you don't know who has had a shitty day, so don't say good morning.I feel like people who are complaining about this issue also use the term "microaggression" frequently.

How about, it's none of your business so don't ask?Why not ask them how much they have in the bank or if they're circumcised?Yes, in most cases it's a fairly innocuous question, but it's also none of your business. In a world of less and less privacy it would be nice if we started to shift cultural norms towards respecting the few vestiges of privacy we have left.

lol that facebook post

^^remind me not to ask you what your name is because I don't know if you were named after your father and he raped you repeatedly during your childhood. such microaggression.

i was going to post a similar joke, but afripino beat me to it. oh well.guess im just out to offend everyone!

Appointment to get The Snip Snip on Tuesday. Breeders, enjoy having your 18+ year freeloaders. I'll be spending my money on shit I want and stuff I want to do.
10/28/2015 12:13:56 PM
good for you. nobody really gives a shit though.

^^ why do you disagree?
11/3/2015 2:43:20 PM
that's why you plan for having kids so you can spend on them AND (gasp!) still have money for shit you want and stuff you want to do. having one does not necessarily make the other impossible.

I love my kids, and Lord knows I love spending money on them, but good God $540 a WEEK on childcare is ridiculous. I enjoy buying them food, and clothing, and housing and fun stuff. But I don't know of anyone who gets enjoyment out of spending $28,080.00 a year on daycare.^This[Edited on November 4, 2015 at 1:36 PM. Reason : ]

I get lots of enjoyment out of people paying that much for childcare. But I am a childcare provider.

Got the snip on Friday, spent the weekend predominantly in my recliner. Already have one kid, but made sure I won't be having any more.

you either pay for child care or you pay for elder care. after watching my grandma live to 98 years old and only have a small pension to go off on for the final 3 decades of her life, I know she's glad she had a daughter to look after her and help her. probably meant more to her than a trip she may have taken 60 years prior.there are two sides to every coin. nobody's right or wrong. but only one side is guaranteed to die alone. My dad's wife passed away somewhat suddenly a few weeks ago (she was perfectly healthy when they got married about five years ago...then came down with dementia and Alzheimers a few years and quickly deteriorated). He's in his late 60s, but is a top triathlete in his age group and his mom's side of the family all live into their late 90s.If not for my sister and I, he might as well hang 'em up. He pretty much has nothing if not for his kids. Its pretty much pushed me to the, "I want to have kids" side of the fence. I've never been against them, but for purely selfish reasons, I want to have something extra to live for in my old age. He's also enamored with his grand kids. It's a joy I think I've never seen in him.
12/16/2015 11:31:58 AM
yeah, kids are cool. just like anything, they have ups and downs. it ain't for everyone, but you really don't know what it's about till you do it.
12/17/2015 5:14:06 PM
No kids. Not gonna happen. If my wife and I ever get too old to take care of ourselves, it's double suicide time.
12/18/2015 2:00:19 PM
12/21/2015 8:53:14 AM
^ I guess my point is that he's incredibly depressed and the only things that he's talked about that brings him any semblance of joy are his kids and grandkids.I'm really good at being a loner. I can workout, watch movies, eat drink, do whatever by myself...but I could't imagine being all alone in my late 60s. And all of those things are fun to do, but much better when you know you have someone to come home to....or go see for a weekend, or a holiday, or whatever. If my wife passed away at an old age and I didn't have any family or a strong group of friends to keep me company, I'd probably want to check out as well. That's all I was saying.
12/21/2015 12:49:29 PM
Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't realize he had actually voiced that. At any rate, I'm glad he does have you.

Got The Snip back in January. Best $60 I ever spent
8/16/2016 8:27:21 AM
congrats. it was a huge relief for me.
8/16/2016 8:54:11 PM
^, ^^What was the recovery like for the procedure?
8/17/2016 11:22:31 AM
It was a breeze. I had it done on a Thursday and I just chilled around the house through the weekend with some compression shorts and frozen vegetables. I probably would've been alright without the frozen stuff. Back to work as usual on Monday.
8/17/2016 3:27:45 PM
Had mine done on a Friday and was back working on Minday. I had some definite soreness for a couple weeks, and then random pains that would surprise me for the next couple months. Coming up on 8 months now and I'm back to normal.
8/17/2016 8:10:50 PM
I have a decent phobia of needles. Especially in/near my ballsack. What's that all like? Do they offer needle-less procedures? Do you feel any part of the procedure?I'm not getting one anytime soon, but for sure at some point after we have our next kid.
8/20/2016 9:28:40 PM
they gave me valium to take before i left the house, so i was pretty relaxed. i felt a little pinch when they stuck the needle in for the local anesthetic. i didn't feel anything else after that. it's really not a big deal at all.
8/20/2016 9:32:32 PM
I have no kids and drive a truck that fits three people uncomfortably.
8/21/2016 10:10:56 PM
They ushered me into the surgery room before the Valium really took effect, but other than the first little pinch from the initial needle there was nothing that'd I'd classify as pain. There were some odd sensations, but the doc was good about reapplying anesthetic if he noticed me squirm or if I just plain asked. All told I was in-and-out in less than an hour.Spent a long weekend on the couch, and like NRR said compression shorts and frozen corn/peas are the order of the day. You'll be hobbling a bit, more out of caution than any real pain. Any swelling seemed to subside by Monday, but there was some righteous bruising that made things uncomfortable, but never really painful.
8/29/2016 10:58:11 AM
Gotcha, thanks for all the info.
8/29/2016 1:20:20 PM
Still childfree at 36 years old. Got a cat. In a band.

This thread is why Germany is having to import human capital.

Still no kids. Got abunch of money from the IRS.
4/13/2017 11:18:33 AM
got kids, but I got the snip. #SnipClubIt was exactly as Exiled described.
12/8/2017 2:17:58 PM
no kids and rich. it's pretty great
12/8/2017 6:05:37 PM
Seems everyone on both sides of the family are having kids right now, and every visit is a fucking nightmare of screams, toys everywhere, and endless chatter about poop and how much so-and-so likes broccoli.
1/2/2018 12:39:10 PM
I got two (11 & 15) but seriously considering making it official that we are out of the baby making business. Wife just got third Mirena and it has worked fine, but she is concerned about the 1% chance that it doesn't work.Anybody got a doc in the Triangle to recommend? I am looking at Dr. Monteith in Raleigh for the no scalpel/no needle procedure. Really good website and reviews and such.
5/12/2018 10:20:28 AM
Dr Whitley did mine, no complaints, but I guess it really depends on who's in your network.I can't speak for the no scalpel method or whether he now performs that, but the more traditional method is relatively simple even if there are a couple sutures. Personally I also like the whole bisect, cauterize, and clamp triple whammy...ultimate peace of mind.
5/14/2018 9:02:54 AM
it's painless even with the needle and scalpel. don't sweat it.
5/14/2018 7:37:49 PM
Just got home from my appointment with Dr. Monteith. Worst part was the needle-free injector for anesthesia. After that it was totally painless. Sitting on my bed now after driving myself home and even picking my wife up from work. Definitely feeling a bit weird right now, but not bad. Local anesthetic is supposed to wear off in four hours time so I'm about halfway through that now. No Valium scrip so just supposed to take 800 mg of ibuprofen in a little bit.
6/1/2018 4:49:18 PM
Don't neglect the ice!
6/1/2018 4:59:05 PM
Interesting, the doctor said not to worry about ice or peas. I got the peas anyways but he said you shouldn't need them.
6/1/2018 5:18:43 PM
I didn't do ice or peas. It wasn't that bad.
6/1/2018 7:45:56 PM
Yea so far so good, no ice or peas necessary. Couple beers with dinner and I napped for a while but up now. Worst part for me right now is standing up and waddling like I'm John Wayne as its not comfortable to bring my legs together. Otherwise I am doing fine so far.
6/1/2018 11:30:43 PM
How long before you can use it again?
6/2/2018 2:19:56 PM
I think I had to wait a week.
