You get full value when they nerf a card so if you think they might nerf it its good to keep until then.

Oh Yeah, I gotcha.
2/15/2016 8:52:50 AM
sooo many control priests right now
2/18/2016 3:03:34 PM
This game needs standard and the new expansion. The meta is preeeeetty stale at this point. I can barely muster the desire to complete my quests.

Nice!

http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/20058061/heed-the-whispers-of-the-old-gods-3-11-2016More details here. C'thun is interesting because at face value it seems too slow. However, if you're able to pull off a really buffed C'thun, it's like dropping a nuke.I want to use Corrupted Healbot in a deck with Auchenai Soulpriest so bad!
3/11/2016 1:42:19 PM
I think they need to add in some sort of card kinda like Loatheb you can use to stall out certain decks. For instance making all battlecry cards cost 5 more next turn instead of spells. I feel like maybe one of those spider cards does something similar already but its a 1/4 and sucks. That would hard counter a deck like C'Thun or even secret paladin when you know its coming.
3/11/2016 1:59:53 PM
i thought these concepts were pretty neat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyhPG3F73Rg&index=1&list=PLk6q5jA8jEz2GmHWzjm11PXw-GFcwNALo

From what I've read, there will be 16 cards that interact with C'thun in some way. That's WAY too many in my opinion. You're telling me that if I choose not to build a deck around C'thun that's 17 total cards from the new expansion that I'll have no incentive to use in a deck. Obviously, we've yet to see all of the cards but the two released so far are just vanilla stat cards with a "Deathrattle: give your C'thun +2/+2" and "At the end of your turn, give your C'thun +1/+1". They better make at least some of them good on their own or that's nearly 13% of the new expansion that will be unplayable unless you want to make a gimmicky C'thun deck.
3/11/2016 3:31:54 PM
As opposed to 13% of an expansion that will have no use at all? I'm glad they are at least committing to making certain types of decks viable.
3/12/2016 9:27:07 AM
With the move to Standard they are changing how they want decks to go anyways. Prior to that it was basically keep using the same sort of decks as before and just sub in the best cards from the new expansion. Now they are going to try to make it where you build most of your deck from the new expansion stuff and fill in with the best cards from the previous ones that are still available.
3/14/2016 8:32:29 AM
^That's a good point, actually. Two interesting new cards revealed today. I appreciate the creativity but I'm not really a fan of either and not sure they will see much play.http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/20056288/whispers-of-the-old-gods-forbidden-but-not-forgotten-3-17-2016
3/17/2016 2:47:39 PM
I could see these getting some play especially for decks that sometimes have a hard time curving out. If nothing else this gives you some flexibility on those turns when you dont really have any good options.
3/18/2016 8:21:27 AM
All the corrupted cards are probably going to be must includes in Arena. Except for the shitty paladin heal, which probably won't get that much play.
3/18/2016 8:23:04 AM
I have a hard time liking that Priest card. Yeah, you could get lucky and get a nice minion to drop from it, especially if you wait until you have 8 mana. But you could also get some pretty shitty drops too: anything with a battlecry, Cho, Doomsayer, Majordomo, and so on. Do you really want to devote two card slots to a card that unpredictable when you could include something you know you'll get use out of? If you look at your average Control Priest deck list, every card in there has a very specific use. It's also not a list that is overly concerned with being mana efficient and putting big threats and pressure on the board. So, where does that leave Forbidden Shaping? A lot of people seem to like this card but I'm just not seeing it being played consistently to much success. I hope I'm wrong.I'm not much of a Mage player but Forbidden Flame looks like a strictly worse Flame Lance. Idk though. The Paladin card (Forbidden Heal) is strange. It doesn't obviously fit into any current Paladin archetype. I used to love playing a Healadin deck back before Naxx and this would have been amazing back then. But now, I'm not so sure. Maybe with some hard removal a Control Paladin could emerge and Forbidden Healing could fit in there?
3/18/2016 9:35:01 AM
agree on the usefulness of those types of cards in constructed play, but in arena I find cards with random outcomes to be much more useful. Finally got 12 in arena the other night, previous high was 8
3/20/2016 12:23:55 PM
Good bye and good riddance to the fucking Druid bullshit.Enjoy!http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/20097355/keeping-hearthstone-fresh-4-20-2016

owl knife juggler and leper gnome are all basically useless now
4/20/2016 10:08:17 PM
i dont see how knife juggler is useless now; its just not as strong early game.
4/20/2016 10:11:12 PM
which is win it needs to be the strongest, and is now a massive buff to priests who can cabal it. also it can't contest northshire or zombie chow now, which was it's responsibility in face hunter.
4/20/2016 10:22:07 PM
^ Good points.
4/21/2016 7:04:39 AM
Just because its not strong where it used to be doesn't mean its useless; its still a strong combo card that still has synergies. I agree it may not be as prevalent as it used to be but who knows with the new standard coming. You also don't have to worry about zombie chow anymore.

BF change for rogues seems to be gathering the most complaints.

good review of card nerfs by Kripparian. Yeah he looks like a homeless bum but he has good commentary:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmqXiKBInEU
4/21/2016 6:33:38 PM
I know I talk about Priest a lot but I guess that's changing now since I probably won't be playing it much for a while. Such a shitty expansion for my favorite class. RIP
4/21/2016 8:51:17 PM
4/22/2016 9:28:43 AM
Yeah until we see what those plans are its hard to comment but I think 4 mana was a bit harsh maybe 3 would have been better. Weapon + Deadly + BF is a 3 dmg flame strike so seems pretty weak now.
4/22/2016 9:52:13 AM
Yeah I thought it would have been fine to leave at 2 mana for a board clear that uses your weapon. 4 is a bit ridiculous. We will have to see what new cards they have in mind.
4/22/2016 10:25:20 AM
I would like to get more into this game. That said, is it worth it to buy the Old Gods pre-launch bundle thing?
4/24/2016 1:05:24 PM
If you play it a fair amount, definitely.
4/24/2016 2:26:47 PM
Yep, those 50 plus the 13 free packs will get you going. Plus since a lot of cards are dropping out of standard you don't have as much of a hill to climb in terms of collection.
4/25/2016 9:52:43 AM
13 free packs?
4/25/2016 4:40:09 PM
I assume he is talking about if you are just starting the game for the first time

4/26/2016 2:54:56 PM
Wait so we all get a free legendary C'thun?
4/26/2016 3:02:21 PM
Yeah. Things are based around buffing/summoning it.
4/26/2016 4:46:53 PM
Yep, and a few minions that interact with him as well.
4/26/2016 4:46:58 PM
I have yet to play a game where anyone even got their C'Thun off before they were dead so I dont know how viable that deck is going to be. Maybe people still dont have all the cards or the best setup quite yet since its only been one day and all haha.
4/27/2016 8:25:28 AM
C'thun is the epitome of a 'win more' card. I've not seen it save or end a game for anyone. Its minions may as well just be taunt minions.
4/27/2016 9:27:07 AM
^ & ^^It's a lot of work but it's interesting and fun for me to try for if not practical. I managed a couple times last night to use cthun with whatever the double battlecry card was. Did 48 damage in one game yesterday.
4/27/2016 10:37:15 AM
I played someone with the name Lionheart the other day I was wondering if it was you haha
4/27/2016 10:41:56 AM
C'thun can be entertaining but its nothing compared to yogg. That shit is 100% troll card but hilarious to watch.
4/27/2016 12:41:06 PM
So far I've only died once to yogg pyroblasting my face
