ahahhah. I'm in my bedroom watching on my oldass tv and all I can see is the far right part of the score box. I just see inning and outs and the bases on SD I can see the full box when I switch it over to the HD channel.
7/24/2010 5:16:39 PM
there is supposed to be some kind of standard embedded in the broadcast from FOX that should automatically take the 16:9 HD feed and letterbox it for SD (widescreen)if you are seeing the game through satellite or a cable box, WRAZ is supposed to be doing it for us... but they aren't. whatever, I likelove it.
7/24/2010 5:19:44 PM
It isn't just in Raleigh, it is happening up here in Philly too.
7/24/2010 6:19:12 PM
haren to laa for trash and a supposedly impressive player to be named later
7/25/2010 7:37:51 PM
All Jon Miller wanted was a job where he could eat french fries while working. Isn't that just the most prescious thing you've heard?
7/25/2010 7:42:50 PM
The french fries are the second smartest thing in that boothKnow what I mean
7/25/2010 7:45:25 PM
This Cubs/Cards game feels like a playoff game... even though it's the Cubs.
7/25/2010 11:29:34 PM
I don't really know where to post this, but the FJM guys are going to be doing a little one-day Deadspin thing again this year. Sept. 22nd. Saw that on KT's twitter...^ yeah, I remarked to my "Cards fan" roommate who was watching Big Brother ## last night that I don't like either team but it was a fantastic game...[Edited on July 26, 2010 at 5:25 PM. Even with the Yanks pitching a little shaky these days they still keep on winning, and I can't believe there was even a question on who would be in the rotation Joba or Hughes. Oh and Cano MVP
7/27/2010 12:20:26 AM
^ Cano for MVP? I don't think so. Hamilton or Cabrera deserve it more.
7/27/2010 7:40:02 AM
Pretty sure the MVP talk goes Hamilton=Cabrera>Morneau>Cano.
7/27/2010 7:54:19 AM
Excited to see dom brown tonight.Notthe circumstances id have preferred though.
7/28/2010 4:30:34 PM
Why is he up? Is Victorino going to the DL?
7/28/2010 4:35:11 PM
7/28/2010 4:38:43 PM
already on the 15-day DL
7/28/2010 4:39:52 PM
^^ lol... sorry, sir. I've failed.I saw that he tweaked his oblique last night on a routine catch. Just didn't realize they were going to DL him so quick.
7/28/2010 4:45:57 PM
D Lee blocked a trade to the Angels. He has the right to do it, but I'm ready to blow this squad up asap.
7/28/2010 4:49:47 PM
Weird, Angels seem to be trying to load up like that have a legit shotThe TB/Yanks loser has the wildcard locked up, so they must think they can catch Texas
7/28/2010 5:08:57 PM
7/28/2010 5:16:23 PM
Any news on what the Angels were going to give up for Lee?I assumed they'd be sellers by now after losing 3 of 4 to Texas but they really fleeced the DBacks in that Haren deal. If they can keep making deals like that they could keep "buying" right up to the deadline no matter how far back they fall.
7/28/2010 5:29:03 PM
7/28/2010 7:34:50 PM
LOL, someone tell me they heard the ESPN guy who was breaking back from the A-Rod look-in say "Sh--itty Field"God, fuck off LaRussa with your stupid ass pitching changes you piece of shit[Edited on July 28, 2010 at 9:58 PM. Reason : ikeikeikeikeike]

Oswalt to Philly.http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/Phillies-could-get-Roy-Oswalt-and-still-keep-Jayson-WerthThis is the most reputable link but I've heard an update that says its pretty much it's on Oswalt now to waive the no-trade.Happ is a guy who I always thought would regress. His peripherals are really not all that great. It's amazing that he has a 1.xx ERA so far this year, granted the sample is so small. A 1.6+ WHIP and a <1 K/BB. Even in just three games, it's hard to believe only a handful of runs scored. I mean guy is letting on upwards of two guys an inning and not striking anyone out./NL East[Edited on July 29, 2010 at 9:22 AM. Reason : where is Philly getting this $ from? They are going to be near $160M now]
7/29/2010 9:19:11 AM
im curious as to the full details of the deal. looks like at least j.a. happ and jonathan singleton.. which i guess after resigning howard there's just no space for singleton.idk.singleton has raw potential.[Edited on July 29, 2010 at 9:34 AM. Reason : ^didnt see your edit. but yeah i think he peaked last year.]
7/29/2010 9:24:33 AM
Damn that is shitty news for us Braves and Mets fans. I fucking hate Philly. Here's hoping Oswalt turns into the next Nate McLouth and sucks ass in Philadelphia. I wish the Braves could spend $160M.

Oswalt v. Braves: 7 G, 0-3, .354/.388/.543, 7.58 ERA, 1.78 WHIPOswalt v. Mets: 13 G, 5-5, .256/.312/.399, 3.69 ERA, 1.27 WHIP
7/29/2010 5:34:51 PM
^^ Sorry I figured the Mets fans would appreciate being associated with a good organization. I'll continue to group you with the Indians, Brewers, Dodgers and all the other underperforming teams of the past 10-15 years.
7/29/2010 5:42:32 PM
7/29/2010 10:48:22 PM
getting Utley back is another thing, the Phillies need
7/29/2010 10:49:01 PM
it's not often that another team gets pwned by the nats in a tradegood job twins
7/30/2010 12:58:22 AM
The Astros are picking up like $11 M of the remaining $23 M on Oswalt's contract. That is a pretty good deal for the Phillies IMO. The Astros must really be desperate to suck.[Edited on July 30, 2010 at 7:13 AM. Reason : o;]
7/30/2010 7:13:35 AM
Edwin Jackson to White Sox...rumors of them flipping him to Nats for Dunnthis is one of the most active trade deadlines I've seen in years
7/30/2010 1:51:25 PM
Lance Berkman to Yanks apparently. Why? I'm not sure. Are they just stockpiling $15M players now even though there are guys in front of them?
7/30/2010 5:23:25 PM
Berkman DH's Nick Johnson is hurt more than Moises Alou
7/30/2010 6:12:49 PM
Posada is brittle too. Ideally you'd like to have him DH a few times a week and let Cervix catch.
7/30/2010 6:14:14 PM
True, but in the playoffs, they're going to have Berkman potentially hitting in the 7 holeThats just not fair
7/30/2010 6:18:45 PM
7/30/2010 7:14:21 PM
i'm so glad Capps is the Twins full time closer! i was afraid i might have to drop him
7/31/2010 12:31:26 AM
probably because you're a closet Twins fan
7/31/2010 2:10:40 AM
my star-studded fantasy team has lost 4 straight weeksi need all the help i can get. even if that means Capps and Cuddyer
7/31/2010 8:33:10 AM
posada at dh is stupid. you never start two catchers... what if the one in the C slot gets hurt?[Edited on July 31, 2010 at 12:32 PM. Reason : .]
7/31/2010 12:32:10 PM
...then you move the DH to C?What are you talking about anyway
7/31/2010 12:47:32 PM
If Joe Maddon is your manager you have to worry about mistakenly listing both Cervix and Posada as the C and forfeit the DH for the game...
7/31/2010 12:56:45 PM
^^and have your pitcher bat? why run that chance? and then, what if both of your catchers go down in the same game? the primary purpose of the 2nd catcher is to give the starting catcher the day off and call a good game in his absence... and maybe hit .150 or so. posada at dh is a stupid idea. if he's a crip let him start a couple games at C in a week. otherwise what the hell is the point if he can't even play catcher anymore.[Edited on July 31, 2010 at 12:58 PM. Reason : the dh rule is complicated for some]
7/31/2010 12:57:26 PM
[Edited on July 31, 2010 at 1:01 PM. Reason : fuck it]
7/31/2010 1:00:10 PM
Once the DH moves to a defensive position, they forfeit the DH the rest of the game... but I'm not sure why we're arguing managerial logic, here consider that Girardi has used Posada as a DH tons of times and stated after his latest injury that he plans to use him as a DH regularly when Cervelli gets a game. This obviously changes with the arrival of Berkman in all likelihood. In any case, the DH is a piece of shit and shouldn't be in the major leagues at all anyway. So fuck it.[Edited on July 31, 2010 at 1:03 PM. Reason : x]
