Anyone play a high level Rogue? I just got Preperation and im thinking of wswitching to a vigor build.

Vigor is worthless. I love Prep. I'm a 21/8/22 build and for pvp it's awesome. Vigor is nice if you plan on taking on solo targets only. But in reality prep is far more useful. 10 minutes is a long time for a cooldown but when in a battleground you shouldn't be getting caught in situations where you need it that often, but it's very nice to have. I've played all sorts of builds too, it's 50g for me to respec, so I've tried out a lot of things. And for pvp 21/8/22 is hard to beat.If you are going to MC and BWL and don't pvp then you will be better served by making a custom build of mostly passive talents to maximize your overall damage without too much burst (to help mitigate aggro).
11/3/2005 10:35:19 PM
If you made a rogue and don't pvp you should just reroll.
11/3/2005 11:06:08 PM
reroll?
11/3/2005 11:30:07 PM
^^ Is that your favorite build?I've heard of all of these builds: 31/8/12, 31/2/18, 17/34, 21/8/22, 12/3/31 and 12/20/18don't know exactly everything about them all, but was just curious where I could possibly find some info on them, or if you know anything about them.Rogue is the one thing I haven't played yet (played for a few months, took a while off, thinking of getting back into it), so I was looking for a fun pvp build to move towards.

anyone notice strange stacking lately?i get '2' stacks of mounts, 2 devolution auras, 3 moonkin auras....my buffs sorta randomly stack up[Edited on November 4, 2005 at 12:39 AM. Reason : trer34]

i really hope i can hit 56 this weekend and start running brd and dm
11/4/2005 12:40:49 AM
^^^^^^ I think i just need to play with prep some more. I hit 59 right before i loged last so i havent any experence. Yes i do PvP. Im rank 5 and id be higher if i wasnt concerned about getting my gear together and hitting 60 (50-59 BG is non existant on my server). But as much as I crit, i get a woody thinking of all the extra CPs i could be getting. Like i said i just need to use prep to see if i like it but for what i could get out of vigor constantly i may drop, as you said, the situational prep. We will see.^^^ 21/8/22 has served me well so far. Its fun as hell and IMO one of the best balanced pve and pvp builds. The 31/8/12 build your talking about is the Vigor build im considering except i may go 30/8/13 passing the +10 energy for 3/3 imp ambush. Sounds kind of stupid to get to 30 into a tree without taking the 31st, but i need to turn that idea over some more too. Damn when the 70 cap comes out its going to be so much eaiser to get the rogue i want. Vigor build with prep FTW!! Youd be throwing up combo points like a bastard with Vigor, Rithlessness, and Initative all going at once....oh joy![Edited on November 4, 2005 at 1:34 AM. I think the 70 cap is going change the placement of all the talents. I don't think they'd keep them all in the same place and just raise the cap with the way they are so concerned with balanced and fair play. I used 30/8/13 for a while, and while I liked it it wasn't the best for pvp. 30/8/13 is better damage, but 21/8/22 is better at getting in, doing damage and getting out alive. I would love to have Seal Fate also, that would be so overpowered. Drop in, have 5 combo points in 2-3 hits, cold blood evis, vanish, repeat...
11/4/2005 2:02:12 AM
i don't guess anyone has a 60 priest... because i'm working on it.
11/4/2005 2:03:36 AM
my girlfriend had a 60 priest, i played her some.
11/4/2005 2:11:09 AM
arent placed like onyxia's lair, mc, and bwl going to be insanely easy with the higher lvl cap?
11/4/2005 2:16:59 AM
yea but oh well then they will put in higher level stuff of course. and my roommate's second character is a 52 priest. he'll be 60 soon
11/4/2005 2:20:57 AM
i want a fishing bot haha
11/4/2005 2:23:40 AM
Any mages have an opinion on what is a good profession to start off with and switch to later in higher lvls?

my mage (only 29 at the moment) is tailoring/enchanting, and that seems to be working out pretty well... helps when i have a 60 hunter to feed him cash though
11/4/2005 3:25:55 AM
WHY IS THERE 95 PAGES OF THIS SHIT? Go outside now.
11/4/2005 3:38:24 AM
while some ppl may play this ALL the time, there are also certainly plenty of ppl who play this game and make time for other stuff as well hah

11/4/2005 6:47:22 AM
I have a 60 priest. Priests suck though so not really something to be proud of.
11/4/2005 7:00:49 AM
black or leather smithing? better for $$$ would be?
11/4/2005 8:32:19 AM
hard to say. I know blacksmitthing is fun but i havent gotten much cash off of it yet. I would assume leatherworking would be similar, just with leather.
11/4/2005 8:33:53 AM
I haven't made a whole bunch of cash off of leatherworking. There are a few items I can make that people need for various quests so I've picked up moderate income from those. I have made good money of off rare items I can make, but ingredients are a pain in the ass for those (obviously).
11/4/2005 10:17:16 AM
is enchanting still the most profitable one out there? As i've posted a few times, I'm about to start a Rogue I think, and was considering leatherworking since that's what I would be wearing, but remember that people used to make tons of bank on enchantinggeez I'm so out of the loop on this game nowlet me add this question: Are there any favorite websites with information like this to read? I remember there used to be something like stratics or something, but have no idea if that's still a reliable source. I don't really feel like wading through the official message board, cause I'm sure that has about 6,000 different topics about "OMG IS THIS WEAPON GOOD?????"[Edited on November 4, 2005 at 10:35 AM. yes, welcome to world of meleecraft
11/4/2005 11:25:15 AM
^^^ I thought that was mostly for item lookups
11/4/2005 11:26:58 AM
^ there are actually quite a lot of comments on quests, items, and stuff. A lot of whinners but there is good info there.
11/4/2005 11:30:08 AM
enchanting...yea...if you can find yourself a decent recipecrusader...+22 int ... ect

Enchanting isn't as profitable as it used to be. A lot of servers just have a whole lot of enchanters now, same as any other profession, so competition drives profit margins down. Also, on my server, enchanting materials have gone up in price significantly, so a lot of people start acting all incredulous at you that you have to charge higher prices than you used to.It's kind of a double-edged sword, really. Serious players will always get armors and weapons enchanted as soon as they get a new one, so there will always be demand, but at the same time, they'll remember what they paid for, say, the last +9 sta enchant they got. And also, it's really only profitable if you put a ton of time into getting some of the more rare enchants that not everyone is going to have.
11/4/2005 2:38:37 PM
anybody here thats a hunter have any good ideas on builds? i was goin mainly marksmanship, but i've read a few that suggested going with a lot of beast mastery
11/4/2005 3:12:38 PM
I'm not wasting my time with duels. If you cannot take out one person well, how do you expect to take out several people well? This is an example of my group pvp skill on my mage: Now I just melt, shield, and heal people in group pvp and it works out great.[Edited on November 4, 2005 at 3:26 PM. Reason : -]

leveling 1-240 leatherworking is enuff i believe for today
11/4/2005 3:43:27 PM
All it takes is one night of getting two shot by rogues and warriors in battlegrounds and you will never pvp again as a level 60 priest. I log my priest on to do BWL and that is about it.
11/4/2005 3:51:07 PM
I get one and two shotted by roges and warriors on my mage and i still manage to take people down with me. Nothing is more frustrating than having a priest shield me and a druid innervate me while i jump in circles AE, and BWing the shit out of a group.

Austin, haha. never imagined u to like warcraft. lol

I'm currently using this 21-9-21 tri-spec build:http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/priests/talents.html?50003205050010050400000000000500252012310000Silence + Improved Fade are nice to have in pve situations and the other shadow points help for soloing/pvp'ing.If you don't want any shadow at all, I'd use something like this:http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/priests/talents.html?50003205050510050500505202100000000000000000
