sooo..... no moose next year? Pay the man his money. wtf - are we after another FA instead of paying moose? he was such a great run blocker on the edges for deA last year...oh well, heres to 2007 jake in 2009!http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1472246/fantasy_sports_girl_training_camp_preview_panthers/[Edited on March 25, 2009 at 12:21 AM. panthers shouldnt jerk around moose like that[Edited on March 25, 2009 at 12:47 AM. Reason : .]
3/25/2009 12:47:38 AM
I can't believe they are about to pay that slacker who doesn't want to be here $1M per game and then insist on jerking around Moose.
3/25/2009 8:21:23 AM
new panthers.com site launched yesterday... its alright, nothign special.
3/25/2009 8:26:35 AM
what's going on with moose?
3/25/2009 9:34:59 AM
I, too, would like to know what's going on with Moose.
3/25/2009 1:37:11 PM
could we see a peppers trade, moose release, and holt signing?
3/25/2009 1:46:21 PM
we'll probably see Peppers and Moose in Panthers uniforms next year and Torry is probably a pipe dream
3/25/2009 1:48:29 PM
I REALLY hope Peppers is not back next year.
3/25/2009 1:49:39 PM
I really hope nothing happens to Moose. He's a great run blocker, good possession reciever, Jake has a trust in him and will actually throw him the ball, and he is a good leader. Hard to replace a guy like that.
3/25/2009 1:55:02 PM
3/25/2009 2:44:36 PM
moose's NC home is for sale^^^^^^^and what a classy set of comments by our coach -eh? Even when Pep acts like a pop-star and throws his Defensive system under the bus..... Fox comes out classy.
3/25/2009 8:00:53 PM
imo he only got the tag so we got draft picks[Edited on March 26, 2009 at 4:08 AM. Reason : i dont know how thats him being a beotch...]
3/26/2009 4:08:21 AM
i believe he will be a panther next year. Fox is content with eating $16.7million dollars for him. i cant imagine being a player in the locker room knowing that the guy next to you is getting $1million a game.
3/26/2009 8:49:07 AM
^^^just because his house is for sale doesn't mean there's something going on with him. He could be just upgrading to a bigger house. Beside, Charlotte is his offseason home anyway.
3/26/2009 10:05:21 AM
^^not really uncommonI'm sure Brett Gardner and Melky Cabrera don't lose sleep over the fact that Arod makes in a week what they make in a year
3/26/2009 10:06:37 AM
Lucas to the Bears?http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/03/free-agent_parade_bears_bring.html
4/1/2009 7:31:34 PM
if they get Lucas and let go of Vasher, we should pick him up to return kicks
4/2/2009 10:07:58 AM
we're not getting anyone with ~$26,000 cap space....I doubt we would've let lucas go if we didn't have to....At this point, we cant even sign any draft picks.trading peppers + a qb for cutler (and either cutting delhomme or including him in the trade) would free up 20+ million in cap space.but peppers holds all the cards and is essentially holding the team hostage.
4/2/2009 10:18:52 AM
i'll bet you 50 bazillion dollars cutler is never a carolina panther
4/2/2009 10:20:14 AM
I bet you're right.
4/2/2009 10:25:18 AM
i was reading that jake is going to rework his contract. He would be extended 2-3 yrs and take the 09 cap hit from 8mil to about 5mil.
4/2/2009 10:25:43 AM
They have to find some cap space somewhere before the draft.
4/2/2009 10:28:26 AM
If I were a Panthers fan I would really want to see a Peppers + Delhome trade for Cutler.
4/2/2009 10:28:35 AM
yeah I read that too, wasn't to happy to hear about that.
4/2/2009 10:28:41 AM
^doesn't mean much....They can cut him whenever anyway.
4/2/2009 10:29:32 AM
Julius is fucking us. Ugh.
4/2/2009 10:30:39 AM
4/2/2009 11:56:51 AM
Agreed KMac. Julius for a few picks is a far better option than losing he and Jake for one Prissy QB.
4/2/2009 11:58:28 AM
Denver Broncos 10, Carolina Panthers 30, Final - Dec. 14, 2008i know its a team sport, but maybe Cutler can sniff the playoffs before I believe his cannon is stronger than John Elway[Edited on April 2, 2009 at 12:12 PM. Reason : .]
4/2/2009 12:12:07 PM
My fault. I didn't realize Peppers for a FEW picks was an option. I would much rather take that route too if I were the Panthers.
4/2/2009 12:14:58 PM
Each day that passes makes me believe more and more that Pep is staying despite his little hissy fit at being franchised. If he can rupture just one more QB spleen (Brees? Matt Ryan?), then I will forgive him...
4/2/2009 4:52:34 PM
Me too. If he can get 16.5 sacks again, maybe a few of them when we really need a big defensive stop, I think people will be able to forgive him to some extent. Of course if his agent hadn't come out and said he didn't want to be here, it would be a lot easier.
4/2/2009 5:04:47 PM
At least we don't have to worry about Cutler in a Panthers uni :D :D :D :D :D :D
4/2/2009 6:15:03 PM
As much as JPep has done for the Panthers, A) he is still a Tar Hole and B) he costs a load of money that we could use to sign others, get picks, buy me season tickets, etc. etc. etc.
4/2/2009 9:37:15 PM
^^^^ I thought it was Jenkins that ruptured Simms' spleen
4/2/2009 9:45:19 PM
i thought it was al wallace
4/2/2009 9:45:59 PM
it was a combination of Kris Jenkins and Al Wallacehttp://www.sptimes.com/2006/09/25/Bucs/Chris_Simms_has_splee.shtml
4/2/2009 10:58:39 PM
Pretty good synopsis of what the teams needs vs. options are in the offseason. This dude seems to doubt that Peppers stays tho...http://www.shelbystar.com/sports/panthers_38179___article.html/need_season.html

Every team bends the rules for stars. You think guys like Lawrence Taylor and Michael Irvin would get 2nd and 3rd and 4th chances if they weren't terrific football players?
4/7/2009 6:16:39 PM
why cant a team trade for him with 2 first round picks and then like renegotiate a long term contract so they wont be hit for the 17 million?[Edited on April 8, 2009 at 4:16 PM. Reason : .]
4/8/2009 4:15:42 PM
probably because Peppers wants to play OLB and no one knows if he will be good there?
4/8/2009 5:12:53 PM
i figured he wanted out of carolina more than playing olb
4/8/2009 5:18:23 PM
^^^, ^ thats actually a good point. Is Peps hissy fit over Charlotte, NC/ the panthers organization really just because he wants to play OLB?OR That OLB crap is really all about getting out of Charlotte, NC/ the panthers organization into a more urban scene, beach access, etc?
