In 31 years I have never officially called a game over or ball game only to be wrong. They aren't playing well enough to have come back at that point and the fact they are down three now shows that. It's ok we showed some decent pockets of play tonight but we still have a ways to go to be on the level of the Caps.

Any of our offensive D-men for a good 2nd line center and I'll be happy. That would (hopefully) mean that Maurice wouldn't shuffle around the top 2 lines nearly as much AND we won't be needlessly scratching a healthy d-man every game.

Rutherford did say his view on the team dynamic could change if things continue... hinting that if this goes on after he strengthened the team, maurice will be under the microscope. Glimmer of hope I guess.

Rutherford should be under the microscope more than anyone. If he is going to make a move, it better be a damn good one. I don't want to see Anson Carter in a Canes jersey again, and I don't want a Jeff Halpern type name to be the guy they go after.

Rutherford is a top 5 GM in the business, and is recognized as such pretty much across the board. We are fucking lucky he didn't leave to GM Toronto a few years back.

I would agree with you on that statement if it weren't for the fact that he rehired Maurice who has never been consistently successful anywhere he's been. Not to mention the fact that we fired him before. I honestly have never seen the firing and rehiring of a coach in any sport. I'm sure it's been done but I've never witnessed it and I can't imagine that if it has been done before, that's its been successful.
