Well, that's kind of depressing.

I've always lived in rural areas, and I understand the utility and occasional legitimate uses of firearms, but it seems like the end game here is to have all parties paralyzed by fear of "the other" and armed to the teeth just in case something happens. Sounds like a great plan and a healthy society. What could possibly go wrong?

In case you got it twisted, though, the good guy with the gun wasn't able to stop anyone from being shot. He shot the shooter after the dude left the restaurant, by which point the shooter'd already shot two people. Whomp whomp.
