Wall has always been about himself and honestly I can't fault him for it. He shows almost no loyalty to Sid for recruiting him first but he's a smarter man for it. Wall has ALWAYS wanted the most exposure, to be surrounded by the best talent, and to compete for an NC (if you read his earlier interviews this a big point of emphasis for him). We could offer him a decent amount of media exposure but without much proven talent that's about it. We could of course tell him that he'd be a legend and the face of the program but really all that got Beasley was a nice win over Kansas, a huge snub for NPOY, and far less hype than he deserved (i.e. fewer endorsements) + just like Wall he was going to be a top pick wherever he went. I like the kid, I hope he does well and wish he would surprise us all by picking State but it's obvious that either UNC or Duke would be an excellent fit for what he wants to achieve.[Edited on April 8, 2009 at 12:32 AM. please John Wall don't go to Duke or UNCoh jesus that'd be devastating

yeah I agree 100% but many fans will always have a bullshit sense of entitlement over a local/legacy recruit. Given how long we've been recruiting Wall it's not surprising to see some delusional fans who think he has some sort of obligation to sign with State because of all the attention Sid has given him.

i laugh at you who think john wall should make this decision w/ anyone but john wall in mind.

Whispers: UK recruiting dominoes set to fall?Jerry MeyerRivals.com Basketball RecruitingDeMarcus Cousins is the No. 1 recruiting target for the new Kentucky coaching staff. The odds are very strong that Cousins will announce his intention to follow Calipari to Kentucky and that could be the beginning of some big news on the recruiting trail for the Wildcats. Rivals.com's Jerry Meyer has the latest in the Weekly Whispers.http://florida.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.asp?ReturnTo=&sid=&script=content.asp&cid=933109&fid=&tid=&mid=&rid=scout article:It didn’t take DeMarcus Cousins long to find his new home.Cousins, Scout.com’s 6th ranked recruit, made a commitment for the third time. After initially committing to UAB and then to Memphis, Cousins has now settled on Kentucky, where he’ll play for John Calipari.

^^ so how long until we are put on probation?
4/8/2009 8:55:17 AM
^How long until UNC and Duke's fans are applauded for their passion by making the same exact groups.
4/8/2009 9:39:05 AM
^it's ok there, though b/c those "fans" don't represent the university. they didn't go there

Is Xavier Henry's brother C.J. the same C.J. Henry that was a first round pick of the Yankees and turned in to a complete Drew Henson-like bust? Or am I crazy...
4/8/2009 11:34:55 AM
^ Yes.

Sweet .649 minor league OPS though...

My God I hope Wall doesn't go to UNC, Duke, or Kentucky. Even if you don't choose State, please don't choose one of those schools, especially UNC.

Why the hell do you fucksticks piss all over him every time he posts a link like this? I appreciate it since this thread is a lot easier to read and get FACTS from than any on Packpride... jeez.
4/8/2009 1:17:28 PM
wow, bigger shake up at UK than I imagined. both orton leaving and meeks declaring for the draft within a couple of days definitely raises some eye brows.
4/8/2009 1:23:30 PM
I'm not pissing all over him.Someone posted an ESPN link that sourced Cousins' coach and gunzz told the guy it was old news. gunzz posted a link that requires a membership.

gunzz has less margin for error with his postsWith most users, they can fuck up and not get lambasted for it but most users don't have an entire thread dedicated to their quotesNot saying its right...not saying its wrong...thats just the way it is

Not sure if many of you know much about 2010 recruit Luke Cothron (C/PF). He's a big kid and likes State a lot. He's offered and really likes Coach Lowe. We're up at the Boo Williams Invitational right now and he's really impressing us. He's a 5 star on Rivals and a 4 star on Scout. We'll have an interview up tomorrow most likely and more video up tonight. Here is the highlight video for his first game a few hours ago:http://wolfpackhoops.blogspot.com/2009/04/video-luke-cothrons-1st-game-at-2009.html[Edited on April 11, 2009 at 12:27 PM. Reason : sp]
