he behaves like him?Kanye has tried to take healthcare from millions of americans? Kanye has demonized immigrants and separated them from their families? Kanye has passed regressive economic reforms?Has Kanye named one Trump policy he supports? Has Kanye spouted and pushed racist policies? He's had some questionable comments about black americans, but since he is black seems like thats just ignorant not racist. I'd welcome some dumb shit comments about white america from trump, for once.

For the most part, I'm pretty sure the artists I'm into wouldn't support Trump... and especially wouldn't be outspoken about it if they did.

congrats?

kanye's voice is powerful, a lot of people follow what he says and does, when he says those things it normalizes it to a lot of people, that's why it's not something to just dismiss
5/3/2018 12:25:00 PM
I don’t think people are dismissing this/him at all

step out of your bubble, kanye saying these things strengthens and normalizes a terrible narrative because he is famous and famous people have public voices
5/3/2018 3:51:24 PM
that platform is riddled with bots specifically made for things like this, so random tweets aren’t gonna cut itand some of those people are clearly MAGA people[Edited on May 3, 2018 at 3:59 PM. Reason : .]
5/3/2018 3:57:49 PM
Kanye shouldn't get a "pass", just because TGL bumped Kayne tracks in HS/College while partying with his friends. There, I said it.
5/3/2018 3:59:50 PM
5/3/2018 4:00:59 PM
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. You can hate what he said and think his music is good. You can hate his music and agree with what he said. You can like his music and his shitty opinions. And you can hate both. The two are entirely separate issues.
5/3/2018 4:03:50 PM
Maybe for you they're separate. For others, they're closely tied together. Personally, I try my best NOT to idolize celebrities, or really anyone for that matter, but we live in America, and plenty of people do. And when shit like this happens, it causes all sorts of problems- especially for young, vulnerable people who probably don't have great role models surrounding them.
5/3/2018 4:06:50 PM
Our president is a freakin' tabloid/reality TV celebrity
5/3/2018 4:09:05 PM
^you are the voice of reason in this thread.[Edited on May 3, 2018 at 4:10 PM. Reason : ok, maybe I can ]
5/3/2018 4:09:41 PM
I mean, so far the evidence I’ve seen that this is some big issue is that a buncha maga twitter people agreed with Kanye. That’s not too surprising to me. What he said was completely fucking stupid. Obviously. I don’t really see a need to give it/him any more attention than it deserves. [Edited on May 3, 2018 at 4:16 PM. Reason : A]
5/3/2018 4:15:06 PM
5/3/2018 4:15:29 PM
^all those tweets look like they’re already maga people. I’m not remotely surprised that the twitter account “educating the libs” and somebody else calling themselves “the leftists nightmare” agrees with Kanye’s shitty thoughts on slavery.[Edited on May 3, 2018 at 4:19 PM. Reason : A]
5/3/2018 4:18:44 PM
It wasn't just a bunch of stupid remarks. He's had a history of that for a while. It's the fact that what he said is essentially a stick in the eye to the entire African American community. He has benefited from privilege than 99.9% of the members of community will NEVER have a chance to enjoy. If people wanna hold their noses and act like his words and actions in the REAL WORLD don't matter, that's cool i guess. "I don't usually smoke, but pass the 'dro."
5/3/2018 4:21:55 PM
^^ and this is exactly the kind of thing that allows them to radicalize young people who don't know any better, this is why having a celebrity spread these kinds of shit history is bad
5/3/2018 4:25:34 PM
I don’t think he’s got the influence that you think he does. His biggest fans are in their 30s. He’s incredibly famous, obviously. But young people don’t fuck with Kanye like that.
5/3/2018 4:29:34 PM
I teach young people for a living, and I can tell you that plenty of them adore YEEZUS
5/3/2018 4:33:38 PM
yeah i mean adidas barely sold any yeezy's to teens[Edited on May 3, 2018 at 4:37 PM. Reason : too late]
5/3/2018 4:36:56 PM
Musically he seems to be becoming less and less relevant. People love his shoes though.
5/3/2018 4:37:14 PM
he is a celebrity, he is part of the kardashian machine, it's more than musicthe dude is a huge celebrity with a huge voice, it's bad when he normalizes this shit
5/3/2018 4:37:58 PM
People love Jordan shoes. Is he considered a strong influence on today’s youth? I would say that he’s not. No doubt, Kanye is more relevant to young people than Michael Jordan. But i think y’all are overestimating this.
5/3/2018 4:41:53 PM
If MJ came out and started saying the shit Kanye is, it'd be similar. But Jordan doesn't have nearly as big a stage as Kanye currently does.I think you're underestimating it.
5/3/2018 4:46:14 PM
If Russell Westbrook said it, you people would be acting the exact same way
5/3/2018 4:54:45 PM
Jordan's brand is the face of his brand now. It wouldn't work if he was, because he isn't that relevant anymore to today's youth. Its all manifestation of itself

celebrities have a powerful voice +sometimes they say stupid shit and lies +many children, young people, and stupid people gobble up what their favorite celebs say = terrible situation with consequences for the whole country for years and decades to comehow is that hard to understand for some people???look at the several tens of millions who have gobbled up the literally thousands of lies trump has told as POTUS
