I love bananas! Why do they get such a bad rep!
10/5/2011 12:09:14 PM
who said anything about bananas?was it in this thread that folks were talking about Dreamfields?http://www.dietdoctor.com/the-dreamfields-pasta-fraudI've been eating it, I can't tell much of a difference from regular pasta.
10/5/2011 12:36:42 PM

10/5/2011 4:10:12 PM
^ agreed now that i'm back in a gym - lot less people in there than i remember in the past.not looking forward to january though
10/5/2011 4:15:36 PM
As far as the Dreamfields pasta being a fraud, it really does not effect my sugar like regular pasta does and I am a type I diabetic that checks before and after meal blood sugars (checking my sugar 7-8 times a day). I guess it might just affect people differently. Don't know.
10/5/2011 4:16:17 PM
i mostly go to the fitness 19 off leesville now and its 50% high school students all the time

You're bigger than me, but with pants I generally have to buy a size up and then have the waist taken in. That's why I can never be a hipster. Skinny jeans just don't work on my body.[Edited on October 5, 2011 at 6:22 PM. Reason : ]
10/5/2011 6:09:41 PM
any male that lifts any weight will have pants issues. the endomorphs...fugget about it.
10/5/2011 7:14:09 PM
10/5/2011 7:57:33 PM
fuck pants, i just wear gym shorts to work
10/5/2011 9:13:02 PM
Girls have it lucky. We can wear skirts, dresses and leggings when our pants don't fit properly. Viva la leggings!^^ You're pear-shaped! You get it from yo mama![Edited on October 5, 2011 at 9:18 PM. Reason : w]

I was watching the news yesterday and they said they've done a 19 yr study on multivitamins and found that women who took a multivitamin had a higher death rate than those who didnt but they cant find a correlation. wtf? did anyone else see this?
10/11/2011 9:31:30 AM
lol I JUST swallowed my multi-vitamin (one-a-day energy) ]
10/11/2011 9:36:08 AM
everyone's death rate is the same, given time.
10/11/2011 9:50:05 AM
I'd like to know who did the study, how many people they followed, what the backgrounds of each person were... seems like a rather lofty statement to make. Link? Also, attempting to start a fructose free diet today. Well, not diet but more like lifestyle change. It already sucks.[Edited on October 11, 2011 at 9:59 AM. Reason : actually it's more like a diet where you limit the amount of free fructose]
10/11/2011 9:58:56 AM
why?
10/11/2011 10:00:09 AM
Because I think I've found the main culprit to all this stuff going on :\The other day I noticed my bloating had gone down some... and on the way to church I ate some dried apples. By the time I was in church, my abdomen was HUGE again. So that was the first time I was really able to pinpoint it to one type of food - and I knew people could have dietary fructose intolerance but I never really looked into it. I don't know why I didn't considering I have a history of hypoglycemia and that can be one of the main signs. What it really boils down to is looking at the ratio of fructose to glucose in good. For example, apples have a way higher ratio of fructose to glucose so they're one of the worst things you can eat. Berry fruits on the other hand are ok. And, think of how much shit has high fructose corn syrup... so it's not a mystery why I've been suspicious of a lot of processed foods... And finally, apparently wheat has fructans so it's best to stick with gluten free stuff seeing as wheat products normally have both, and gluten free breads and pasta, etc, typically don't have fructans.I'm going to talk to the doc about it on Friday, but I feel pretty confident I'm finally getting an answer.
10/11/2011 10:04:38 AM
sounds like a pain in the ass
10/11/2011 10:13:55 AM
It really is... especially because honey is off the list but at this point, I am so done with looking like I am pregnant and having my hair fall out that I will do anything. Plus, there are certain ways around it if you want to have a little bit of the "off limits" foods... Some studies have shown supplementing a food that has lots of free fructose with glucose can balance things out and not cause symptoms (but it can't be a large portion).
10/11/2011 10:17:01 AM
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15238610guess this was the study.science looks sound.
10/11/2011 11:23:45 AM
I love how they never link the damn studies -.-But I did a PubMed search - I find it funny that the guy quoted in the article had an article published in August of this year saying more people need to take Vit D
10/11/2011 11:40:56 AM
I just saw it in passing. Wondered if anyone knew. News said today vitamin e recommended for prostate cancer has actually done the exact opposite in preventing. No link cause I saw it on tv. Thought it crazy
10/11/2011 9:24:30 PM
man, I had a good run today, even though I haven't done anything in a week
10/11/2011 9:48:04 PM
I'm doing a bod pod test tomorrow...and I can't find my compression shorts
10/11/2011 9:55:13 PM
Started P90x on Monday, running 5x/week and meeting a personal trainer for a super intense weightlifting session 3x/week. I expect to be in god mode by Christmas
10/13/2011 9:05:43 AM
^ Nice, just remember your body needs to time to recover at some point.
10/13/2011 9:17:29 AM
yeah that's going to be really hard to keep up with, without getting hurt or sick.or, demotivated from being run down and quit on.[Edited on October 13, 2011 at 9:55 AM. Reason : agreeing with wadhead]
10/13/2011 9:55:00 AM
I feel like that's got to be a joke.
10/13/2011 10:08:20 AM
no he's serious, this girl he went to highschool with is going to be in town for christmas and he wants to be in top notch shape
10/13/2011 10:42:44 AM
i'm 3 pounds from my goal. i've been dicking around about losing the last few pounds but i'm going dress shopping in 2 weeks and i decided to make it my goal to be strict on my diet (working out has never been an issue).
10/13/2011 10:45:57 AM
i'm feeling pretty motivated. If I need to go 5days on-2 days off for p90x rather than the normal 6 and 1, that's fine. I'll get it done.most importantly i'm making sure i'm eating the right foods and staying healthy. My muscles are really sore though, btw. I'm only on day 4
10/13/2011 10:46:23 AM
and ill add that my running is short runs, 1-2miles, 10-15minutes.
10/13/2011 10:47:04 AM
Good luck with all that...Calorie deficit = recovery deficit. The more stress you are putting your body through, the more recovery you will need. If you are getting over stressed, cortisol levels will rise and losing weight and fat in the midsection gets harder.Keep that in mind when you hit a plateau.
10/13/2011 10:54:02 AM
What are your goals (weight loss, inches on waist, etc)???Just sounds like you could be over doing it a little....increasing your possibility of an injury, which would fuck up everything. I think you could do half of what you're trying to do and hit your goals easy as long as you eat right.
10/13/2011 10:55:28 AM
i'm 206lbs and prob 18-20% body fatwanna trim down to about 195 and 10%BFlook awesome, bench >225, and then ask out this girl i have a crush on
10/13/2011 10:58:43 AM
i dont really think its that much what im doing. P90x is ~1h/day, 15minute runs and then training sessions are 45min and that's the only time where i'm seriously lifting weights. I'm also just doing the classic P90x. The athlete version you do doubles every day.
10/13/2011 11:01:45 AM
also if it makes you feel better that i'm going to fail at this, i made it through half the P90x yoga session today before giving up. I thought the plyometrics day was pretty tough, but i finished it at least. Yoga is a completely different kind of difficult. Never did it before either.
10/13/2011 11:16:36 AM
Yoga sucks, but if you stick with it, your flexibility will increase dramatically. I try to do Yoga on weekends in the morning, because it's really difficult and long, and if I do it during the week I'll just replace it for something else that's shorter, like plyo.[Edited on October 13, 2011 at 11:26 AM.
