OH GOD!! OEPII1, I want all that in my belly. What is rocket salad? and can the kibbeh be non-meat based? Also, if you could throw in some french feta and wheat pitas.

Or I could just eat all the lebneh and tabouleh with the wheat pitas. OH MAN!! DO WANT!

Had the lebneh, hummus, and tabouleh in whole wheat pita pockets (hummus or lebneh spread inside the pita, and then filled with tabouleh, tomato, cucumber, and rocket salad... yum! )

I have never had non-meat based kibbeh, but I have heard it exists, but it isn't considered the original thing, just a modern variation.

Rocket = arugula ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_(vegetable)

^ All of that sounds delish! Mmmm lebneh

For tonight, quinoa salad with zucchini, cherry tomatoes, basil, black olives and lemon juice, served on a bed of spinach. Would love to add some feta, but that requires a stop at the grocery store.

Broke down and bought a crock pot on clearance this weekend. 18 bux for a BIG un!

So I had two chickens cookin' in it all day...just deboned them and made an assload of rice with the stock. Nothing remotely fancy, but damn, it's good in that downhome, comforting kinda way. And I have enough to eat for the rest of the week.

I think I'll make me a pot of butterbeans to take with it to work tomorrow.

I love highfalutin' food, but sometimes southern homestyle is just what a body needs.

In my defense, I've asked LunaK out to lunch and dinner multiple times. But she keeps coming up with excuses like:

I have to work
I have plans
I'm afraid of getting robbed
I hate black people
I'm going out of town
etc...

Delivery Indian food - chicken tikka masala and saag paneer split between the roommate and I, whenever it arrives.

The HT I go to had a sale on this frozen she crab soup that I decided to give a try. I love she crab soup, I'm just not sure if this stuff will taste the same after being boiled in a bag and frozen for several months.

I ate stuff that didn't go together at all, but it was a combination of using what I had, eating what my bf wanted, and wanting to try something new: cheddar garlic mashed potatoes, dill-mustard-caper salmon and Indian-spiced okra, onion and tomato stuff.

Just cooked up a wilted salad with bok choy stems/leaves, kale and mustard greens in a little butter and rice vinegar. I also made some rice with a roasted root vegetable medley of three kinds of sweetpotatos (hatteras, covington, batus), onion, turnip and beet in peanut oil and chopped peanuts with fried Arkansas Black apples (sugar, butter) for dessert.

Everything except the peanut oil, rice vinegar, rice and sugar were fresh and local. The butter was from Maple View Farms in Chapel Hill.

Farmers' Market FTW. Sweetpotatoes at $0.50/lb and tons of kinds of apples at $0.89/lb. That's half the price of the grocery store. Also, kale is basically free. Less than a dollar per pound.

Chicken and rice and butterbeans. I also had a heaping helping of butterbeans for lunch today, and so far the gas has been phenomenal. If I could bottle what is issuing forth from my nether regions, I'd never have to tank my car up at the station again.
