why do i feel that Chuck Amato was calling the plays up until the end?that was some NC State shit.
9/8/2009 12:04:27 AM
nah, that was some chuck amato clock management[Edited on September 8, 2009 at 12:05 AM. Reason : .]
9/8/2009 12:05:16 AM
exactly my point - echoing the sentiments of the espn commentators.
9/8/2009 12:06:19 AM
there was nothing that would qualify as "NC State shit" in that game
9/8/2009 12:06:46 AM
except the end of game confusion on the goal line.
9/8/2009 12:08:11 AM
it wasn't bad clock management. it was a smart chess move. fsu had spread offense in the game and did a delaye substitution to bring big guys and the game and line up quick with miamis dbs in the game and get a free run. miami tried to sub at the last second and ended up having to call a time out to prevent the certain td.
9/8/2009 12:08:19 AM
well, fsu should not have counted on receiving a gift pass interference call. They lose that game much earlier than 4 seconds left if they don't get that (bad) call. it was poor clock management.
9/8/2009 12:09:52 AM

9/8/2009 12:10:01 AM
meh, I think you're giving them too much credit, it looked like a damn CF on the field
9/8/2009 12:10:29 AM
everyone is saying how good both teams looked but both defenses looked like they had several blown assignments and missed tackles. Tough to tell if the offenses were just that good or what
9/8/2009 12:40:18 AM
clock management wasn't bad. They had, what, 4 chances inside the 5 yd line? thats plenty
9/8/2009 1:06:14 AM
still wasted about 30-40% of the clock at one point
9/8/2009 1:36:30 AM
I don't know why you pass on every opportunity. At least give Ponder a bootleg or something so that he has the option to run or possibly throw it away if things don't look good.I UNDERSTAND why you pass. But you're two fucking yards out of the endzone...you don't have to completely throw out the option of running.
9/8/2009 10:27:08 AM
^They tried to run, and it got stuffed, making them use their last timeout. 17 secs & no timeouts means if the run doesn't work then the coach gets flamed afterward[Edited on September 8, 2009 at 10:34 AM. Reason : 1]
9/8/2009 10:33:47 AM
I'm not saying run it on the first play after you get stuffed...but just don't completely rule it out. Bowden said in the post-game press conference was that his only option was to pass...which is bull-shit to me.You have a mobile QB and a semi-decent running attack. Pass it a couple times, then maybe give the run a shot. I'm sure the coach is gonna get flamed a little bit regardless because he couldn't punch it in 3/4 times from the 2-yard line.
9/8/2009 10:37:02 AM
regardless, that was a very entertaining game to watch.
9/8/2009 11:29:40 AM
What an awesome game.I still don’t think Jacory Harris is that good of a QB, but he made some crucial plays last night when he had to. That corner pass to Travis Benjamin was a thing of beauty. It also looks like FSU might have another Deion Sanders in Greg Reid – albeit a much shorter version.
9/8/2009 12:57:59 PM
Just got back from Tallahassee. Probably the best game I've been to. Was on the field. The FSU fans were great. Although disappointingly quiet at times, especially on Miami's last scoring drive. But they were heckling me with my U sweatshirt the whole game, which was fun.OMGGGGGGG.

One thing I noticed that NO ONE is talking about... and it was late so maybe I'm crazy...When that last ball fell incomplete their was still time left on the clock. I am assuming the ball is dead when it hits the ground. The reviewed the catch, but I didn't hear or see anything about reviewing the time.Does the clock stop on the whistle and this is unreviewable?Just wondering cause it seemed like they shoulda had one more shot but I didn't hear anyone talking about it so I assum I missed something...
9/8/2009 1:43:02 PM
Is ESPN blacked out for anyone else? Is this game on an RSN or something?
9/10/2009 7:34:23 PM
I came in at the end. were we featured on the "not who we thought they were" segment?
9/10/2009 7:36:46 PM
^^^I thought the same, but the official's time is typically slightly off from what the scorekeepers/network has. That was probably why there wasn't another play.[Edited on September 10, 2009 at 7:39 PM. Reason : x3]
9/10/2009 7:37:54 PM
OK, WTF is going on with ESPN on DirecTV? Channel 206 is blacked out, and channel 73, which is supposed to be a simulcast, still has Holtz and company talking about various college games. Hasn't the Clemson game already kicked off?
9/10/2009 7:41:17 PM
Nevermind. I guess the game is just running late or something.
9/10/2009 7:42:12 PM
They moved our game up last week to allow Boise State-Oregon to start earlier. The normal time is 8pm.GT having a white out and they still cannot sell out the new endzone addition.
9/10/2009 7:45:13 PM
Normal time is 8 but they're kicking off at 7:45 and they listed the game as starting at 7:30 apparently.[Edited on September 10, 2009 at 7:48 PM. Reason : ...]
