Yes agreed. You should read the article before you blindly defend this conservative.[Edited on December 20, 2018 at 1:29 PM. Reason : .]

Warren officially running.
12/31/2018 9:03:20 AM
Just a younger Hillary, also weaker.
12/31/2018 2:04:06 PM
I think she missed her shot in 2016, could have been the one to unify both the Bernie and Hillary wings of the party. She's still got the best platform, but there are better messengers this time around.
12/31/2018 3:43:57 PM
Of the 150+ people who have either filed or are publicly exploring a run in 2020, here are the ones I would personally consider, sorted by age:Andrew Yang, 43Eric Garcetti, 47Cory Booker, 49Elizabeth Warren, 69Michael Bloomberg, 76Despite the poor handling of her heritage Warren would still have my vote if I had to decide today. And I'd like to see someone younger like Booker or maybe Julian Castro (44) as a VP candidate.
12/31/2018 4:16:25 PM
feel like every other writer who I really like who lives in LA hates Garcetti
12/31/2018 5:15:49 PM
I'm surprised Bloomberg is in your list, he's a worst-case-scenario for meI did really like Warren's kick-off video though, I don't recall any candidate ever putting the wealth disparity with black families so front and center, and it's long past time for that to be brought up. Also probably doesn't hurt that blacks vote for democrats at 90+% rates, and black women absolutely despise Trump.I don't really have an ideal candidate at this point, and I def think the drama between Beto and Sanders ppl is completely ridiculous. Anyone that's not Trump that's getting air time to spread a non-Trumpian message should be praised at this point (except Hillary).
1/1/2019 1:41:14 AM
Bloomberg is awful
1/1/2019 12:15:26 PM
1/2/2019 10:54:26 AM
lol why is Bloomberg on any list? What even would be his constituency? If you want a centrist why would you choose a boring old guy and not an exciting young guy like Beto?
1/2/2019 11:07:16 AM
bloomberg is really rich
1/2/2019 11:50:29 AM
I must follow way more Beto O'Rourke supporters than Bernie Sanders supporters on Twitter; my feed is always filled with O'Rourke supporters attacking Sanders for allowing his supporters to attack O'Rourke, but I can't say that I've seen any Sanders supporters attacking O'Rourke on my feed.
1/2/2019 3:18:13 PM
I've definitely seen it on mine, but it's just criticism of his voting record and lack of progressive vision. This is how a primary works.
1/2/2019 3:21:52 PM
sanders supporters: posts beto's voting record, posts where he broke his pledge on accepting oil industry moneycentrist dems: OMG YOU BERNIE BRO'S ARE ALWAYS ATTACKING DEMOCRATS, WHY DON'T YOU STOP ATTACKING DEMOCRATS, YOU ARE WHY TRUMP WON REEEEEE
1/2/2019 3:43:21 PM
Voting records are literally the only way to see how a politician ACTUALLY BEHAVES. “Attacking” him for that is totally justifiable. The oil industry donations from individuals is pretty worthless given the composition of his total donations.
1/2/2019 3:59:37 PM
Except that he signed a pledge and violated it
1/3/2019 5:23:57 AM
Tulsi Gabbard running now, didn't see that one coming.
1/11/2019 7:38:54 PM
1/13/2019 8:57:49 PM
We didn't have that in 2016 so not sure why we would have that in 2020.
1/13/2019 9:07:12 PM
More Bernie people voted for Clinton than Clinton people voted for Obama.
1/13/2019 9:47:16 PM
Defensive much? Kinda smells like guilt. But I'm not hating on Bernie or his supporters. Trump ultimately won based on few thousand votes in a handful of states. That's a thin margin. Anything that needlessly causes some would-be Democratic voters to stay home is bad. That's all I'm saying. The other side is unified and there is no need to actively encourage divisions amongst ourselves. We're obviously going to be stuck with a lot of candidates this cycle, which isn't ideal, but let's not exacerbate the problem. To refer back to what I originally posted: The primary is still a year away. We don't have to start slitting each others throats just yet.
1/13/2019 11:44:18 PM
Yea defensive bc you perpetuate a myth of the last election. We should find warts of bad candidates now and publicize them to ensure those candidates don't win the nomination. It doesn't need to be ultra negative but, as a progressive, I'd likt to highlight where a candidate meets my values vs where they are basically DINO. Whatever candidate wins the nom is gonna get torn apart by fox News anyway. Better to develop defenses now.
1/14/2019 7:21:23 AM
sanders ran a civil campaign against clinton and campaigned for her after the primary, gtfo here with that "this time we need to be civil" nonsense
1/14/2019 7:36:58 AM
Seems likely that AOC could play king (or queen) maker. I hope she doesn't stay out of the primary.
1/14/2019 10:51:00 AM
she's 29
1/14/2019 11:27:16 AM
he was talking about an endorsement, not her running
1/14/2019 11:29:01 AM
ok, my bad
1/14/2019 11:34:17 AM
1/14/2019 12:04:10 PM
uncivil actions in this thread such as pointing out the history of other candidates zero people care what a current or former GOP member thinks they should do in the primary
1/14/2019 12:57:30 PM
I don’t know anything about Castro but he does have a funny shaped head.
1/14/2019 1:50:01 PM
^^I'm fine with the pointing out. But the idea of "there is zero reason to say anything nice" is not constructive. But good to know - only people who have been Democrats since birth can post in this thread.
1/14/2019 2:20:30 PM
That's not what I said though? I said we (as in actual left-wingers) shouldn't be praising conservative Democrats this early in the primary. In my honest opinion, they're the enemy and we shouldn't praise them ever, but I held back

good pieceIf Bernie Sanders Is Your First Choice, That's Allowedhttps://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2019/01/if-bernie-sanders-is-your-first-choice-thats-allow.html

^niceIf anyone can read this and still think Kamala Harris is a suitable candidate I'd like to know why:https://jacobinmag.com/2017/08/kamala-harris-trump-obama-california-attorney-general

among the democratic establishment, i know a dem fundraising couple who wasn't impressed with her when they were introduced as a campaign fundraising feeler not long ago. they still haven't decided who to back, last we spoke they said don't sleep on hickenlooper but i have no idea who they are favoring at this point. they were definite no on warren, gabbard, biden, sanders, clinton (they had previously supported both clintons), de blasio, bloomberg, and klobuchar (maybe a couple others i'm forgetting). they spent a long time asking my opinions about o'rourke, of whom i do not have favorable opinions.
1/23/2019 11:16:38 AM
the left is going to purity test themselves into oblivion
1/23/2019 2:35:02 PM
Kamala Harris sent mothers to prison because their kids missed school. Is that seriously not a dealbreaker for you (on top of all of her other disgusting acts as a prosecutor)?
1/23/2019 2:36:36 PM
i'm just saying they're not going to be able to settle on anyone
1/23/2019 2:41:52 PM
I think we should all state that if our preferred candidate doesn't win the nomination than we'll either vote 3rd party or sit it out, it's been working well so far
1/23/2019 2:47:52 PM
Policy matters. Harris, Gillibrand, O'Rourke, Booker, etc are empty heads filled with money. They are bad for the country. If we pick them, Trump will win, or we will find ourselves with another Trump in 2028.The only option so far is Warren, who will also probably lose.[Edited on January 23, 2019 at 2:55 PM. Reason : .]

I'm not convinced that Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren can't win the primaries and defeat Donald Trump in the general election. However, if another candidate like Kamala Harris or Beto O'Rourke hypothetically wins the primaries, then, knowing that either candidate would be a better president than Donald Trump, why not vote for either of these two candidates in the general election? For the sake of argument, let's assume that you're vote is in a swing district within a swing state.[Edited on January 23, 2019 at 3:50 PM. "most people", but not you?
1/23/2019 4:21:30 PM
My vote doesn’t matter, I’m not in a swing state. So yeah probably not.
1/23/2019 4:30:07 PM
He wasted his vote last time too
1/23/2019 4:42:18 PM
lol my district voted 80% clinton. get over it.
1/23/2019 4:47:02 PM
I forgot a time traveler told you your vote was unnecessary
1/23/2019 4:48:34 PM
that's the kind of attitude that bleeds over to people in states that aren't so safe, or perhaps even swing states because no one single vote matters statistically
1/23/2019 4:51:56 PM
Clinton is way ahead anyways, I'm going to make a protest vote or maybe just stay home to send a message!
