Where can I read up on Bernie's proposed budget for supporting all the programs he is proposing? I'm a scrub when it comes to political knowledge but I can't see how the things he is promising ($15 minimum wage, wipe of college debt, increased healthcare reform) will work.

Thanks for the link.He isn't proposing to "wipe student debt" per my last post. From his website, he "proposed making public colleges and universities tuition-free and substantially reducing student debt, in a plan that would cost about $75 billion a year" by "imposing a tax on Wall Street speculators that would generate about $300 billion in revenue."It's interesting to note that the $15 minimum wage isn't mentioned as a proposed plan on that website.

Because those countries are clearly a direct comparison to the US. Nope, no sir, no differences there. Let's just lift and shift.
2/10/2016 2:24:52 PM
but we won't accept the idea that the U.S. inherently can't accomplish great things that several countries have accomplished simply because we are the u.s.. In fact, we've been indoctrinated to believe just the opposite. Not only do we believe we can do the great things advanced nations are doing, we believe we can do them BETTER.
2/10/2016 2:39:44 PM
i'm not sure what role the government is supposed to play in paying for increased wages unless you are expecting the government to subsidize the increase. i'd have to google the numbers but increasing it for federal employees/contractors seems like it wouldn't be a huge expense since it would apply to a pretty small percentage of expenses
2/10/2016 3:07:33 PM
BTW, Clinton is going to come out of NH with the same number if delegates as Bernie because of super delegates. Like I said a whole back, he's going to have to win about 70-30 in a lot of places to make it interesting. I think there's a decent chance she had a hard time in SC, her appeal with the working class has never been lower, but there will be a major push from the party establishment there. I won't be surprised at stories of shenanigans by local officials

2/10/2016 3:26:10 PM
You can't really look at super delegates at this point in the race. Sure, they've declared for Hilary in the vast majority but (in theory) they'll need to switch their votes when/if Bernie really gains momentumGood article: http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2016/02/after-sanders-big-win-in-new-hampshire-establishme.html

He did shockingly well in Iowa when polls up to the day before had him as a double digit dog. The guy from Vermont doing well in New Hampshire is not a surprise, how well he is doing in demos that were thought to be safe for Hillary is a surprise. Clinton will win SC, maybe even by a wide margin as predicted, but if it's 60-40 or closer this thing will turn nasty in a hurry.
2/10/2016 4:18:38 PM

I was listening to talk radio today and the host talked about how we tend to ignore what's going on in the other party's primary bc we have our own issues to discuss. That being said, I haven't paid much attention recently to the normal democratic sites/shows I check out - so, is there any discussion amongst the other side about Mrs. Clinton piling up delegates only to have an indictment drop before the convention and then the VP swoops in to save the day? Still seems strange to me he stayed out of this primary with so few viable candidates.

Clinton just constantly sounds like a lying boring politician. At least she has the big bird vote cornered tonight.

I feel like every reaction she has is "I agree with Senator Sanders...but, I disagree with Senator Sanders."
2/11/2016 9:25:24 PM
I don't agree with a lot of Sanders ideas but at least when he talks I believe he is telling the truth. Every time Hildog talks it just sounds like blatant lies. Shame she is going to get the nomination.
2/11/2016 9:30:19 PM
she has to beat him without angering his supporters. its a very fine line to walk but she's the perfect person for pulling off that type of shit.[Edited on February 11, 2016 at 9:31 PM. Reason : Platform: sanders has the best ideas, but I can get stuff done]
2/11/2016 9:30:43 PM
Hillary keeps calling out Bernie, but Bernie keeps calling out the Republicans. Only one seems to care that the party stays united post-primary.
2/11/2016 9:35:52 PM
Hilary's dog whistles about personal attacks on obama should be insulting to black voters. She's essentially saying "look, he disagreed with the black president, I didn't, therefore blacks should vote for me" The same sort of logic has backfired with women.
2/11/2016 11:19:00 PM
If Hillary16 is the same as Hillary08 (which let's face it, she hasn't changed very much other than having Benghazi and the e-mail scandal on her record), then isn't Bernie this year's Obama? Maybe not the same message or platform, but the energy, inspiration, and enthusiasm he is creating. So why does Hillary keep trying to peg herself as the natural successor? "You like Obama? Then vote for me and get 8 more years of the same!"
2/12/2016 1:58:32 AM
maybe it's because bernie keeps shitting on obama? his bullshit about obama's leadership vs. congress was astounding and alone should cost him the nomination.

2/17/2016 7:58:26 AM
2/17/2016 7:59:04 AM
There was already data posted above which showed a huge swing nationally among African-American voters. I don't know what the SC numbers are, but it's just one state and it's still early.
2/17/2016 3:53:25 PM
Thats simply a misleading way or sorting data. How does Bernie do amongst evangelical voters? You would have to factor that in along with the % of blacks who are evangelical before making crazy generalizations about race.
2/17/2016 4:55:38 PM
8 years ago when x% of women wanted Hillary and y% of blacks wanted Obama I don't recall ever seeing a poll of black women. I'm sure it existed, but was not something that people were looking at in a widespread way. Any demographic-based data is going to have overlaps with other demographics. But if the question is can Bernie win black votes, the answer is clearly yes as he is polling better and better with the African American community as time goes on.But if you want to know, 15% of African Americans belong to evangelical protestant churches. 59% go to historically black protestant churches (for example, AME Zion), and 5% are Catholic.I don't think that information matters in any possible way.
2/18/2016 12:38:39 AM
It matters a lot because these type of protestants align with the right and find socialism deplorable. Rights come from god and not the government.Theres no other way these pastors wuld live in million dollar homes and drive 100,000 dollar cars to massive super churches and get away with it. Hi
