So the dude basically got away with using force against a woman twice (and once in public) without ever being disciplined.I'd be surprised if there isn't a third time, to be honest.

iirc he was only investigated for sexual battery the second time. "investigated" doesn't mean he was guilty of the crime as you seem to assume. (and the fact that he wasn't charged also doesn't mean he wasn't guilty either, i realize that).here's an article about him and his legal troubles that was published 6 days agohttp://www.newsobserver.com/2014/09/03/4119518/nc-state-football-thornton-reverses.html[Edited on September 9, 2014 at 12:44 PM. Reason : and he was suspended for the misdeamonr assult charge]

Apparently the problem is you are are either raised to KNOW that you never put your hands on a woman whether it's a punch, kick, grab whatever...or If it's just an arm grab and a push into a wall it's nothing serious.[Edited on September 9, 2014 at 12:51 PM. Reason : ...]

^^ look, I'd love for Shad to become a changed man. I'm just not holding my breath. Just playing the odds, here.Serious question. Is he still with this same girl? Because if so, sweet baby jesus, this story ain't ovah.

^^the problem is you don't know what happened but you're pretending like you do.i'm all about equal rights. if a woman gets in your face and starts pushing you, you can push her away from you. from what i read, that's what supposedly happened, but i don't know. but if it is, then i'm okay with the suspension he was given. in no way does that mean i condone punching a woman. if they were simply arguing and he overacted and violently threw her into a wall , or if he punched her, i agree that the punishment should have been much more severe.^i'm not really arguing with any of that. who knows if it's in his past or if gets in trouble again.[Edited on September 9, 2014 at 12:58 PM. I'm not talking punishment at all. this began when you disputed the fact that I compared Shadrach to Ray Rice. saying that the degree of assault on the woman is what made the situation different. I was simply stating that in my world there is no differentiating the two, whether it's a punch or a kick or push you never lay your hand on a woman.

So what you're saying is that if someone is in your face, yelling, and pushing you (shouldn't matter if it's a man or woman)... and you push them away from you... it's the same as delivering a knock-out blow, knocking someone off their feet, rendering them unconcious and almost killing them so you have to drag them around? yes, I dispute the fact that pushing someone away from you is the same as almost killing someone with a fierce uppercut. i do dispute that.[Edited on September 9, 2014 at 1:12 PM. No, dude. He's saying that you have the responsibility to diffuse the situation, not escalate it. You don't get to stand your ground with someone much physically weaker than you.Beside, shoving a woman (who you're dating, no less) is a sign that you are willing to use force to get your way with someone you're in a relationship with. That's not healthy.I'm getting way off topic here. We're a bad football team.[Edited on September 9, 2014 at 1:22 PM. Reason : Like, 5 win season bad if lucky.]

easy to say when you don't know the situation. sometimes it's not possible to "diffuse a situation" when a hysterical person is in your face yelling and shoving you. of course, you do share some responsibility for dating a crazy person in the first place. if that's the case. which it may or not be. we don't know.i'm still saying 6 wins.
