hard to believe in 2013 people still think that having THC in ones system is a big deal

Author has clearly never had DXM, codeine, or marijuana. None of them make you violent. One of them makes you hallucinate, one of them makes you constipated, and one of them makes you hungry.
7/8/2013 7:18:51 PM
DXM will make you immune to pain while in a fight. Would have given Zimmerman more reason to panic if the kid wasn't responding to being punched back.Marijuana could have made him paranoid, or could have made him want skittles. Don't see it as much of an issue other than another in a series of poor life choices.

do you think their parents drew blood from them or made them piss on a home test kit?
7/8/2013 7:34:01 PM
I don't know, they brought them into a clinic to have them tested. Probably urine.
7/8/2013 7:39:45 PM
Piss tests can pop hot for THC for many days or even a few weeks.
7/8/2013 8:20:53 PM
I'm calling it now: guilty.

^^ You must be high. Not on murder 2. No fucking way.I think it's a WAY uphill battle to convict on manslaughter, but not utterly implausible.

I do so love these personal drug experience tales in TSB.Also, lol reefer madness.thegoodlife probably thought that was a meaningful contribution.

7/9/2013 9:43:19 AM
Lol so Zimmerman was probably high too then? What's his excuse...?We at least definitely know Zimmerman was being overly paranoid and nutty.
7/9/2013 9:49:50 AM
7/9/2013 10:22:53 AM
The cops might catch me with weed paranoia vs. the Keebler Elves are coming after me with machetes and it's kill or be killed paranoia?
7/9/2013 12:53:02 PM
jesus is this still going on? I figured this would be over after the prosecution provided a better defense than the defense. no way this guy gets 2nd degree murder. they should have saved everyone's time and went for manslaughter
7/9/2013 1:54:46 PM
Prosecution looked terrible on the cross of the forensic pathologist. Grasping at straws and the witness never wavered on his testimony or backpedaled.
7/9/2013 2:47:11 PM
ok, I'm slow when it comes to criminal cases. If he is acquitted, can they then charge him with manslaughter or does it have to go to civil at that point?
7/9/2013 3:19:50 PM
Doesn't work like that. Acquitted is acquitted.Involuntary manslaughter is a "lesser included offense" and the prosecutor can ask the jurors to consider it if they cannot convict him of murder 2.To make that decision thought the prosecution will have had to have proved that he acted with culpable negligence.Usually a self-defense... defense... doesn't work so well in manslaughter cases because it's fairly simple to defend oneself while still having committed a number of stupid acts like:1) following someone2) getting out of his car3) calling people assholes, fucking punks, etc4) not saying "hi im the neighborhood watch"Again though, this is a show trial, and that's why they didn't go for this in the first place. It's probably likely, and probably why the judge didn't allow the defense's request for acquittal the other day. They could get him on this; if for no other reason than to satisfy the foaming masses, but he probably deserves it anyway.Of course he probably deserves to get off because of the prosecutions idiocy and the extreme negative media portrayal, but I suppose it all depends who you talk to. IMO he should get manslaughter (but probably won't).[Edited on July 9, 2013 at 3:49 PM. Reason : im not smart, im google]
7/9/2013 3:46:27 PM
I didn't realize that he hadn't testified. Wonder if he will or not.
7/10/2013 3:15:02 PM
I wouldn't. The case has been made, only thing he could do by testifying is hurt his case.
7/10/2013 3:24:42 PM
should see an acquittal by friday afternoon IMO.
7/10/2013 4:08:08 PM
He wont testify. He could only Jodi Arias himself at this point.Best to Casey Anthony.
7/10/2013 4:39:05 PM
He won't testify. There is absolutely nothing that can be gained from Zimmerman taking the stand and examined. There is everything to lose from Zimmerman taking the stand and being cross-examined.As we've already seen, Zimmerman isn't the brightest bulb on the christmas tree to begin with... there is no way in hell his defense would let him subject himself to that.
7/10/2013 5:00:55 PM
^ I dunno man...His defense did try to open the trial with a knock knock joke. Nothing would surprise me at this point.
7/10/2013 5:36:55 PM
The Prosecution is also going for Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Firearm (or some combination there of). I think they MIGHT (maybe) have a case for that, if the prosecution has proven to the Jury that Zimmerman "started it". I think he's getting a Not Guilty for Murder 2.
7/10/2013 6:31:05 PM
well there ya have it, jury will consider manslaughter as well per the judge's ruling.prediction: not guilty on murder 2, guilty on manslaughter.[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 10:29 AM. Reason : .]
7/11/2013 10:29:01 AM
Drama!
7/11/2013 10:37:04 AM
fucking kangaroo court
7/11/2013 11:12:25 AM
what happened?
7/11/2013 11:22:42 AM
^the prosecution is trying to get a murder 3 conviction based on child abuse[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 12:32 PM. Reason : and the judge will allow a manslaughter conviction]
7/11/2013 12:32:03 PM
what child abuse?
7/11/2013 12:45:53 PM
he shot a child
7/11/2013 12:51:30 PM
OMG
7/11/2013 12:54:12 PM
Judge denied the Murder 3 charge
7/11/2013 1:13:57 PM
is murder 3> manslaugher? ie, murder 1 > murder 2 > murder 3 > manslaughter?
7/11/2013 1:27:51 PM
Anything with "murder" in it trumps manslaughter
7/11/2013 2:18:00 PM
Of course the jury could have already made up its mind on Zimmerman (walks) and just sees this as desperation.
7/11/2013 2:51:39 PM
I think Zimmerman is going to jail now that the jury was given the option for manslaughter. I think it's a natural psychological inclination for people to look for the "middle ground" when interjected into disputes. The manslaughter conviction will be that middle ground evidence be damned. I think Zimmerman's lawyers should be fighting tooth and nail to take the manslaughter option off the table. I think the lesser included offense option has sent a lot of people to jail who should have walked.
7/11/2013 3:00:58 PM
Don't be silly. You can't have a trial and not convict someone. That would just be a waste of time for everyone involved.[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 3:03 PM. Reason : .]
7/11/2013 3:01:51 PM
murder 3 is off the table. Judge denied it. No way he gets murder 2.[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 3:04 PM. Reason : ^edit]
7/11/2013 3:04:09 PM
Here's an idea:Charge him with the right crime in the first place.
7/11/2013 3:23:52 PM
this prosecutor is really reaching in his closing.

7/11/2013 4:20:26 PM
Can you not defend manslaughter by putting Zimmerman up there saying "Yea, at that instant I meant to shoot him!.... it was self defense... blah, blah, blah"???I know they can't do that now, but seems like it would have shut that down.My prediction is still guilty on a lesser charge. Maybe manslaughter, maybe Aggravated Assault with a firearm.[Edited on July 11, 2013 at 4:29 PM. Reason : .]
7/11/2013 4:26:47 PM
Defend? The trial is over. Now they get to pick the sentence.
