yeah i loved the nuva ring up untill i found out i had a bun in the ovenit has some risks but it was worth it for me. IUD for the last 2 years[Edited on August 21, 2009 at 1:29 AM. Reason : wait, i thought that going on the bottom of a page :/]
8/21/2009 1:27:50 AM
well, if we talk a lot about girly stuff we can make the page go faster
8/21/2009 1:33:27 AM
whats a bun in the oven mean?
8/21/2009 1:41:21 AM
preggers, yo!
8/21/2009 1:41:44 AM
we ran out of cookie dough
8/21/2009 1:42:08 AM
lol!
8/21/2009 1:42:25 AM
i'm kinda jealous that women have a pill they can take everyday and dudes dont
8/21/2009 1:43:15 AM
i would LOVE if the guys could also take something...like something that made their swimmers have cramps or something
8/21/2009 1:44:57 AM
well the copper IUD paralyzes sperm i tried the patch too, was on it for about a year, it sucked i hated it and went back on the pillit was actually a male gyno that recommended the ring to me. he was the only doctor i could get an appt with when i moved to texas and hes amazing. the chances of getting pregnant on the ring are the same (im pretty sure) as the pill. the ring does look kind of big but you just twist it into a figure 8 shape and pop it in, it goes exactly where it needs to once you get it in.the pill is just too time consuming for me, having to take it everyday.. forget it.i did ask my dr about the copper IUD but he wouldn't do it until i was at least married because of the risk of STDs and shit with IUDs is worse. even though im in a serious committed relationship, he said he'd prefer not to do it and im happy with the ring so i let it go.

^that's bs
8/21/2009 8:15:35 AM
Apparently, China is working on a birth control for men... and it is 99% effective. They are testing it for adverse results now that they know it works. There was a blip about it in my husband's Men's Health Magazine last night.
8/21/2009 9:16:19 AM
8/21/2009 9:58:46 AM
I agree that waiting until you are married to put in an IUD is BS. If I doctor won't trust my judgment then I won't trust that stupid mofo with my girly parts.
8/21/2009 10:03:09 AM
my doc told me the risks, told me again, asked if i was sure and said ok
8/21/2009 10:38:46 AM
8/21/2009 10:56:04 AM
If anyone is willing to drive to Chapel Hill, I know of a couple docs there that will insert an IUD no problems for nulliparous women. Or in general just tell the doc you want your tubes tied and they'll try to shove an IUD in there so fast instead it's just crazy. I had three doctors try to talk me into IUDs, so I had no idea finding a doc to insert one was such a problem.

^^Would she prescribe to me since I need to the BC to help with the hormones and not for the controlling of birth (even though that is an added bonus)?I've always wondered about people who are against birth control. If it's something they are against no matter what, or if they have exceptions for people who need it for medical reasons.
8/21/2009 2:40:43 PM
im pretty sure she was against it no matter whatand its not that i couldn't get it during my appointment, its just that she wouldn't prescribe it. when i asked for it for the upcoming year she said "well, i don't prescribe it, but the nurse will write it up for you"there were heavy religious undertones. whatever, it was a decent doc otherwise and i still got what i needed during the 8 months i lived there.
8/21/2009 2:54:29 PM
i am so lost...i have no idea what these acronyms stand for, what they look like, how they fit into the female anatomy...i am just wondering which one is the least gross
8/21/2009 2:58:52 PM
AHAHA i just remembered this gem.. nothing will ever beat the uber religious doctor in peoria who i went to see about a severe sinus infection. i didnt expect drugs going in, but i was looking for advice on relief or maybe drugs, i had been suffering for a week already.he told me "well, the only thing you can do about these sorts of things... is lots of sleep, lots of rest, lots of fluids.... and lots of prayer"err.... what?? i never went back. that was just too much for me to handle.i just awkwardly looked away and thanked him for his time and left.interestingly enough, i had just started my gardasil vaccination with this doc, and after that incident, i chose to finish my vaccination rounds elsewhere
8/21/2009 3:19:24 PM
Where do ya'll get pants hemmed around here?
8/21/2009 4:04:06 PM
^^^BC is birth controlOBGYN is the obstetrics and gynecologist
8/21/2009 4:05:36 PM
i was talking about the nuva ring and the iud thing. like ncsuwolfy said something about a figure 8 and "then it goes where its supposed to"...just sounds so strange. i cant imagine what its like to walk around with one of those things inside you
8/21/2009 4:06:40 PM
I have the Implanon thing in my arm and I really like it. I got it at planned parenthood actually[Edited on August 21, 2009 at 4:08 PM. Reason : yeah]

8/21/2009 4:08:12 PM

8/21/2009 4:19:49 PM
8/21/2009 4:54:24 PM
^^ used to be $50 with my BCBS insurance. However, they covered my IUD in full
8/21/2009 4:57:22 PM
the ring is $20 on my insurance, united
8/21/2009 5:59:45 PM
Nuvaring was $30 on my BCBS. But it depends on what prescription tier thing you're on.
8/21/2009 6:09:20 PM
just ordered some stuff on oldnavy.com. kinda sucks to order online but the NEVER have my sizes in what i want in the store!!i got:i also got it in gray. i already have one and i really like it - simple and it can easily go into fall with leggings/tights/boots etc.i got these because they were on sale. REALLY wanted the white ones but white will only go so far. and i tried them on like a month ago in the store and liked them, but not enough to buy them for $30. now that they are $19 and i really want a pair of skinny jeans, i said what the hell.and i got 3 of these boyfriend tees. they are 7.50. i tried on the small in the store and it was GIANT and they didn't have any extra smalls in my size. so i got heather gray, hot pink, and a teal colored one. they are comfy and go with whatever.
8/22/2009 6:19:58 PM
i, too, absolutely adore those tees
8/23/2009 12:40:48 AM
I lurve good deals. I bought this purse off ebay last night for $6.98 incl s/hAnd this necklace off ebay for $1 from China (free s/h)
8/25/2009 11:50:58 AM
8/25/2009 3:48:19 PM
That reminds me that my current BC was $30 last year but they bumped it up to $35 this year on the same plan. So I guess nuva would be the same.
8/25/2009 3:56:21 PM
I'm getting my hair cut/colored on Friday and can't decide whether to stay strawberry blonde or go back to blonde blonde. Suggestions?
8/25/2009 5:33:48 PM
do you have head on shots of you with both colors?
8/26/2009 1:03:06 AM
i need to get my hair trimmed, it's been a couple years. you know split ends, around the ears, neckline, that kinda stuff. you girls have any suggestions? not trying to spend 75 bucks on a salon but i do need someone that knows what they're doing.
8/26/2009 6:47:08 AM
First pic is dark blonde, second is medium blonde, last is strawberry blondeNot sure what to go for this time. :/It seems guys aren't so into redheads, for whatever reason.
8/26/2009 8:14:18 AM
I really like the color in the first one, and the color in the last oneand redheads are I'd be shocked if guys didn't go for one
8/26/2009 8:21:59 AM
I met a guy this weekend who said, "You know, you're a redhead, which I normally don't go for, but I guess I'll make an exception this time." Haha. What a smooth talker. I gave him a good glaring. And yeah, I'm thinking the lighter colors kind of wash out my skin. Thanks for the feedback!

Can anyone describe to me what the pain of a cyst bursting feels like? Right now it feels like I'm being stabbed and I feel like I'm going to throw up. At first it felt like I was just having cramps but it's going on for a super long time and even when I get up and move around to try to ease the pain it makes it worse. Could this be just a super awful cramp or could it be a cyst?
8/26/2009 2:28:32 PM
could be either thing, but when i had a cyst it was a constant throbbing feeling on my pelvic bone. have you ever had a transvaginal ultrasound? sounds like you are going to soon...
