Late coming back here...

They don't have the same skill set...and both are good shooters.

I've never said Westbrook is infallible. He's obviously not a great shooter and he forces shots and commits too many turnovers. My point has been that you can't blame the Thunder's failure on him. They've failed to build around him correctly and/or install a system that takes advantage of his skills. Even since Durant was there, all they pretty much run is screens, p-n-rs, and isos. It would be painful to watch if Westbrook wasn't so entertaining.

Maybe it will come out that he's uncoachable and refuses to run plays...but if you watch the Thunder play, you'll see that Westbrook maxes out what they can do. They were never going to contend for a championship this year, but they would have gone further in the playoffs if Carmelo hadn't been absolute garbage and George didn't lay his biggest playoff egg ever.

Now just hoping Lebron can keep it going and at least make it back to the Eastern Conference Finals. I'm almost glad that the Cavs kinda suck this year because it means we get to see Lebron go balls out in every game.

Did not think you'd see Cleveland pull a win with Lebron having a poor shooting night. Although the two shots he hit to tie it were strong. I really thought that last shot in regulation was going in.

I only watched the first half of the GS/NO game...when did the Pelicans' offense become so dynamic? I feel like they're a non-Boogie-superstar away from really contending with the Warriors.

And no one is going to touch Golden State unless Steph re-injures himself or KD gets hurt. They're unstoppable and will sweep anyone coming out of the East...unless it's the Celtics and Brad Stevens himself is worth a win or two.

The Pels are a lot better with Rondo playing up to his potential and Mirotic is pretty underrated. Boogie is a great player, but he's difficult to get along with, so a lot of people think they're better off without him. I know it's only two games, but I couldn't really see why everyone jumped on the Pels bandwagon after sweeping the Blazers and thought they could either beat the Ws or make it a 7 game series. If anything, I think the Blazers would have been a more competitive series for the Ws, since for whatever reason, Lillard has a tendency to torch them, especially in Portland.

Also, I think the HOU/GSW series will still be very competitive, assuming they meet. They're really the only team that can actually beat the Ws at their own game.

no need to say "young" when you mean inexperienced, then

it’s kind of assumed that when using a word like “young” in the context of the playoffs, that experience is a major factor

they are a force by virtue of winning their first round series (after being one of the best teams in the league during the last few months of the season) and not losing on their home court this round

I just don't think "it's very clear that the plan worked" when they're in an 0-2 hole in the semifinals versus a team missing their star player, but I like for teams to actually win before I crown them.

they are better positioned by virtue of their cap situation/current payroll

that has no bearing on their playoff outcome this season

Does Utah stand a chance of winning this series? I'm surprised they stole one in Houston.
They're playing well, but the conspiracy theorist in me thinks it's rigged to have the western finals be HOU v GSW for all the $$$.

While the major takeaway by the media from the Utah/Thunder series was that OKC's "big three" failed...it should have been that Utah is a force to be reckoned with.

I've sparingly watched Mitchell play throughout the year, but he's really fucking good. Like potentially (and playing like it right now) top 10-15 in the NBA good. He looks like a more athletic Damian Lillard out there. Not quite the handles as Lillard, but more explosive. When his three is falling...watch out. Ingles looks like he should be playing in a men's church league...but he's a great shooter and surprisingly athletic. Gobert is a black hole around the basket. Favors is solid. Crowder is a top defender and above average spot up shooter. Exum, Burks, and O'Neal are okay...but they're just in there to spell the starters and not fuck up. And that's all with Rubio not playing.

Bottom line is that they're a really solid all-around team. They're going to win at least one game and might even push this to 7...and all bets are off then.

^^ there's so much more to love about Ingles than just his terrific 3 pt shooting. That dude is perhaps the best trash talker, get-in-your-head player in the league. I went to a bunch of Jazz games this year, and I think he got an opposing player to shove him almost every game
