when you say x number of days to get the box, is that number of days once the order has "processed" or when you put it in?this is bullshit
6/18/2008 6:46:05 PM
they sent me my "coffin" about 3 days after i called them...got a UPS package notice about a week after i mailed it in...all in all about a week and a half for mebut i've heard of people where the whole process takes about 3 weeksyou could always buy a box from a store, only use the console, then take it back in a week or two when your box comes back and just return it...just check on the return policy before...ask if you can bring it back if you think it sucks]

6/18/2008 8:21:21 PM
i think part of the problem is i did it online
6/18/2008 9:19:51 PM
hmmm yeah i dunno, called the 800 number
6/18/2008 9:20:25 PM
i had a video card problem and instead of trying to fix it they just sent me a different oneso maybe lie and say it's your video card?but I was quoted 2-3 weeks and it took less than a week and a half
6/19/2008 4:01:00 AM
it'd be nice if they'd fucking tell you it didn't like the address
6/19/2008 7:01:39 PM
I want a really nice in-depth RPG with a turn based style battle system.Isn't Lost Odyssey like that? How is that game?I miss the FF type games.
6/23/2008 4:13:30 PM
it has an alright story and is a nice old-school jrpg, but i wouldnt call it super indepth. you dont have a ton of equipment and the skills level pretty simply. i still enjoyed it and it'll last you over 30 hrs i believe.
6/23/2008 7:15:16 PM
I just really like the games where you have tons of combination to enhance your character (skill sphere, materia, etc)
6/23/2008 9:26:33 PM
lost odyssey is def not that. still fun, but not that.
6/23/2008 9:39:07 PM
a lot of my games are starting to freeze now.....then saying the disk is unreadible, but the games work on other systems. Does anybody else have this problem and how much does it cost to fix if i send it in?
6/23/2008 9:41:40 PM
costs nothing in 4-6 weeks when it finally red rings.
6/23/2008 11:53:09 PM
Looking over some of the previews of upcoming games, am I the only one that misses turn based RPGs?It appears that most RPGs now have real time fighting instead of menu selectionand they also don't seem as in-depth when it comes to character builds
6/25/2008 8:46:00 AM
yeah pick up lost odysseysome gave it bad reviews because it didnt bring that many new things to the genre.but oh well, it executes the turn based final fantasy style agme to perfection. if you like that sort of thing then it doesnt even matter that it didnt bring anything new to the genre. lost odyssey is a really good game, and it spans 4 disks. definitely worth picking up
6/25/2008 2:23:57 PM
if you want massive character builds ur gonna gave to go with a strategy rpg nowadays.
6/25/2008 6:25:30 PM
^ like?
6/26/2008 8:19:23 AM
there arent really any for 360. im just saying that the general trend seems to move towards real-time and lower character management. there are still some good rpg's out there, but many just wont have that customization you are looking for.
6/26/2008 9:23:44 AM
oh, gotcha

Tales of Vesperia is going to have real time/action oriented combat like the other tales games, but it should still be awesome. I'm right there with you, there aren't enough JRPGs on the home consoles this gen. The DS is pretty much home to the lions share, and it's hard for me to get into them on there.[Edited on June 26, 2008 at 9:32 AM. Reason : :]

anybody played that 3D Ultra Mini Golf Adventures game on XBLA? pretty cool
6/30/2008 10:48:00 AM
Civ Revolution got an 8.8 on IGNSupposedly it's not as in depth as the PC (obviously), but if you've been wanting a civ game for the console, this is a good way to goSince I have Civ 4, I will probably never need to purchase another Civ game (lol), but some of you may want to check it out
7/3/2008 8:38:56 AM
I'm thinking of purchasing this off someone on Craigslist :Pelican air flo cooler for the Xbox 360 Does anyone who may have one, have an opinion on it? I have an older 360 Pro.[Edited on July 9, 2008 at 4:42 PM. Reason : pic]

whats the best kind of xbox 360 to get? i know there's a couple different versions of it with different accessories included. i'd like to get one mainly for sports games and first person shooters, and i'd like to play online. i didnt see one that included the network adapter and stuff, so i guess you just have to get that junk separate?
7/9/2008 7:13:38 PM
they all have builtin network adapters for a wired connectionif you want to connect wirelessly, you have to buy that separate, regardless of the consolethe main differences are hard drive, graphics connection, etc
7/9/2008 7:15:08 PM
ahha...well, how much space do you think it needs to have for just savin some games? i dont really intend on putting any media on it.
7/9/2008 7:17:22 PM
you could go with the small hard drive...i think its 20 gigs...thats what i got in november 05 when i got my box and i've been able to download demos and save all my save game data without issue...even loaded a few CDs on there...i think the biggest hdd is 120 gigs if i'm not mistakenyou do want a hard drive though
7/9/2008 7:22:57 PM
20 gigs has been perfect for me. unless you're backing up your music or storing videos on your HD, you don't need anything more
7/9/2008 7:29:29 PM
I put the 120 gig one on my core unit and to date I've only used about 20 gigs of it.
7/9/2008 7:33:44 PM
7/9/2008 7:43:26 PM
anyone else get Civilization Revolutions yet?I don't see any advantages over civ4 honestly, but, still fun.
7/10/2008 7:08:30 AM
7/10/2008 8:25:47 AM
Hasn't this been asked before?Battlefield:BC or CoD4, or wait till CoD5 at this point
7/10/2008 4:24:20 PM
my 360 finally red ringed this morning. I've only had it 14 months. I could barely understand the indian guy so I did the online method and should be getting a box to mail it pretty soon.I was doing everything right too! Leaving plenty of room for air to circulate around it and not playing it for longer than 4 hours at a time to keep it from overheating.
7/11/2008 2:21:11 PM
^^I'm not too familiar with Battlefield, but I'm quite familiar with the 2007 XBox360 game of the year Call of Duty 4. That game is so great on so many levels. I'd highly recommend it.
7/11/2008 2:22:53 PM
call of duty 4
7/11/2008 2:25:52 PM
i was reading through the COD4 thread earlier today...the first 10-15 pages...wow i've learned a lot since then!
7/11/2008 2:29:26 PM
haha I think we all had our rookie moment playing search and destroy and being the last one left, but not being able to figure out how to disarm the bomb
7/11/2008 2:31:10 PM
yeah but specifically just some of the classes and tactics i was recommending at the time...night vision on Wetworks for example...really not necessary...entertaining re-read^hey check out this post of yours from January...are you a prohpet or something?
7/11/2008 3:14:29 PM
My main concern was that pretty much everyone else has leveled up a ton and unlocked a lot of extras...is it possible to get into it now?
7/11/2008 3:20:42 PM
yeah definitely...you can get a good grasp of the controls, movement, sensitivity, weapons from playing the singleplayer mode...and the online mode is great...there are so many things to unlock but when you start off it doesnt overwhelm you...i cant recommend COD4 enough
7/11/2008 3:21:54 PM
I keep doing prestige which reseats all of your unlocked stuff. So everyone is a beginner over and over again. And yes, I am a prophet.
7/11/2008 3:42:56 PM
well, yall have convinced meit's on the way to my house now
7/11/2008 4:28:13 PM
sweet. let me know when you are ready to get whooped on
7/11/2008 4:45:52 PM
lolthanks

You can buy Assassin's Creed new for 360 for $24 now at Amazon.I'm 6 assassinations in, and I can see why some people don't like it, since you do basically the same thing every mission. However, I'm still not bored of it, so I can't complain. I love the architecture of the cities, and each of them has a very different feel and seems alive. I love the architecture of Damascus, and Acre definitely has the dreary feel of a city that has just been sacked (plus it has the coolest looking guards, I love the Knights with red helmets). One of my complaints though, is that the fighting actually feels like cheating to me. I try to be stealthy and kill quickly and quietly because it's fun, but if I do screw up and get surrounded by 12 guys, it doesn't matter, I can kill all of them barely breaking a sweat by countering their moves and using throwing knives.
