Hmmm, no shipping or status information for the one I ordered in September from Best Buy. Perhaps I should be concerned.
11/20/2013 9:23:32 AM
i also preordered from best buy, but chose in store pick up. i havent gotten an email saying its ready to be picked up, but i would assume i would get that tomorrow or even friday morning. i assume i am good since i preordered and extra controller and was able to pick that up last week.
11/20/2013 11:08:42 AM
I've got a 'reservation' at Target at Briar Creek. Looking forward to it I just hope I'll be able to walk into Best Buy and change out my Call of Duty game with the Xbone version fairly easily. Don't know how many copies they will have.

The Day One Edition I bought yesterday on Amazon says "Shipping Now". The exact same status as the one I bought in June.

i really wish console games were cheaper. the older i get, the cheaper i get. all these f2p computer games and steam sales makes it so hard to want to play (newer) console games.that said, the tv integration does sound pretty exciting here.
11/21/2013 10:44:49 AM
on the flipside. console games do have resale value, especially if you buy it, play through it, and sell it within a month or so of release.
11/21/2013 11:37:52 AM
not so fast: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/15/the-real-cost-of-gaming-inflation-time-and-purchasing-powerthe playstation family has actually gotten cheaper with each release, but the xbox has gone up.also, anyone know if the DVR of your cable box will work with the xbox? it doesnt seem like anyone has a clear answer. this will pretty much be the factor that decides if i plug my tv into it. i rarely watch live tv unless it is sports related.
11/21/2013 12:19:58 PM
i bought mine from Microsoft directly, its still not saying that it was shipped. I placed my Order in June.
11/21/2013 12:32:09 PM
11/21/2013 1:09:23 PM
From what I have read, the DVR won't work with the xbox (can't ask it to record or watch recorded shows), but the cable box functionality works (basic channel changing and guide).
11/21/2013 1:14:42 PM
i think everyone is confused. here is what i found:
11/21/2013 1:25:59 PM
It is a pass through. It is not going to disrupt ANYTHING that your current DVR does. It just won't be able to do everything through the xbox that you can do with the DVR remote. No worries. Just use your DVR remote as your normally do when you need to. But a lot of the basic functions can be done without the remote at all. Will be nice when I am eating food, and I don't want to pick up a remote. 'Xbox Pause'

it's like passing cable through a vcr to your tv back in the day[Edited on November 21, 2013 at 1:57 PM. Reason : .]
11/21/2013 1:57:45 PM
does any cable/satellite/uverse provider have an HDMI-CEC compatible box? the reason I ask is because :
11/21/2013 2:26:30 PM
It's a pass through, but its not a straight hardware pass through. It actually decodes the video signal, adds the Xbox UI to the video stream, and rencodes it before passing it back to output. It apparently degrades PQ and doesn't pass surround sound from your cable box. The latter will probably be fixed but it will always do something negative to the picture.
11/21/2013 2:33:56 PM
11/21/2013 2:44:33 PM
Maybe it doesn't do anything to a 1080p test pattern, but output from a cable box is generally 720p/1080i. That's going to have to be decoded, processed, and scaled by the Xbox. There is no way the source signal won't be degraded by the time it reaches your TV. That's just common sense for anyone who knows anything about A/V hardware. There is no way a $500 piece of hardware is going to flawlessly deinterlace or scale video. http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/20/5117320/microsoft-xbox-one-review
11/21/2013 3:12:16 PM
Well, I'll let you know what it looks like on my 65" HD screen tomorrow. Considering a ton of people have now reviewed it, and only a couple super anal people are saying something about it (probably the same pricks that are pissed off about 1080p), I'm not concerned.
11/21/2013 3:15:02 PM
my logitech revue does the same thing, and it degrades the signal slightlyi'd suspect the xbone could do better than it though, what with years of advancements and much beefier hardware to work with
11/21/2013 3:17:11 PM
If you like the TV, game system, games you currently have you can keep it.Microsoft is changing gaming and you clowns are crying about this. Ps4 doesn't have it, feel free to go buy that piece of garbage. #Day1Niggas #Xboner #GreatnessAwaits
11/21/2013 3:28:53 PM
BTW To state the obvious, if you find it does impact you TV signal, you can always run it without the pass through. You'd lose the voice command TV and integratopm but you could still use everything else.
11/21/2013 3:46:26 PM
Actually, you might now even lose that. You may still be able to do things like change channels without having the pass through. I can't imagine it not working unless they've coded things to not work unless an HDMI signal is detected. It is just using an RF blaster (out of band)[Edited on November 21, 2013 at 3:48 PM. Reason : .]
11/21/2013 3:48:28 PM
You could probably change channels with your voice but you wouldn't have the guide. You will probably never be able to actually watch DVR'd shows, but hopefully eventually (if not right out of the box) you will be able to schedule recordings with voice commands. It doesn't need to know what's on the DVR to IR blast the record button.[Edited on November 21, 2013 at 5:37 PM. Reason : ]
11/21/2013 5:35:41 PM
I was more just talking about not using it for TV anyway. If I have to fight with it to work well I'll probably consider just using it like my 360 until they and the cable companies are actually able to work together enough to enable the HDMI-CEC functionality.

^ working for me. Might be a dumb question but can One and 360 players play together in the same game? Or does it segregate by console so only One players will be matched together?
