? It looked pretty professional. Did Arya learn to cook somewhere or did she stop and recruit Hot Pie on her way to the Twins?

I imagine the people who bitch about travel time in this show are the same people who got mad that Jack Bauer never had a chance to pee or eat lunch in 24.
6/27/2016 7:55:28 AM
^It's just that Varys moved way faster than the other pieces on the GoT chess board. Also travel has never been dull or easy in this world before this season. The journeys of Brienne and Jaime, Arya and the hound, Bran and his posse, Varys and Tyrion, etc. have all been long and interesting journeys. This season, Brienne (and Jaime) just shows up at Riverrun, the Ironborn make just one quick stop on their way to Mereen, and Varys just bounces ball-lessly between continents. Just makes things feel a bit rushed.[Edited on June 27, 2016 at 8:11 AM. Reason : j]

Can we petition to have Miguel Sapochnik direct every episode from now on.also, I kept hoping we would see GRRM's fat face pop up after the show to announce the release of the next book. Should've known better. [Edited on June 27, 2016 at 8:20 AM. Reason : asdf]

Agree with the distance/time jumps for Varys and Arya. They kind of had their hands tied with Varys as their story needed Lady Olenna to lose her whole family before she was summoned to Dorne for that conversation, but I think that would have worked equally well if she had gone there even before the Wildfire...she's already had plenty of motivation to seek other allies, and really it would have been in line with her character to be thinking ahead anyways. Maybe after she leaves King's Landing she goes to Dorne where they float the alliance idea, but she's hesitant, than after the wildfire she sends a raven that she's in or something.Arya on the other hand, they drew her story out unnecessarily this season IMO to begin with. They could easily have just sped that up a little bit, had her kill the waif a couple episodes earlier, and then it wouldn't seem so crazy that we see her end up at the Twins last night. And yeah, I realize that time does not pass week to week the way we imagine it would, but when the shows sets the precedent that traveling from place to place can take around a half of a season (Hell, Arya and the Hound took almost 3/4 a season getting to the very place she is now from a much closer spot) it's bad writing to just have people showing up halfway across the map all of a sudden
6/27/2016 9:10:19 AM
I am interested in seeing someone, with a lot of time on their hands, put together a timeline of where everyone is during the last half of the season. I understand that a lot of the moves that are shown on screen are not happening concurrently, but they appear to be weeks removed from each other.
6/27/2016 9:17:45 AM
The 'teleporting' is because they're running out of time on the show. It's rumored that the last two seasons will be shortened, maybe only 14 episodes total. That's not much time to resolve all the various rivalries between the different houses and confront the White Walkers. So it's probably going to get worse.I read that Bran has a quote in season 3 foreshadowing what would happen to the Freys. He said something about a legend that says that if you kill someone you invited into your home you deserve to be fed your own children.
