bad time for Dunand to remind us he's one of the conference leaders in errors

^ keeping them fresh for innings 10-18

Commentators repeatedly talk about past NC State Shit and then ask "How does that happen?" lol

I don't think Ozzie fields that ball cleanly.

If these umpires actually called this game objectively, their sisters probably wouldn't let them stick it in them later tonight, so damn.

I didn't say we weren't going to see NC State shit in this game, just that we hadn't yet in the 4th inning.

They were just a better team than us across the board. They've got legit MLB 1st round picks at the top of the order and an All SEC closer. The giant Jelly guy is a projected 1st rounder also in 2018. We hung for a while, but the better team usually wins in baseball.

Still not sure why we didn't bring Staley or O'Donnell in earlier, but I'm not sure it would've made much of a difference.

Decent end to an otherwise disappointing year. At least we didn't lose to Davidson

Who else do we have that's eligible and likely to go high enough?

borrowed from PP:

Redshirt Sophmores
Austin Staley
Tim Naughton

Juniors and Red Shirt Juniors
Cody Beckman
Evan Braband
Brian Brown
Andy Cosgrove
Brock Deatherage
Tommy DeJuneas
Joe Dunand
Josh McLain
Evan Mendoza
Joe O'Donnell
Stephan Pitarra
Shane Shepard
Zach Usselman

no idea what would be "high enough" for some of these guys since they basically have no leverage if they are drafted as a senior after coming back to school

pretty sure we haven't had anyone else (players or recruits) picked through 10 rounds (315 picks). draft finishes up tomorrow at noon.

^ i heard somewhere that he had the best ERA in the ACC

Even if it's top 10, that counts for something.

not super shocking; if he was gonna go, it would've been in the last few rounds.

think he had the best ERA in the conference prior to our first game of the regional, when he gave up 3 runs and only got 1 out - not sure where that put him. i'm no draft expert by any means but MLB teams pretty much don't care about college stats but about tools, pitches, velocity, injury history, etc. Piedmonte sat for three years after Tommy John surgery so that's probably a concern for some (although TJ isn't the concern it used to be). sometimes it just doesn't make sense to me who gets drafted and who doesn't... Chris Overman was virtually unhittable as the closer on our CWS team and never got picked, but I'm sure there were other factors involved.

until someone who spends more time doing this than me makes a 2018 edition.........we won both games of the double header against Seton Hall today 8-4 and 3-1. Brock Deatherage hit a homer in both games and our SP was lights out.
