Damn, if we don't have wood, we are screwed. He creates the space that makes the offense work.
11/16/2011 9:41:05 PM
Judging by the aircast, crutches and general frustrated/pained look on Wood's face, he'll miss SOME time. Of course, I'm sure he'll get an MRI...
11/16/2011 9:42:11 PM
that was shitty officiating not a coach getting a tech. These refs were garbage[Edited on November 16, 2011 at 9:45 PM. Reason : slow ass posting ]
11/16/2011 9:43:48 PM
actually got a bit loud tonight...looking forward to the IU/cuse games
11/16/2011 9:43:49 PM
11/16/2011 9:44:17 PM
Tough break with Wood. I'm pretty sure he started EVERY game his first two years ... then goes down three games into the Gott era. Speedy recovery needed.
11/16/2011 9:47:03 PM
^^ Not to mention he got it wrong.[Edited on November 16, 2011 at 9:47 PM. Reason : unless WE is Princeton...]
11/16/2011 9:47:33 PM
it's fine...wood absolutely owns the series against ankles injuries...he is 0-1]
11/16/2011 9:48:01 PM
Regarding the tech on Gott. I didn't hear anything other than what was the foul. Didn't hear any magic words before the ref called a T.
11/16/2011 9:48:12 PM
Brown with 16 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 stealsthat's a pretty stellar stat line
11/16/2011 9:49:46 PM
Buddy at the game texted me that Gottfried told the ref to "kiss me where the sun don't shine"
11/16/2011 9:50:48 PM
11/16/2011 9:51:21 PM
Is there any more info on why Gott got called for the T? I didn't realize what was going on for a second there, much less why it happened.
11/16/2011 9:54:06 PM
I thought it was a pretty well officiated gamethen again, I didn't get the benefit of instant replay
11/16/2011 10:01:17 PM
Howell is consistently breaking defenses and getting to the basket. If he starts actually making shots he will be absolute nightmare for acc opponents.
11/16/2011 10:07:11 PM
^^ You are a fucking moron. They ran a fucking weave and heave offense with moving screens all over the place none of which were called.
11/16/2011 10:14:58 PM
Honestly, I really didn't notice that many moving screens. There were certainly some bad calls, most notably the slap I heard on Tyler Harris' arm on a shot that was woefully short.
11/16/2011 10:16:42 PM
This was actually a great game for us to play tonight. It showed that we can win a dog fight, that we can get through injury and have our bench play with some confidence and not look lost in this system.Ernie is right, Sid would have lost this game, I love the guy as a player but he would have lost.Being down to so little depth doesnt help us Considering we were without CJ, Da Thaey is still being with held and Howell had 3 fouls for a long time. We showed that we could still win. This Princeton team will put up a good fight in a lot of games and perhaps win the Ivy League again if Upenn doesnt put up a good fight.Scott Wood being out hurts but CJ williams can shoot, he just wanted to pass it WAYYYY too much tonight. He needs to take scotts position.IT was a GREAT game for Lorenzo scoring wise but he has to get smarter with his passes. This helped alot in terms of experience and seeing how Gott handled a close game. I am impressed. And there was nothing that was said really to merit the Tech, it was more of a cumulative thing I believe considering all the blown calls that lead up to it.
11/16/2011 10:17:33 PM
Ugliest game winning shot of all time. Gott can't stroke him off too hard on that one; that shot misses 7 times out of 10. With 6 seconds left, he should have taken it to the basket. All's well that ends well, but we got lucky this time.
11/16/2011 10:18:50 PM
11/16/2011 10:22:04 PM
^^considering his shooting % this year, you are wrong. Sorry, his numbers dont lie.^ yeah being harsh but there were a lot of tipped passes too that wont show up on a stat sheet that need to be handled, but I agree completely. I tweeted at one point thank God we have Lorenzo Brown because he won us that game.[Edited on November 16, 2011 at 10:23 PM. Reason : f]

huh?a top 20 team, the ACC, and not much to worry with???
11/16/2011 10:26:12 PM
Apparently half the team had flu-like symptoms
11/16/2011 10:31:17 PM
Ok heres the beef for today. Why the HECK is this student ticketing thing sucking? They gave us section 310, when HALF of both lower levels were empty. They need to fix this and fast. Email debbie like everyone on packpride does?

11/16/2011 10:42:20 PM
11/16/2011 10:54:53 PM
I was happy with Vandy's play tonight.
11/16/2011 11:04:26 PM
If Packpride is to be believed, Wood might have a 3rd degree sprain. If that's the case, we may not see him back until January.
11/16/2011 11:08:26 PM
losing wood hurts offensively but I think he can defensively be a liability sometime and we need to be able to win or get a lead without him having a great 3 shooting night. That said without the consistent deep threat you'll see teams pack it in tighter like Princeton did
11/16/2011 11:09:59 PM
^^I had a high ankle sprain last year around this time...was on crutches for 3-4 weeks and in a boot until January. I hope his isn't severe. It can be a bad injury...worse than a break in some cases.
11/16/2011 11:18:34 PM
Yeah, my mom got one two seasons ago sliding into 2nd base during a tournament game and STILL has pain issues in her ankle. She had to wear a brace up until this past season.
11/16/2011 11:34:14 PM
If Wood is really out a few months, I'd expect CJL to get some significant time on the wing. Especially considering how Painter has been playing, and the fact TDT will (hopefully) be back soon.
11/16/2011 11:38:01 PM
11/16/2011 11:52:42 PM
Yea i dont understand how you can say that shot by painter was uglyThat shit was pretty and hit nothing but net.dude stroked the shit out of that thing
11/17/2011 12:15:10 AM
11/17/2011 12:31:44 AM
Painter's shot wasn't a bad shot at all. Made up for him not heding at all on the screen on D and giving up that 3 to tie when everyone knew they needed a 3. great win for the team. with sid as coach we lose this game 10 times out of 10
11/17/2011 4:43:03 AM
no plays in the Sportscenter Top 10? disappoint
11/17/2011 7:57:04 AM
A couple of things:Painter has stroked that 15 footer so far this year. Kid has come a long way. That is going to be a major threat as people will not expect him to take that shot for a while yet to come.Johnson is a great addition to our squad. Anyone who still questions his place on the floor is a moron. He played 1 pretty much the entire second half letting Brown move without the ball and take the game over. You can tell he is experienced because he really doesn't try layups in traffic. How many times last year did Harrow get swatted in the lane because he's too short to try those layups? I don't see any of that from Johnson. Harrow is still the better program player obviously, but we're talking about Johnson here. Also, I know he's been rusty so far, but he made more 3s than wood did last year. His % was a bit lower, but he can shoot.CJW got trigger shy last night in the second half. I know that he's not the best shooter, but someone has to pull up if Wood is not on the floor. He had a couple of open shots and he kept pulling the Dennis Horder pump fake crap.Howell was clearly frustrated last night. If he had 2 more inches he would be a monster. That is the first game this season where he has seen a defensive big man with any size. He'll adjust and do great. He played 18 minutes in the first half. Didn't sit down until 1:30 or so. His conditioning is incredible.Brown had a minor ankle sprain two days before the game. The day before he was throwing up all day with flu like symptoms. He was game day/time questionable. He played 37 minutes last night and was clearly our MVP. He is the one player that we absolutely can't do without. We clearly were coached properly during halftime. Gott made adjustments and kept our guys motivated. He's a fucking ball coach, and it's very apparent. He talks about basketball in post game interviews. He doesn't rabble on about "We did some good things tonight, and we did some things that were not so great. I thought we showed heart, and we're going to work hard in practice this week." I was so tired of that shit for the past 5 years. We played last night with 7 players. One being Harris, who despite showing some great stuff last night in limited time has a long way to go. Another one being Vanderberg...There is no way we win that game last year. We would have all fouled out from exhaustion and mental collapse from playing that many minutes. The last 15:00 of the game would have been shots jacked up from 16 feet with 26 seconds left on the shot clock, followed by over the back calls after not boxing out.Lastly, Vanderberg makes me bipolar a fuck.[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 8:50 AM. anyone know if they're replaying this game soon? i was there, in pretty crappy seats. it was a fun game though, and the crowd was decent and got pretty loud sometimes. the students really gave it to the refs a few times.
11/17/2011 9:53:53 AM
I hate our fans. another 1/2 full game.
11/17/2011 9:58:06 AM
It's a Wednesday night game against an Ivy League team. Chill, broCrowd sounded really good on TV
11/17/2011 10:04:18 AM
we still had ~10,000 people there watching a team that hasn't even been on the bubble in 5 seasons.
11/17/2011 10:06:16 AM
Who said I'm not chill? The point stands that our fans don't care to truly support the team. It doesn't matter when/who. Either you support the team or you're just a fair weather fan. If you can't make it, there are tons of people who could use your tickets.
11/17/2011 10:07:31 AM
I watched the California game the other night. They're ranked #22. There "arena" looked smaller than Cameron, and it wasn't even half full. It looked like there might have been a few hundred people there. It was weird.
11/17/2011 10:11:51 AM
Yup the lower level where it is all LTR and season ticket holders, was half full. It's not like these were general admission seats that didn't get sold. I don't get it, my row has 12 seats and whoever I bring and myself are the only people on the row all three games. We have 16 home games and they have already missed 3. At least give them away or something. Pathetic.
11/17/2011 10:13:04 AM
i agree with that. there are charities that would love those tickets.and it really irritates me that fans on the third level can't move down after the first half, when it's ovbious there are plenty of open seats.[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 10:34 AM. Reason : ]
