This early prediction thing is lame. Obama is in the 60's in Ohio and high-50's in WV, according to early returns
11/4/2008 9:04:17 PM
I'm hoping that Obama wins the Electoral College and McCain wins the popular vote.Oh, the drama!
11/4/2008 9:04:21 PM
I'd die inside if that happened.Because then I'd actually want McCain to be president.
11/4/2008 9:08:31 PM
Oh come on, nothing for that great penis and reach around pun?
11/4/2008 9:08:34 PM
McCain's numbers are going down in VA.I'm still feeling good about it.
11/4/2008 9:09:59 PM
Me too - I'm all for the popular vote.Funk this confederate electoral bullshit
11/4/2008 9:11:12 PM
61% Obama39% McCainin NC
11/4/2008 9:12:42 PM
where are you seeing that?^
11/4/2008 9:13:17 PM
Yeah, the VA rules about how if you're in line before the time the polls are scheduled to close, they keep the polls open until you vote mean that the places with the highest turnout might have just finished letting people vote an hour ago or so. Those places are places like historically black neighborhoods with low prior turnout and record new voter turnout. That and high population areas which generally skew democrat.Holy shit, it closed to within 1% in VA since I last looked. That was about 10 minutes ago. [Edited on November 4, 2008 at 9:15 PM. my sources give obama a +4 lead in NC right now.. i knew that 60% was too good to be true.
11/4/2008 9:18:31 PM
^^ They flashed it probably about 30 seconds before I posted it. Where are you getting your numbers?[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 9:18 PM. Reason : ]

It's that conspiracy I was talking about. They're withholding data to boost viewership and suspense. How dare they keep us entertained so deviously.
11/4/2008 9:18:54 PM
They may actually call NC, Florida, or Ohio before VA. That would be remarkable. The streams are about to cross in VA as well. This is incredible, congratulations America.
11/4/2008 9:19:00 PM
FOX NEWS CALLS OHIO FOR OBAMA
11/4/2008 9:19:01 PM
Yeah, VA's going for Obama.FACT.GLOAT GLOAT GLOAT.
11/4/2008 9:19:45 PM
and now virginia is pulling closer and closer to even...
11/4/2008 9:22:21 PM
This is exactly why you shouldn't call races so early.
11/4/2008 9:23:08 PM
nothis race is overits been over
11/4/2008 9:23:37 PM
Finally black people wont be racist to whites anymore.
11/4/2008 9:24:17 PM
God damnit. This assclowns don't know how to run a reality show! You save VA, Indiana, Ohio, AND Florida to the end so you don't lose your west coast viewership. That, and you can also extend the ratings boost into the late night traditionally low earning hours. God, they need to watch their own terrible terrible reality tv.

Ah yay Intrade. Making me some nice monies.
11/4/2008 9:29:42 PM
I like how they called Michigan for Obama, yet McCain is still ahead in the popular vote there.
11/4/2008 9:30:43 PM
Yeah, just look at the numbers for Minnesota for a good WTF
11/4/2008 9:31:44 PM
And New Mexico just called for Obama, with McCain crazy ahead there.
11/4/2008 9:32:27 PM
have you guys never watched an election before?this is not new
11/4/2008 9:33:07 PM
they're looking at exit polls among other things to arrive at their prediction.
11/4/2008 9:33:08 PM
They're claiming that this is entirely due to the economy. B.S.Obama has proven that he's got what it takes. McCain's demonstrated that he can't take pressure, and heaven-freakin'-forbid we ever end up with a President Palin.
11/4/2008 9:34:56 PM
Yeah, think how they did NOT call VA an hour ago when McCain was ahead by 10+%.That's because they knew the places that had not yet reported had polled massively for Obama. With places where it looks like McCain is ahead in early returns, like Minnesota, they're calling it because the republican turnout that you're seeing was not what they estimated would be required to make the race even remotely competative. It's annoying though I agree since they feed you a stream of incomplete and seemingly contradictory data. They should NOT give you any numbers until at least 10% or so has reported in. Until then, it is useless and sometimes completely misleading.[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 9:37 PM. Reason : ]

It's interesting watching the coverage in Australia. First theyre all like, man voting in the US is a freaking mess! And they're calling every state like 30min before the US due to a lack of consequence/responsibility for their calls. They keep hinting that ABC is delaying predictions to keep viewer's attention, etc. Which is true, of course, but interesting that its called out.
11/4/2008 9:36:26 PM
11/4/2008 9:36:46 PM
Fox News has the best coverage of this because everyone is either about to cry or saying stuff like, "WE MUST WAIT UNTIL THE POLLS CLOSE!!!"
11/4/2008 9:37:48 PM
^^ If he runs the country similarly, then it will be successful and well funded?
11/4/2008 9:39:12 PM
I'm sure you can project the vote just fine, but I'd much rather wait until it's certain to call it. Heaven forbid you call a state wrong (*cough*florida*cough*).[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 9:41 PM. Reason : ]

7,000 vote margin in Virginia with 75% precincts reporting. That's about as close as it can get.

^^ That's what the IRS and the new elite IRS collection squads will be for.The liberal elite media has been working to develop weapons and technology for them for the last 2 years. Where do you think that hologram technology came from? Early experimentation in cloaking technology for collection agents. On a serious note- VA, NC, and FL are all being really annoyingly close. ^^ I have to admit that I was caught a little off guard by Texas. I mean I was always told that the only thing they have in texas is queers and steers. By all rights they should vote somewhere between "moo" and the way San Francisco votes.
