Any good M-Rated games out there? And what about Mario Party, Strikers, Smash Brothers, Galaxy, Paper Mario, etc...[Edited on November 1, 2007 at 3:08 PM. Reason : ]
11/1/2007 3:08:32 PM
Paper Mario = a great rental, don't purchase thoughRE4 = greatMario Party = if you're a fan of the series, you'll like it.Strikers = fucking awesome, if you have online playSmash Brothers = ain't out yetGalaxy = comes out in 2 weeks, been getting great reviews so far
11/1/2007 3:11:02 PM
What's the "if I have online play" mean?Do they have a subscription service like xbox live?
11/1/2007 3:15:56 PM
nah..the real fun of strikers is playing it online..ie Strikers is fun as hell if you plan on playing it online.all online games are free.[Edited on November 1, 2007 at 3:17 PM. Reason : a]
11/1/2007 3:17:07 PM
Well, I hope it is there when I get home in an hour.
11/1/2007 3:17:45 PM
11/1/2007 3:18:25 PM
if you have multiple controllers and people to play with, strikers is great for offline multiplayer. i get too frustrated playin it online.i'm still debatin gettin battalion wars 2. has anybody picked it up yet?
11/1/2007 4:04:01 PM
I picked up Zelda and Mario Party 8. I have two controllers and two nunchukas right now. I figure I'll pick up two more controllers for when I have people over. Are there any games that will require 4 nunchuckas?
11/1/2007 8:03:13 PM
Super Mario Galaxy is so much fun. Just got the first star and am continuing on.
11/1/2007 8:23:33 PM
I would highly recommend strikers. It has a steep learning curve with playing people online because they are just too good, but once you get the hang of it, it gets pretty fast and crazy. Very fun game.
11/1/2007 10:27:09 PM
well strikers can require 4 nunchucks if you have 4 people playing.i've heard mario party 8 is terrible, so hopefully it doesnt sour you right from the start.
11/1/2007 10:59:54 PM
^haha, it looks fun for a large group of people. I have a halloween party to go to on saturday, and the guy hosting it has a Wii. I'm going to bring it by with my two wiimotes.
11/2/2007 7:51:19 AM
p.s. I hear a lot of the first generation games by third party manufacturers have issues with the wii remotes. is this true? for example, I read that tiger woods 08 is sometimes annoying with the wiimote because it's coded badly.
11/2/2007 11:43:16 AM
^that's true, but it has nothing to do with being 1st or 2nd gen.I'll give you a hint:It has the letterss EA on the box.most of the games are fine, if they aren't being developed by lazy devs.[Edited on November 2, 2007 at 1:19 PM. Reason : d]
11/2/2007 1:19:14 PM
So then what are some good sports games, a bit more robust than wii sports, that have good wiimote support?
11/2/2007 2:18:53 PM
i think madden and the baseball games are doing welli'm pretty sure all bball games are blowing hard right now
11/2/2007 2:33:59 PM
I've noticed that Rayman won't let you play outside of a specific distance from the sensor bar. I don't know if it's different with the wireless sensor bar or not. I imagine that this may just be the optimal distance of all games and that Rayman just cuts the wiimote's functionality at this point.
11/2/2007 3:14:05 PM
we preordered Rayman today! I'm excited and I hope that the songs aren't hard as fuck cause that shit makes your arms tired after awhile
11/2/2007 9:00:14 PM
nba live 08 is decent so long as you arent looking for a lot of depth. fifa 08 is really good if you're into soccer games.
11/2/2007 10:09:10 PM
so, here's the deal.I take my Wii and my two Wiimotes over to my friend's house. We set up and everything. He has his friend's other wiimote so we can do three people. All of a sudden, I realize that the accelerometer on my 1P wiimote has stopped working. It had worked 3 hours ago when I played before I went to dinner. Now it's completely not working. I can point around the screen just fine, but the accelerometer wont workI haven't tested it back at my place, so I dont know if it was an issue at his place (he had a PS3 with a guitar hero 3 receiver, i dunno).still, it kinda pisses me off that it looks like it broke already.
11/3/2007 1:21:00 AM
see xbox 360 thread on how to deal with a broken console 1 day after you got it
11/3/2007 8:09:59 AM
how are the batteries in it? Nearly dead batteries make the wiimotes go batshit.
11/3/2007 8:14:13 AM
So is it bad that I still play Wii Sports Tennis just to beat the crap out of the AI? I mean they get harder after you get to 2000+
11/3/2007 9:54:32 AM
if i get a used wii, can i still register it online, etc? like do you see any problems ahead in that department if someone else has already registered it?
11/3/2007 10:00:14 AM
11/3/2007 11:33:22 AM
hit the home button at any time, battery indicator will show
11/3/2007 11:35:51 AM
The sensor works fine, it's just that the accelerometer is totally NOT working. I get vibration, sound, everything, no response from the accelerometer.[Edited on November 3, 2007 at 11:57 AM. Reason : accelerometer not gyro]
11/3/2007 11:36:37 AM
I just played super mario galaxy today in gamestopthat game is a little disorientating at first, but i'd probably get used to it
11/3/2007 12:26:58 PM
11/3/2007 12:43:55 PM
So, will my scam work?
11/3/2007 1:32:11 PM
you could have tried it in the time you've been waiting for someone online to tell you to do itfine, i'll tell youyes, it will absolutely work, 100% of the timethere are positively no consequences from this action
11/3/2007 1:56:59 PM
11/3/2007 2:00:17 PM
i've done that a few times actually
11/3/2007 2:55:59 PM
so are you going to tell them you opened it and it was broken?
11/4/2007 3:14:23 PM
I saw Mario Galaxy on display at EB games and was once again severely disappointed in the lazy development. Once again, every time you enter a world, you have to choose what star you want to go get . . . which also makes me think that you will be shunted out of your world as soon as you find that star. That was okay back in the N64 days, but not ok now. Mario Sunshine kept my attention for only the first world because of that.It all depends on how it plays, but I don't foresee myself picking it up before it starts hitting the bargain bins.
11/4/2007 5:46:54 PM
^^ Yeah and it workedproblem was that karma got the best of meI used the store credit to buy Guitar Hero 3.... annnd the yellow button on my guitar didnt work out of the box
11/4/2007 8:01:59 PM
Mario 3 on VC today and two games no one cares about.
11/5/2007 9:36:40 AM
just got my wiimote jacket covers from nintendo...they're actually quite comfy
11/5/2007 1:34:17 PM
Next Week:Super Mario Galaxy (so far a press average of 9.6!!!!)Medal of Honor 2Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Rayman 2Week after thatGhost SquadLinks Crossbrow TrainingTrauma CenterStar Trek so many games, so little time/money
11/5/2007 1:47:55 PM
Yeah I'm having a really tough time deciding between Mario Galaxy orRE:UC and Links Crossbow training (so I can have the zapper for umbrella chronicles)
11/5/2007 2:42:16 PM
medal of honor is soundin pretty good. a very customizable control scheme + 32 player online = possible sleeper hit.i've read some reviews that have had very little negative to say.
