Wonder if Leary will transfer
8/28/2019 4:39:08 PM
if he stays 3 on the depth chart, then yeah i think he'll eventually transfer. maybe he wait to graduate and then he can just grad transfer (this year will be his 3rd year in school, so it's possible he graduates early)
8/28/2019 5:58:59 PM
if mckay holds down the job, i think hockman would transfer before leary does
8/29/2019 12:23:03 AM
Move him to WR. profit.
8/29/2019 7:31:28 AM
At this point I think both Leary and Hockman hang around this season. If McKay blows up and is playing lights out, then at the end of the season I think you could see one or both move on, but if he doesn't I could see both sticking around to try and win the QB competition in the Spring/Fall. Don't see a way we could head into the 2020 season with 5 scholarship QBs(McKay, Hockman, Leary, Evans, Finley).
8/29/2019 9:27:59 AM
Western Carolina lost to Mercer by 21 yesterday.
9/1/2019 11:34:01 AM
Future opponent WV squeaked by JMU 20-13 yesterday. They play Mizzou this coming week.
9/1/2019 12:24:35 PM
And Missouri got beat by Wyoming.
9/1/2019 12:59:40 PM
Cj Riley out for season
9/2/2019 2:33:45 PM
Does the band still occupy section 113? I haven't been to a game in probably 2 years.
9/3/2019 10:58:54 AM
Yes
9/3/2019 1:39:08 PM
So I know I asked earlier in the year what you think we'll end up (answers were between 7-9 wins), but I got a different question for y'all.I see this season as some what of a "rebuild/reload" season due mostly to:- new QB- new offensive coordinator- only 7 seniors on the two deep on both offense and defense. What do y'all think? Is this a rebuild season where expectations should be measured? Or should we expect more from DD in his 7th season?
9/6/2019 8:02:05 AM
Yes it’s a rebuild season. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still win 7+ games in a weak conference with an easy schedule. I think you always have to match expectations to the roster and reality. I think that fact that in DD’s 7th season our “rebuild” season could still be an 8 win season is a sign of a healthy program. A program of our level (relatively middle of the road) will always have rebuild seasons. Or maybe “transition season” is a better term...we aren’t rebuilding from the ground up, we’re (hopefully) just transitioning from a veteran team to a team that isn’t quite veteran yet but has potential. Overall trajectory is positive, but we may experience a slight dip this year...but I think the trend is still positive.
9/6/2019 8:38:29 AM
Honestly I would be disappointed with 7 wins or less even though we are "Rebuilding"Clemson is only team talent wise we aren't comparable too. I think 8 is what we get to but if we get above that then DD did a great job.
9/6/2019 8:40:22 AM
We gonna lose to Wake, prob another WF loss.
9/6/2019 9:11:38 AM
Tbh, 2 losses to Wake this season would be super disappointing
9/6/2019 9:29:21 AM
missed a T in the middle of the WF.
9/6/2019 11:26:33 AM
41-point favorites today. We took the foot off the gas at the end of the ECU game, probably will even sooner today. Will we cover the spread?
9/7/2019 12:22:38 PM
Anyone know how I can watch the us play western?[Edited on September 7, 2019 at 12:31 PM. Reason : ]
9/7/2019 12:31:22 PM
Anybody got a stream link?
9/7/2019 12:45:36 PM
WV is looking like absolute shit
9/7/2019 1:32:38 PM
We prob won't play a ranked team this year except #1
9/7/2019 3:46:55 PM
So I guess 41 was about right. Surprised to see us go for it on 4th down while up by 5 scores in the 4th quarter.
9/7/2019 4:58:59 PM
Team has some solid backs, but I feel like the passing game will haunt us if it doesn't get fixed soon. I'm not sold on a Doeren coached team, we'll always beat the scrubs but when the competition steps up we come up short. I will say this much, our schedule looks favorable this year.
9/7/2019 5:15:23 PM
^^Trying a field goal is way more disrespectful.
9/7/2019 5:17:21 PM
gotta use every opportunity we can to remind Western that they've never beaten an FBS team
9/7/2019 5:19:11 PM
Yeah I think the point of running on 4th was to just kill the clock
9/8/2019 3:38:33 PM
Bam is going to be on tops of alot of records when he is done here.
9/9/2019 8:25:34 AM
^I think Bam is a special talent, but he's not going to get enough carries to top any record lists and he's likely only going to be here for 3 years. Bam, Person, and Houston are going to be splitting carries the next few years barring any unforeseen attrition.
9/9/2019 9:37:38 AM
Pennix is buried on the depth chart. Wonder if he could switch positions?
9/9/2019 10:07:04 AM
Hasn't he already switched to a couple times?
9/9/2019 10:18:35 AM
Oh I don’t know. I just remembered him as a RB and wondered if he could be a WR maybe. Quick google search shows he was a safety in high school.
9/9/2019 10:54:20 AM
He has at least done DB to RB here already. He might have done Rb-DB-RBActually struggling to find proof he played DB here. I thought he switched for maybe a very short time period, but maybe I'm misremembering [Edited on September 9, 2019 at 11:01 AM. Reason : E]
9/9/2019 10:57:46 AM
I know it's early, and we've played truly terrible competition, but I have been really happy with Ingle. He is already showing himself to be the playmaking safety our defense needs and I was hoping for at the beginning of the year. With that said, I am really concerned with the rest of our secondary. If either Eastern or Western Carolina had even a serviceable QB, those scores could have looked very different.
9/9/2019 11:50:31 AM
9/9/2019 12:02:11 PM
^^i think our secondary as a whole has looked solid. and i'd say ECU's QB is serviceable. looks like probably our best secondary under DD...but secondary has always been a weakness for us under DD, so that's not say a ton.
9/9/2019 12:21:44 PM
9/9/2019 12:31:32 PM
^^ECUs QBs and WRs are pretty terrible. As a whole, they either missed or dropped on a lot of wide open passes. I guess I am just grouping them all together. Regardless, I agree that our secondary has always been bad (and worse than bad the past 2 years) under Doeren. I wouldn't call it our best until we play some actual competition.
9/9/2019 12:45:38 PM
Ahlers was solid last year but yeah, I think he’s surrounded by such garbage talent that it kinda cancels him out. Outside of the first drive of the game, he was (and their O overall) was a non factor. And it would’ve been nice to see WCU’s starter and star QB just to put some pressure on our D, but he was suspended so we didn’t get to see that. Our defense has looked solid but is completely untested so there are plenty of question marks still
9/9/2019 1:18:36 PM
Ball St. game set for 7 P.M.!!!!Finally! Kids soccer on Saturday mornings makes noon games almost impossible.
9/9/2019 1:39:26 PM
And late games makes travel a bitch for anyone who doesn't live in raleigh.
9/9/2019 1:51:56 PM
Well yeah, if you're a bitch who has to be in bed by 10pm.You bitch a lot.
9/9/2019 2:10:52 PM
TIL getting home at ~2 am is by 10 pm.i'm just bitching because the people that bitch about noon games thinks that evening games solve every problem in the world.
9/9/2019 2:58:36 PM
So I have to stand in the heat in the parking lot instead of in the stadium? Sweet The problem is the heat, lets move our games to Canada
9/9/2019 3:05:48 PM
^^If 2am is too late for you to be out on a Saturday night, perhaps you could look into renting a hotel room, or maybe staying with local friends (assuming you have friends)
9/9/2019 3:31:42 PM
LMAO imagine trolling that noon games > night games.
9/9/2019 3:38:04 PM
As somebody that rarely goes to games I actually think noon kick offs are good.
9/9/2019 4:10:18 PM
Of course that's the difference maker. No one gives a shit that our game at WV is at noon. It's literally unsafe to take a child to a September noon game. (If you have seats on the east side of the stadium)[Edited on September 9, 2019 at 4:24 PM. Reason : d]
9/9/2019 4:19:25 PM
State missed a real marketing opportunity to be "the noon team"
