^^ yup, not a chance in hell of a banner coming down on the night they throw one up.^ they may not know minutia but they sure as hell have gotten the broad strokes shared with them.

So are we all ready for the inevitable disappointment today?I am hoping maybe the NCAA again just says screw it and drops the biggest hammer they can knowing UNC will of course appeal anything other than probation and let the courts over rule it so they can say well at least we tried courts over ruled us blame them. At least we will get to see the melt down for a while before its all revoked.
10/13/2017 9:19:12 AM
Goodman says NCAA to release public report at 10 rather than at 1 as was originally reported.
10/13/2017 9:23:32 AM
10/13/2017 9:38:09 AM
Welp.They skated.
10/13/2017 10:03:08 AM
Wow no penalties at all...
10/13/2017 10:03:26 AM
Amazing. Pay the players NOW.
10/13/2017 10:04:09 AM
Surprise!Some horseshit
10/13/2017 10:04:24 AM
10/13/2017 10:05:01 AM
I hope we have already setup these classes now starting tomorrow.
10/13/2017 10:05:23 AM
Yea I'm thinking we nuke some minor department in CHASS or something.
10/13/2017 10:08:53 AM
Seriously every single school out there should and will start doing this now unless the NCAA rewrites its bylaws. Classes that require an elementary school level paper at the end and no class just gotta let a few frat boys in and you are good. What a fucking joke the NCAA is done
10/13/2017 10:10:28 AM
^But this wasn't about actual easy classes. Dont let UNC change the facts. This was about FAKE classes that didn't meet.
10/13/2017 10:13:15 AM
UNC-OJ
10/13/2017 10:18:05 AM
Well looks like we are done here.

2017 NCAA Cheating ChampsTheir first national title since 1982. Congrats Tarheels!
10/13/2017 10:24:11 AM
Lesson to other institutions: If you are going to commit fraud, make sure it includes a wide range of students in your plan, not just athletes. If so, the NCAA can't do anything.[Edited on October 13, 2017 at 10:27 AM. Reason : .]

LOL AINT SHIT HAPPEN!
10/13/2017 10:29:04 AM
This is the biggest load of horse shit I've ever seen. The NCAA is a neutered joke.

10/13/2017 10:33:01 AM
So if the NCAA who makes the rules and says UNC didn't break the rules, and if by definition cheating requires rules to be broken, then UNC did absolutely nothing wrong. In fact, because of the seven years of negative recruiting UNC had to endure, they should really be awarded extra scholarships as recompense. That, or reduce the number of scholarships for all of the other ACC schools who engaged in negative recruiting and unfairly benefited.??
10/13/2017 10:33:51 AM
We all expected them to get off, but to get no punishment?! LOLThe NCAA takes their hypocrisy to a new level. They may as well not exist at this point. Maybe the FBI needs to get involved.
10/13/2017 10:36:58 AM
As expected UNC will now be heralded as the school that took down the NCAA and brought about finally paying players. There is no way the NCAA survives this any school ever punished for poor or misreported grades should immediately sue. Were any tax dollars used in this whole thing? Time for people to start demanding accountability in some other way. Public pressure on SACS to give more punishment since the NCAA is passing the buck to them. Otherwise this will become a rampant practice among college athletics starting tomorrow.[Edited on October 13, 2017 at 10:45 AM. Reason : .]
10/13/2017 10:44:04 AM
yeah definitely expected WBB or soccer or something to get hit. never really thought MBB would get hit with anything significant. but also never really considered that the NCAA would ultimately say "nah never mind" was an option. this is kinda the one scenario i didn't see coming...figured after all this they'd make an example outta some non-revenue sports.[Edited on October 13, 2017 at 10:46 AM. Reason : ^not so sure about your first paragraph. the ncaa's survival is not dependent on this. ]
10/13/2017 10:45:40 AM
Since student-athletes gained eligibility by taking the sham classes, why would the NCAA not at least punish the teams for playing those players?
10/13/2017 10:48:14 AM
Total joke.NCAA is now as corrupt as they get. Zero penalties, lol. The thing is that even UNC fans are shocked.NCAA on its death bed.
10/13/2017 10:51:03 AM
^^ they ultimately ruled that the classes weren't a benefit to just athletes and it's not ncaa's job to say what is and is not a legit class.what's some bullshit is unc as a school is still considered very good and strong academically. yet they've basically admitted they've provided students (not just athletes, but classes open to all students) with fake classes for something like 20 years.[Edited on October 13, 2017 at 10:55 AM. Nope NCAA has said its fine so if you don't have these classes setup tomorrow you aren't trying to win now because you better believe any school that wants to win will have this running immediately. I guess that's UNC's only punishment is now everyone knows The Carolina Way is fine and so they won't have this advantage over everyone else that allowed them to be so successful.
10/13/2017 10:56:57 AM
Just as a reminder, we have a basketball player who is about to be ruled ineligible by the NCAA because he WENT TO CLASS.
10/13/2017 10:58:22 AM
Now to go after the real monsters: punters with youtube accounts.
10/13/2017 11:04:58 AM

10/13/2017 11:14:12 AM
That's it.College sports need to disappear. Fuck paying the players, just get rid of it entirely. Let the NBA and NFL pay for their own minor leagues.
10/13/2017 11:22:19 AM
10/13/2017 11:24:10 AM
Not one fucking "boycott da schoo" on the media teleconference
10/13/2017 11:28:41 AM
If the NCAA can't ensure that "student"-athletes are receiving a fair exchange of education for playing time then their entire amateurism model crumbles. You basically just have a bunch of dudes playing sports for free while individual schools and the NCAA rake in $Texas. Its wage theft pure and simple.Labor lawyers (and anti-trust lawyers) should be tripping over themselves to start sueing for players to get a fair exchange.
10/13/2017 11:32:12 AM
10/13/2017 11:34:37 AM
LOLOLOLOLOLof course, UNC gets away with no class and that kid is punished for going to class. How absurd, I'm done with college athletics.
