^ I think they got out hit like 10-5...offense blows right now. Bourn of course has tied a career high in HR in May of his contract year. Braves have no shot at re-signing him, or any other big name player as long as Liberty media still owns the team.
5/30/2012 10:05:56 AM
Chipper will free up enough to bring back Bourn
5/30/2012 10:19:04 AM
If Bourn keeps hitting like he is, then he's going to command a ridiculous contract. As much as I love having a real leadoff hitter and a great defensive CF, the Braves would be making a big mistake to give him 6-7 years at $15 mil or whatever it'll take to keep him. Dude turns 30 this year and eventually his main weapon (speed) will begin to diminish. Let the Red Sox or Yanks drop $100 mil on him.As for Liberty Media, I hope the company goes bankrupt and is finally forced to sell the Braves to Mark Cuban. A man can dream...[Edited on May 30, 2012 at 10:38 AM. Reason : 7]

At least the offense looked good tonight
5/30/2012 9:53:55 PM
Picking a good time to warm up. I'll be at the game Saturday. Section 128 HOLLA!
5/30/2012 9:58:45 PM
Oh word? Want to help me apply sunscreen before the game?
5/30/2012 10:18:51 PM
5/30/2012 10:20:34 PM
David O'Brien ?@ajcbraves#Braves have optioned SS Tyler Pastornicky to Triple-A Gwinnett. No announcement yet if Simmons is coming up.
5/30/2012 10:30:04 PM
^why? i thought pastornicky was playing relatively well sans this 5 game stretch.also, ESPN states this:
5/31/2012 2:50:18 AM
yeah, that really surprised me, I thought Pastornicky had been playing solid, at least to the eye ball test (have not delved into his stats) but he seemed to be doing good at moving runners over, spreading the ball around, bunting etc. I know he and Uggla have had some mixups at second at times, and hes had a few errors and Simmons has a fucking cannon for an arm (like Shawon Dunston level), but seems more like a shake things up type of thing.
5/31/2012 3:17:15 AM
Simmons has been tearing the cover off of double a balls. This is a good thing - i'm stoked
5/31/2012 6:42:46 AM
The Braves are calling up Simmons for his defense and assume he cannot hit any worse than Pastornicky. Pastornicky got off to an OK start, but has really sucked lately and his OBP is Plus defensively, he is pretty much the worst SS in the NL. At least Simmons should be able to make a couple nice plays each week.Simmons is not "tearing up" AA. He is having a solid season hitting around .300, but he will struggle to hit much more than .230 or so in the bigs.
5/31/2012 7:39:48 AM
i'm looking forward to seeing Simmons. I had hopes for Pastornicky, but he's no Jeff Blauser
5/31/2012 8:12:13 AM
oh well. always interesting when a new young face joins the club.

It doesn't really matter what Simmons does at the plate. We should be good enough with Bourn/Prado/Chip/McCann/Uggla/Freeman/Heyward that the 8 hitter can be pure shit. Just field really well and everythings fine. And get healthy..
5/31/2012 6:38:27 PM
Simmons will likely be the 2nd coming of this guy:
6/1/2012 5:39:39 PM
Rafael Belliard: 2500+ PA and his career OBP (.270, yikes) was higher than his slugging %. Quite literally the worst 17-year career in the history of sports. I'm pessimistic about every call-up, but not even I would stoop that low. Also, this
6/1/2012 6:24:33 PM
Pretty sure I remember watching Belliard hit his first HR (on tv, of course)
6/1/2012 6:54:37 PM

6/2/2012 1:04:32 PM
I'm in dc right now and should go to the game but I just don't have the energy. even so, go braves!
6/2/2012 2:18:56 PM
On metro now to the game
6/2/2012 2:52:48 PM
i'm just going to stop watching the first inning for the foreseeable future.
6/4/2012 11:12:09 AM
Thank God we finally beat the Natspos. That team pisses me off and they are only going to get better.
6/4/2012 11:58:15 AM
so that's what this team looks like when everything clicks
6/6/2012 7:45:44 AM
Hell of a game from Don Uggla last nightBarves are finally back on the upswing
6/6/2012 1:07:48 PM
I'll blow anyone who gets me one of these Saturday
6/6/2012 4:39:36 PM
I, too, would love one of those. Would be awesome if they found a way to have Bonds sorry ass in left field looking all sad.
6/6/2012 5:14:03 PM
^^ Wow that is badass. Mike Lavalliere (spelling?) was one fat porn star looking mother fucker. Also Braves traded for Ruben Gotay today to play in AAA. OH WE BACK!
6/6/2012 6:06:53 PM
a chick I know is going and I was like "yo, can I have that bobble head?" and surprisingly she was like "sure, I dont really get bobbleheads, so I was just going to not take one when they offered it"
6/6/2012 6:59:27 PM

6/6/2012 8:01:41 PM

6/6/2012 8:18:42 PM
hell of a game by Delgado. still getting terrible run support but pitched brilliantly.
6/7/2012 7:55:22 AM
Melky Cabrera has the highest batting average in baseball.
6/7/2012 1:00:42 PM
Mike "Meatball" Minor
6/7/2012 8:33:35 PM
hmmm, really starting to like this team... SO spread out, different guys every night... if the starting pitching and Venters can stay good, dont even have to be great, they will go far
6/7/2012 10:17:18 PM
besides that stretch where half the team was out, they have played very solid ball. Holding this Marlins team that came in red hot to 3 runs over 27 innings is no small task. Also, for the reputation that Marlins Park has gotten of being huge and power numbers being down there....lots of balls flying out tonight....
6/7/2012 10:20:43 PM
6/7/2012 10:28:30 PM
^i'm speechless....you're like russel crowe from "A Beautiful Mind.
6/7/2012 10:35:35 PM
hahahaha
6/7/2012 10:36:03 PM
Marlins Park still looks completely lifeless. I don't know if it's the closed dome, lighting, or what. It just looks like a dim and lifeless
6/8/2012 7:43:39 AM
so how much would you pay for a Sid Bream bobble head?
6/9/2012 10:42:49 AM

I still get a mild chub when I see "MLB Baseball" on TBS. Then I click on the channel and see Mete/Yankees
6/10/2012 1:44:18 PM
The little chime they play during NBA games on TNT when the score crawl pops up is the same they used during Braves games on TBSAlways makes me
6/10/2012 1:52:41 PM
Sid Bream is Joe the sewage guy
