The play Saturday where Boris caught it in front of the Bobcats bench in the corner with no Hornet within 15 feet of him summarizes just how much of a puss he's become with regards to shooting the ballThe whole bench let out an audible groan you could hear on the TV broadcastI think we really need to win tomorrow and Wednesday vs Washington and Minny just for the psychological edge of being over .500 at the break instead of under. Then beat NJ at home coming out of it to set up the huge game vs Cleveland next Friday, which Mister Dweedle and I will be finagaling tickets to

oh god please no sheed! If Flip got traded though Rally would be all [Edited on February 9, 2010 at 4:53 PM. Reason : .]

I like the idea of getting Davis the most because I doubt we'd have to give up much to get him. Tyrus Thomas would be nice to have, maybe a trade, straight-up for Diaw? Otherwise, it doesn't seem worth it.
2/9/2010 4:55:56 PM
If we gave up DJ for either of those clowns I would be all
2/9/2010 4:57:09 PM

I realize this thread is about those interested in the Bobcats.... which I am not. Hear me out, maybe I can offer some insight.I am in outside sales, which is currently salary+commission, but will move into straight commission starting at the beginning of July 2010. I have been in this position since July 2009. I have competition from several direct manufacturing sales reps, large distributors, and local distributors. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each:Direct Advantages: Immediate knowledge of new technology, no middle man mark up, one shipping bill (paid by manufacturer or buyer of goods), access to larger range of non-commodity items, control inventory, have access to many distributors that can effectively sell their goods which increases market share, and set prices of commodity they manufacture.Direct disadvantages: Typically have 1-3 sales reps per region (i.e. southeast, mid-atlantic, northeast, etc.) limiting the number of accounts they can successfully manage/cold-call, lack physical customer service or physical technical service available to or affordable for smaller users or altogether, are sometimes not trustworthy because they will go in behind their distributors that sell their commodity to one account in large quantities (i.e. they missed a big account, and have found out about it through a distributor selling their particular product) which leads to the distributor not selling their product anymore, have too many distributors selling the product ultimately driving the set price down through deviations, possibly rely on distributors to actually sell the product, and competition from other direct sources.Large distributor advantages: have access to other commodities that go hand in hand with other manufacturers (poor example- grocery stores sell milk as well as cereal), get direct pricing, many locations regionally or nationally easing the shipping burden of buyers with multiple locations, personal service either customer or technical, many sales reps that are able to cover a broader territory, access to multiple manufacturers of the same commodity allowing to keep prices in check, service programs that smaller companies can't offer and direct providers can't match in price or value, and experts of many many commodities as opposed to one or a few.Large distributor disadvantages: smaller local distributors creating price wars (think Michael Scott Paper Co vs Dunder-Mifflin), direct mfg's going in behind and stealing business, limited access to all of the mfg's (you won't find Harris Teeter name brands in Food Lion and visa versa), can't truly set prices because it's based on both supply and demand, territory management, and tough growth prospects in slower economies (this is true for direct as well really)Local distributor advantages: Typically a good ol' boy setting where the seller and the buyer know each other for years (this does happen at all levels, but mostly at the local level), local folks are right down the street and can be used in emergencies, if the local guy buys at high enough volumes then there is no shipping charge to the end user, and access to both direct mfg's and large distributors.Local distributor disadvantages: easily beaten in price, array of commodities, array of technology, lack of trained staff, low cash flow, etc etc etc. This is what I have noticed in my six months, I am sure there are plenty more that need mentioning. The way I am setting myself apart as a sales person is this: I go after the big accounts right now while I am new. The big accounts, if I land them, will take care of me while I am new and building a customer base. The money made off of those allows me to focus free time on smaller accounts that get me higher margins. I build up big accounts, I would like to have 5-10 of these, then get 20-30 medium accounts. If I lose 1 or 2 big accounts, the 20-30 medium accounts keep me afloat while I go after new big accounts. I don't really waste time on small accounts simply because they basically pay for breakfast or something really small.I will say this, if you can't get a big account in the first 6-8 months (assuming you have cash flow that you can ride this long) you could be in a world of trouble. If you can get one, it will really make going after the others a lot more enjoyable and less stressful. It's simply just very exhausting wasting any time on anything other than big accounts in the very beginning. You work just as hard on the medium sized accounts and see 1/3 to 1/36 of the money in my situation. If you have any other questions, you can PM me. I hope this helps in the slightest!

All I saw was the background from where Jamison took that last shot and it look filled more than what has been the norm this season. Maybe they let people down in the lower bowl I dunno.
2/10/2010 10:25:35 AM
Next week vs NJ will be similarly empty, but it will be rockin next Friday when Lebron and friends roll into town

Big baby stinks he was rated the worst player in the league last year prior to garnett getting hurt when he started playing a little better.Sheed kinda stinks this year but anything would be an upgrade over Diaw... maybe LB could coax the best out of him
2/10/2010 5:19:36 PM
A win is crucial tonight vs a fecal Wolves teamBeing one game over .500 as opposed to one game under is a really big deal going into the break, especially for a team who has never been this good this late in the season
2/10/2010 5:22:17 PM
^^ Sheed is not an upgrade over Diaw and especially not if you have to give up DJ to get himthis game is lookin like a rout so farup 20 halfway through the 2nd
2/10/2010 8:50:07 PM
Bobcats have steadily blown that 20 pt lead. They're up 1 now in the 4th with 6:55 left. This club gets out to leads and seemingly can never put teams away.
2/10/2010 10:06:45 PM

2/10/2010 10:21:47 PM
felton hurt his ankle on monday. he was able to play on it yesterday but not tonight. they only played 8 players tonight, and one was acie law. gerald wallace was a non-factor as well. i'm surprised they pulled it out.

2/16/2010 9:28:42 PM
as long as they get in the playoffs, they are golden
2/16/2010 10:03:27 PM
Just got Tyrus Thomas for Acie Law, Flip Murray, and a future first rounder.Loving that trade because we don't give up that much, but who starts??? Diaw or Thomas? or both with Chandler coming off the bench?
2/18/2010 12:30:58 PM
WOOOOTTThey went out and got help at PF for two back ups and a pick. This is a great trade for the Bobcats IMO.[Edited on February 18, 2010 at 12:36 PM. Reason : .][Edited on February 18, 2010 at 12:41 PM. Reason : could he play against the Cavs potentially?]
2/18/2010 12:31:52 PM
Possibly. I mean, Jackson played the night we acquired him, so maybe?
2/18/2010 12:55:40 PM
Assuming Thomas passes our physical, and Murray and Law pass Chicago's physical, he should definitely be here tomorrow night.
2/18/2010 12:57:46 PM
The more I think about it, the more I like this trade. We are a ridiculously athletic team with this trade. Jack, G-Force and Thomas make for a crazy long/athletic 2-3-4 combo. And each of those guys can play the 3/4 also. We still have 2 really serviceable points guards to get them the ball. AND, we still have Ajinca as a project.Whoever made this trade happen should be commended.
2/18/2010 1:26:16 PM
I think that Felton is way more than "serviceable". LB has really gotten the best out of him and his improved play is one of the keys to this turnaround along with Jack's arrival. We're pretty dangerous 1-4 with 2 role playing centers and Augustin as the top scorer off the bench. I really, really like this trade as long as that first rounder has some condition where it can't be in the lottery.
2/18/2010 2:14:04 PM
Sucks losing a first rounder but Thomas will help. Law/Murray were good drops. I loved him in college but Law is too small to play in the NBA. Best part was we didn't move DJ, its too early to give up on him.
2/18/2010 2:17:51 PM
Yep, love the fact we kept DJ and got a crazy athletic 4^^If Nazr keeps playing like he has of late, the bobcats are dangerous 1-5.
2/18/2010 2:29:20 PM
as long as we don't run ray as sg i like this trade
2/18/2010 2:46:45 PM
Raymond Felton is more than 'serviceable' I guess. He's my least favorite Bobcat. Nothing he does ever blows me away or impresses me all that much. Plus, he's a UNC guy, so that's one strike right there....He's a team leader and a tough player, but he's no superstar.
