Honestly couldn't care less what people do in terms of protesting, standing, kneeling, whatever. I'm just tired of the media/news just going on and on about it honestly. Give me highlights and game breakdowns, not the latest tweet about one side being upset at the other side. If I wanted bullshit I'd watch Fox News.

i'm surely in the minority here but my scorching hot take is that i wouldnt care if they quit playing the anthem at games altogether.that's not out of some personal protest. it adds nothing to my sporting event experience. maybe i'm a shitty american, idk. First, the commentators during the game do a good job of rarely talking about it...at least compared to what you're getting on news sites.Second...get your NFL highlights from nfl.com. They're extensive and they're just the highlights. ESPN sucks for highlights. They show like two or three good plays and they only focus on the star players.
9/26/2017 4:22:27 PM
^^ that’s the best course of action and not a hot take at all, hathere’s no reason to play it for non-international games
9/26/2017 4:29:51 PM
Sure, but can you imagine the 'MURICA! crowd's reaction if they stopped playing it? They are running a business, so that idea is a non-starter.More in the realm of possibility, what will the NFL do if to teams keep choosing to sit the anthem out, off the field, like they did prior to 2009 when the NFL mandated their presence on the sidelines during it? yeah it's never gonna happen. because the outrage would be incredible. but i could totally see the nfl going back to having the players in the locker room.
9/26/2017 5:18:47 PM
it’d be a classic case of short term loss for long term gain/benefitI also think that there wouldn’t be much outrage over it. jingoism has gotten a bit out of hand.also, only those in the stands would have a say, as all of the leagues get a vast majority of their revenue from things other than ticket sales[Edited on September 26, 2017 at 5:33 PM. chiefs signed our 7th rd kicker off practice squad... dont panthers get anything for this?http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20825398/kansas-city-chiefs-put-cairo-santos-ir-sign-rookie-harrison-butker
9/26/2017 9:40:39 PM
No.Any team can sign a player off of another teams practice squad, but they have to be added to their active roster.[Edited on September 26, 2017 at 9:57 PM. Reason : As in, you can't sign a player from another practice squad to your practice squad.]

They have to pay him for at minimum 3 weeks, I believe. To dissuade teams from picking up someone for one week from the team they're about to play.
9/26/2017 10:12:38 PM
Yeah, but no compensation for the Panthers.

^^^ ratings were up this last weekend anything to quell jingoism is a good thing, outraged idiots be damned (and there aren’t really THAT many people who are truly outraged. they’re the same people who will be OUTRAGED at the next thing that’ll make them forgetabout being mad at the NFL)[Edited on September 28, 2017 at 1:09 AM. Neat.

Patriots aren't championship caliber this year, but I don't care, winning in that building will always be impressive as long as Belichick and Brady are there. Great showing by the offense (finally).
10/1/2017 4:07:01 PM
^^^same people outraged about players kneeling during the anthem because they don't respect the flag are the ones upset about taking down statues of people who fought against that flag.

Kurt Coleman expected to be out for about a month

Butker, who Kansas City picked up since their kicker, Santos, was injured, just missed his first and only FG attempt of the season. Meanwhile, Gano is doing well.

dammit, Cam
10/4/2017 6:08:09 PM
yah not a good look
10/4/2017 7:17:19 PM
He's not wrong, though. It is a little out-of-the-ordinary to have someone like Jourdan who actually knows her X's and O's, rather than some reporter who was hired partially because she looks pretty on TV, ask a question about route running. Maybe he was complimenting her for not being a vapid idiot.
10/4/2017 7:22:39 PM
Apparently there was a convo afterwards between the two and it didn't go well fwiw
10/4/2017 7:31:33 PM
^^probably not though.[Edited on October 4, 2017 at 7:33 PM. Reason : It was stupid and he shouldn't have said it. ]

i hope he doubles down, the media has a week long melt over it and the team rallies behind him for the reason of the season as a result
10/4/2017 7:40:12 PM
10/4/2017 9:46:31 PM

It's kinda shitty that he doesn't know who she is, since she asks him questions at every press conference.
10/4/2017 11:37:40 PM
^^ which local reporters have been shitting on him for his entire career?
10/5/2017 12:58:11 AM
Local? None that I'm aware of.
10/5/2017 1:07:19 AM
so there’s no excuse for him not to know the names of the local reporters
10/5/2017 1:15:50 AM
to be fair, one of our local reporters is a computer generated algorithm that they put such little effort into that its named "person"
10/5/2017 1:24:27 AM
I think most people would rather Cam focus on football, not becoming BFFs with the media.
10/5/2017 1:29:45 AM
People have hated Cam for no reason his whole career, and now he gave them a reason to.It was a shitty thing to say, and he's going to get so much more crap from this than any other QB would for saying the exact same thing. He could have the best game of his career this week, but the quote will be all anyone will want to talk about, while the sporting world loves Ezekiel Elliot on mediocre days and is willing to ignore his far worse treatment of a woman.
10/5/2017 1:30:29 AM
^^ are you BFF’s with people you deal with (and know by name) on a daily basis?
10/5/2017 1:35:41 AM
of all the angles of this overblown story, are you the most upset at him supposedly not knowing her name?
10/5/2017 1:37:57 AM
what do you think is overblown about this story?him not even knowing her name gets to the heart of this story it’s obvious that he thinks less of her because she’s a woman. that’s awful, and it’s sad that you’re attempting to defend him
10/5/2017 1:46:32 AM
10/5/2017 1:54:08 AM
that isn’t an answer
