This cupcake is for you The Ohio Suckass University.
Three bowl game failures in a row. At least sport commentators did not folly in claiming you to undeniably being the favor to win this time around. I laugh at the thought that sports pundits early in the season were predicting your shitty team to be the best ever and to attend the national title game even after two losses this season; not to mention two previous loses in the title game in the years previous.

I felt warm in gooey inside watching this consistenly over-rated team get tossed back to Ohio by the long horns.

^^they lost by 3 in a great game, not exactly getting trounced. But then again, if all you have in your life is making fun of teams that lose, I feel for you.

Was conflicted...stick to my principles or pull for the good of the conference...ended up with principles.

Thank you, Texas.

^ Heh. The only silver lining is that Mich didn't have a bowl to lose in, which they surely would have.

"Some gifts people give are pointless: Styling mousse to Dick Vitale. An all-you-can-eat card to Kate Moss. The BCS Championship given to Oklahoma or Florida.

It means nothing because the BCS has no credibility. Florida? Oklahoma? Who cares? Utah is the national champion.

The End. Roll credits.

Argue with this, please. I beg you. Find me anybody else that went undefeated. Thirteen-and-zero. Beat four ranked teams. Went to the Deep South and seal-clubbed Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. The same Alabama that was ranked No. 1 for five weeks. The same Alabama that went undefeated in the regular season. The same Alabama that Florida beat in order to get INTO the BCS Championship game in the first place.

FIND ME ANYBODY ELSE THAT WENT UNDEFEATED. THIRTEEN-AND-ZERO. BEAT FOUR RANKED TEAMS. WENT TO THE DEEP SOUTH AND SEAL-CLUBBED ALABAMA IN THE SUGAR BOWL.

Yeah, that's how it is now in the shameful, money-grubbing world of college football. If you're Florida and you beat Alabama, you get a seat in the title game. If you're Utah, you get a seat on your sofa."

Best sports article i've read all week

http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3815656

If The Ohio State football was a basketball team they'd be one of the loser upsets when a #2 seed who loses to a #14 seed in the sweet 16.

everything gets spun back to Ohio State for you, doesnt it? An article about how Utah got shafted and has nothing to do with THE Ohio State, somehow gets twisted so you can get in another stab in. You talk more about them than any other poster on this website

we get it, you dont like OSU, shut up already

^^ If you want to make basketball analogies, then Utah is the feel good story about the mid major that makes it to the elite 8 and then gets bounced because they can't win consistently against quality competition week in- week out.

^That probably works better if they had lost a game to quality competition, but they didn't. I don't think they're the best team in the nation but a lack of college playoffs gives us no way of knowing that.

Except for in BCS football system which automatically plops the two "best" teams; I highly doubt the statistically best team in any sport wins the championship even a quarter of the time.

Everyone said UNC was the best team in the NCAA last year and they ended up losing to Kansas in teh final 4.

The panthers in 2003 got to the playoffs in a wild card and made it to the super bowl. With a system like the BCS they would never have gotten a chance.
Why don't in 2009 we just go ahead and set up Giants v. Titans in super bowl 09. It won't be fair otherwise that the Giants won the NFC and didn't get to the super bowl

^is true. Also, the current format for NFL and the presumed BCS playoffs (I've mainly heard an 8 team playoff) would lend itself to a cinderella team having a much better chance since there aren't nearly as many rounds as the NCAA tourney.

imho they should have a 8 team tourney.

The winners of the 6 big confrences ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-10, & SEC get a spot. Than have two at-large slots for teams in other confrences decided upon by best record with other tie-breaks like confrence record, etc.

We could even keep all the other bowl games just so all the other schools can still get their money and spot in the sunlight.

At the least the BCS should completly scrap fucking opinion polls in its deciding process. The choice of which schools should participate in the current system should solely be based on their records and other statistics.
