I'm pretty sure the reader was never used on Bernard. What episode? The only other time I recall it being used was on Charlotte when she approached the rescue team.

The reader doesn't check to see if they are hosts, it checks for the presence of the restraint that keeps them in the park.

Huh? Scanner was only used on man in black, who it cleared. Then he shot his daughter based on assumption that nobody saw his profile card cause he hid it, then they show it in the dead daughters hand (along with showing how it got there afterwards). Implication is clear that everyone there in that scene is/was human. Then man in black started cutting into his arm cause he's losing it. If he turns out to be immportal/a droid, having accomplished his life goal without knowledge of said achievement, that will surprise me.

The disjointed and time-hopping story telling can be annoying at times, but overall is a good thing.

Episode 8 that focused on the Ghost Nation was absolutely beautiful and compelling, and greatly contributed to me calling this one of the best shows on TV now.

So Ford is still alive, digitally in the cradle right? He is what is always fighting back against the current park tender's attempts to get control of the situation...

In the finale we can expect all the hosts to end up in that lake, right? Is it going to be longer than an hour?

Someone smarter than me: in the flashback to MIB's party in Episode 9, MIB says no more games, then Ford says something like "we have one more game to play" after MIB leaves. What do you think that's a reference to, exacty? I'm guessing the conflict between Ford and the MIB, the reason Ford offed himself, is due to MIB's project of recording/collecting data of all guest interactions in the park.

Despite being set in the future, these story lines seem to highlight the current problems with internet giants recording and leverging our data without our explicit consent (you all read all the EULAs right?)

Last scene with MIB is far in the future that’s confirmed. However seems people are looking at the fidelity. That though has been achieved. I took the last scene is they got so good at copying people and predicting behavior that the fidelity was almost to perfect. MIB mission is now as a host to show choice and actually deviate from his fidelity or algorithm if you will.

So with Delos they were trying to create the fidelity and perfect the copying. But the next step is more pure AI where you want deviation. However no matter how hard the MIB tries to make different choices in the Park and deviate he still ends up back in the same spot with the same results.

Agree don't love the direction the show went. Just don't have interest in seeing what Dolores does out in the "real world." I don't care about the machines taking over. A lot of work to get to a story that seems to have been told. But maybe they got another direction for it.

I was more hopeful of a direction where the AI was being used in some way as clones, maybe allowing for example a world leader to be killed and then replaced with an AI clone that Delos Corp was controlling or something like that direction.

As a side question, how does Ford and William work in terms of their motives with the park? Ford obviously knew that William was tracking all the guests and mapping their minds. So was it just Ford was happy to put his stories together while William had his side business? Just seems like an odd relationship there. Was Ford against what William was doing? And if so why continue to help the process for many years? And is the 4 million individually mapped brains in the forge really that valuable?

^^ the AI as clones is fundamentally the same premise as all other killer-robots-take-over-globe

What would have been more unique to me is showing more different types of peoples' interactions in the park-- i think there's fertile ground there that's not rehashing AI robot plots.

The current direction actually would lend itself well to this too... pick a person that visited the park, show their time in the park doing whatever, then show how the now free hosts will use this person somehow.

However, i'm not a professional writer, and they've done a good job so far, so maybe they'll have some surprises in the next season

I loved parts of season 2 specifically the Delos in a cage episode. Yet I feel that finale was an utter disaster and I'm not in the minority. I just sat there getting more and more annoyed as the Nolanisms rolled in. My wife checked the fuck out and I didn't blame her. It's almost like Ed Harris is Lebroning this show.

It was particularly jarring since I just watched Dunkirk this weekend with a group. We all enjoyed it but all agreed that the time hopping narrative was fucking unnecessary. Tell it straight younger Nolan, just tell it to me straight.

The Warworld opener was badass. I'd love some kind of spinoff or something that shows all of the different worlds they have.

S3 definitely seems more linear (so far at least). Dolores wants to lead the robotic uprising against the humans and it seems that Maeve may be the only that can really pose a threat to her.

I don't know how he hasn't already figured it out. When he found her in that tunnel she was bleeding out from a gunshot wound and could barely walk. Minutes later she was completely back to full health after whatever internal systems she has repaired themselves. So he's gotta know something is up with her.

In episode 2, we saw Delores and Hale along with 4 pearls that were taken out of the park. One of the pearls was described during their discussion as being Bernard. We found out in episode 4 that 2 of the pearls were used to create Connells and Musashi, leaving 1 pearl unaccounted for.

It seemed implied to me that Delores and Hale have already created all of the bodies before leaving the Philippines, so who do we expect is the last pearl?

Haven't figured that out yet. If Caleb is the worst of them as Dempsey Jr. called him before he died, not sure why he'd be allowed to roam free. We haven't learned enough yet about why some of the outliers are allowed to roam free while some have to be locked up.
